- "Jose can you see?"-National Anthem playing straight without any of my reharmonizations, same for God of Our Fathers and played a tad slower than I normally would thanks to leg cramps that were killing me (I'm sooo out of shape). Playing the recently rededicated (by David Higgs) 1963 Aeolian-Skinner Opus 1410 rebuilt and expanded by Randall Dyer at First United Methodist Church in Orlando, Florida. Thank you FUMCO!!

THANK YOU!! That's very kind of you. All of the very best to you and your family!
Mark, I “met” you online a few days ago, as I so rudely sort of elbowed my way in a conversation you and another model train enthusiast were talking shop (trains). I have listened to most or all of your presentations (what is the music world’s word for this?) on this and other magnificent pipe organs and right now I’m all out of the right words to say I’m just blown away. There. To quote the youth of today (and mine and yours of yesterday). You truly have a gift and know how to use it. I was moved to tears for two reasons - your playing struck that “nerve,” and this was the magnificent music I grew up with. I was in all the choirs, the organ was in a “pit” just below us, and the pipes hidden behind us with screens. I had forgotten what beautiful organ music was like in the First United Methodist Church of Jackson, Tennessee. You are truly an instrument of our Father God! And I saw you play by ear and memory with no sheet music! Thank you. Just...thank you.

THANK YOU!! Anyone who’s a railfan ALWAYS enjoys the very possible pleasure and excitement it brings to those outside of the railroad family and world, so you never “rudely” “elbowed” your way into anything as you were most welcomed indeed!
Thank you for all of your kind and generous words, they’re most appreciated indeed!
@mpsnknox Thanks MPS, I JUST read that Monday afternoon on the Randall Dyer website as I had forgotten that you told me that back in November I think. Thanks!
Thanks Mark!
Thank you so much, and send me some Perogies (Pierogi), Bigos, Golabki, Krupnik and Kapu PLEASE! LOL, I'm glad that you enjoyed it, thank you again and be well my friend!
Greetings from Florida!

Terrific segue
Thanks!
Great job
Thank you, much appreciated indeed!
Good job! Greetings from Poland!
@AeolianSkinner1983 Thank you kind sir!
@AllTheStopsJB Thanks J, after listening to this a few times, I'm now sorry that I played it straight without reharmonizing either tune......
This is the way it ought to be done BUT you can do another one with the reharmonization you were talking about. But you probably have done it already. I'll keep poking around. Thanks again Mark!
Thanks Andrew! I'm sure if you commented previously, I'd have to go through all of the comments here to which I don't think that there are many, but thank you so much for watching and commenting!
The organ was designed, in collaboration, by Jesse Baker (FUMCO Organist Choirmaster), Harold Gleason and his wife Catherine Crozier.
magnificat Mark... gloria in eternam tua est
@benchkey Yes, part of the original Aeolian-Skinner specification of 1963. How've you been? Well I hope, and thanks for your comment!
Mark
@ppaajjeerroo Thank you my friend! It's been a long time since I've heard from you, how are you doing? Greetings to you!
Mark
Ever play the national Hymn in E-flat? This past Idependance Day I did a fantastic free-harmonization on the last verse. I'll have to put it into Sibelius and let you have at it.
First United Methodist Church Orlando, Fl.
@bongdrop Thanks....
DANG! HE ALMOST provoked Virgil (laughter)
Wendell W. Alderman
LOL!
@mpsnknox Gee, I never answered (sorry 'bout that). YES, I've played it in E-flat and I believe in F-major (I'll have to reference my vid of that hymn as I don't remember).
@mpsnknox I'll add it into the description, as I should've since you know who said that he didn't have a problem with me posting on CZcams (hint, hint Mark ya big dummy!)....
@benchkey No, Joseph Whiteford 1963.
What are the specs on that organ, Mark? Quite an instrument! (Enjoy your performance, as well.)
John E
Thanks John! Please go to www.rdyerorgans.com
click on '21 Century Upgrades' and then click on 'First United Methodist Church Orlando' to see the specifications. It's a 4/79 and started life as a 1963 Joseph Whiteford Aeolian-Skinner, I've forgotten the Opus number. Enjoy!
Thank you, Mark. Also in keeping with the Wesleyan tradition, at SDUMC (encinitaschurch.com) we have a very nice Schantz organ, built in 1980 and upgraded and maintained through the years by the curator of the Spreckles Organ in Balboa Park, San Diego. One of my friends, Willie Brown, a retired microbiology professor, is celebrating his 80th birthday with an organ concert, and in lieu of gifts, he is encouraging donations to our music program.
Please keep posting on CZcams and elsewhere -- I enjoy your performances and appreciate all of the hard preparation work that went into them.

Thanks again John, and thanks for the link, I appreciate you! All of the best to you and your family!
I just love the American National Anthem, much much better than the UK's crappy Anthem.
'God Save the Queen' is at least a tune that can be sung in any key unlike our National Anthem which is difficult to sing if not in the right key. Albeit not your National Anthem, I especially LOVE Jerusalem by Parry. That tune ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes. Wonderful tune and arrangement.
