    I'd take Huawei's supercharge over wireless charging, it's not hard to put your phone down for 15 mins and you can get enough charge for the rest of the day.

    • @GabrielIgnacio
      @GabrielIgnacio Před 5 lety

      My issue with Huawei and other Chinese flagships using their own fast charge methods is that while it's much more efficient at juicing up, you need to use their specific charging bricks and cables to take advantage of it. Other charging methods like Quick Charge aren't as fast nor efficient but are compatible with a wider range of devices.
      As for wireless charging, it's not a must but it's nice to have, specially as a slow charger overnight when you know you're not gonna use your phone.

    I'm interested in, do you mind if the 3.5mm earphone output was dropped from the phone and did not resolve bluetooth support for the Dolby Atmos equalizer. So using a bluetooth headset can not use the full potential of the equalizer. In fact, there is no equalizer at all! That's a problem with P20pro.
    What are your thoughts? I know you like a Bluetooth headset.
    All the best

    The reason why night mode is superb on P20 Pro thanks to the pixel fusion technology and NPU AI processor which detects the objects, merges and stitches the photos from different exposure together. BTW, Huawei just announced Kirin980 yesterday. It has the craziest spec, such as 7nm SoC, Arm A76 8Cores(2big, 2midium, 4little), Dual NPU (Support real time image processing, object recognition and segmentation for picture and video, etc), Mali-G76 10Cores with GPU Turbo & AI assisted frequency adjustment, Cat.21 4x4 MIMO 1.4Gbps 4.5Gen, 160M bandwidth Wi-Fi up to 1.7Gbps, LPDDR4X 2333Mhz, Dual ISPs, L1+L5 Dual band GPS, so on.

    I purchased a Huawei P20 Pro back in June 2018. This was purchased to replace my Nokia 1020 (the previous "King of the Phone Camera Hill").
    I am very pleased with the phone in-general. But the camera is amazing for stills. The only drawback is the lack of Image Stabilisation when shooting 4K video (Strangely 1080P Video actually has OIS, but not on 4K).
    Overall I am very happy with my Huawei P20 Pro.

      Out of 6GB RAM, 4GB RAM is DDR3 and only 2 GB RAM is DDR4. DDR3 is really slow. Check out full specs before purchasing.
      4000 mAh battery is not Lithium Ion unlike Asus 5z. The battery is made of Lithium Polymer which is a really cheap and low density battery. Lithium polymer will not provide 4000 mAh capacity after 15-20 cycles. The battery doesn't last long too.
      The entire body is made out of plastic, not metal. No aluminum is present.
      The SD845 chipset is supposed to be connected to the Motherboard via gold conductors. To reduce costs, Xiaomi used Aluminum conductors instead of gold.
      The Asus 5Z costs 6K more but it uses gold conductors, Lithium Ion battery which is a high density battery, it is a metal build and the entire RAM is DDR4 which is superfast.

    I have both the P20 Pro and Mate phones which fingerprint scanners are in opposite sides to each other. After a while I must say I prefer the front FP scanner. For 2 reasons:
    1. When the phone is in my pocket, and I put my hands in my pocket just to stand around, my finger touches the rear and it unlocks while in my pocket.
    2. When the phone is flat on my desk, and I receive a msg I have to lift up the phone to get my finger in the back.
    With the front scanner, I have none of those issues.

    • @michaeldickerson5738
      @michaeldickerson5738 Před 5 lety +4

      I personally put my Pixel face down on a desk so it's not an issue.

    • @gjna5143
      @gjna5143 Před 5 lety +4

      Weak arguments. I have used both as well and prefer the opposite. Getting my phone out of my pocket instantly unlocks my phone with the rear FPS. To say it unlocks when you have your hands in your pocket is real nonsense. For the desk issue, simply swipe your screen and use a figure to unlock.

    • @HeartAce13
      @HeartAce13 Před 5 lety +1

      Point No. 1. Doesn't matter where the FP scanner located at. If you accidentally touch the FP, it will unlocks the phone in your pocket.
      Point No. 2. This only applies if your phone doesn't have face unlock. Because having FP scanner on the rear and face unlock on the front, makes unlocking phone more flexible.

  • @garmit61
    @garmit61 Před 4 lety

    Totally agree with you about the front fingerprint scanner. When I switched from the Honor 8 (with rear reader) to the Honor 10 (front reader) I was stunned at how much worse the new scanner is. It consistently fails to recognise my dabs. The rear one only railed when my fingers were wet. Also the irritating google help keeps trying to launch as I adjust my finger position to try to get the scanner to work. It was a very poor change because the new scanner must be about a quarter to a third of the size of the rear scanner which is probably why it only works with about 1 in 3 attempts. Looks like they’ve now changed that position again on the later models to have side scanners and on screen scanning. Perhaps they listened. I also thing the removal of sod card expansion is an unnecessary change. It’s like removing the kick start from a motorcycle. You might never need it for years but suddenly you’re stranded because it isn’t there. Great review though.
