    Good job! I would suggest flushing the heat exchanger of vinegar by opening the house supply line and keeping the hot service port open. Run 4 gallons of water through it. Then close service port and run through house. Less smell in living space.

      Defiantly a good job, but if this is something that needs to be done with regularity, I personally would plumb it so that it is easier to access the valves for flushing. But, thats just me

    Great video. I just flushed my Navian. Put it all back together and it started dripping out of the catch on the bottom. Reviewed the video and at the 8 minute mark I saw the "O-ring". Mine was missing. Drained the heater and removed the pin and catch. Fished out the O-ring and reinstalled the catch and pin. No leaks!

    FYI (after just doing this and then having a leak from the trap) - the o-ring came out on yours when you removed it. If you don’t see your o-ring, take a peek inside the pipe, it may be hanging out in there!!

    Thank you - I just wish you mentioned that some units do both hot water & heat and have twice as many connections - So I believe I need to run this 2 times.

    I have a similar unit 240a2. I have recirculating lines with a shut off on that line as well. Is it best to shut that valve off as well during the procedure to prevent the vinegar solution going through the circulation lines?

    Worked like a charm on the navien npe 240s, thank you! Question, is it normal for the condenser to have vinegar build up around it after circulating for 30 min? Guessing yes because of the word condenser but JIC

    Can you tell me if Navien tankless water heaters are HUD approved?

    Hi Great video. I did try it and for some reason (I verified 10 times :) plus I am pretty technical in it ) all connection is right and pump is pumping water in but it is not coming out from hot side Anything to check? Waited several minutes Nothing

      I had the same issue. Pump was running but nothing coming out on the hot side hose.
      Resolved it by first opening the cold side hose near the water heater service port. Turned on and off the cold side service valve couple times near the heater. Reinstalled the cold house. Opened and closed the relief valve as well.
      Turned the pump back on and saw the fluid coming out of the hot side.

      Thanks But can you give more details on how you did fix it. So problem where in cold port or what? I still can't figure out why it is not pumping though :(@@just4funme1

    You lost me when you turned on the service ports to allow the hot water to drain. Did you just turn back on the levers for the hot and cold water? Or was it something else you turned?

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  Před rokem +1

      The supply in and hot water out are turned off during the whole procedure. What you see me open is the service ports to drain the water that’s in the heat exchanger
