    I will never understand how pro life women think pro choice women are “speaking for them”. We aren’t the ones trying to make your choice illegal. Keep your baby, by all means. That’s what “pro choice” means. These people just LOVE being victims.

    “Raise” is a weird euphemism for “not dismember”

    I think the argument "the fetus is unconcious" falls apart because no one would claim innocence after killing an unconscious person.
    Also, the argument "they re gonna have a horrible life/some parents don't deserve children" is also not the greatest, because most people would choose life instead of death even if they had to suffer this way. And even if they chose death, it should be their own choice. The idea that we are "killing them for their own good" is nonsensical.

    Instead of all these people putting money into figuring out how to take people's decisions and rights - maybe they should think about how to make the adoption system less predatory to teenagers and discriminatory to people who have gone to therapy, are too short, tall, weigh too much, are gay, straight, religious, atheist, etc. And then making the foster care system safer and have the people who are checking in on the children not so overworked that so many things slip by? But there would be so many less children that would be in foster care if people without the resources to have a child had the option to have an abortion. There are numbers behind it. Even the train wreck of Teen Mom that I will watch as long as they will let me has cut teen pregnancies by 6% all by itself.
    Plus - what about tubal pregnancy, people who still have to have an "abortion" after a miscarriage, a non-viable pregnancy.. why be so cruel?

      And I'm glad that woman was Ok with her baby after being raped. But some people just are re-traumatized when they see their baby after incest/rape. Again -why be so cruel.

    I agree with the doctor! No one should force any woman to have a baby they didn't want. I've had friends who got pregnant from being raped, and some kept the baby, but they ended up giving the baby away because their child looked very much like their rapist and they constantly relieved what they went through looking at their innocent baby. Some went through court issues where the rapist wanted joint custody and they had to face their rapist and went through terror and anxiety of being raped again by the father of their child. No one discusses the safety of the mother, why? They don't care! Some friends aborted the baby that resulted from rape and they don't regret it whatsoever. But whatever they chose, having the baby, keeping it, giving it up for adoption, all choices have hard consequences, but the important thing for women to have us choice. I love this doctor for speaking his voice and important opinions. Thank you for speaking up for women.

    I appreciate your calm commentary on this topic so I think you could handle feedback maturely more than other CZcams commentators. The arguments that “some people aren’t fit to be parents”, “a child costs $250,000 to raise”, “woman shouldn’t be forced to do anything”, and “do what makes you happy” are not evidence for your stance on abortion. If there was medical evidence that a fetus has the same rights as any human, that abortion is the same as murder, these thoughts would not matter.
    So please, provide peer reviewed medical definitions (like what fetus, baby, consciousness means), evidence on both sides of the argument, and then present your reason for being pro-choice.

    I don't know where that one girl got her stats from, but that is absolutely not true. Studies have shown time and time again that depression (or any negative feelings at all) in women who have had abortions is very rare, except in cases where they were forced to do so by either a partner or a parent. When women make the choice themselves, the predominant feeling associated with it is *relief* .

    When does a human life begin? Why don’t children in the womb, babies in your own words, get human rights and protections from violence?
    You cite social status with the mother as the superior, but isn’t that just fascism?

    Dr. Ryan seems very reasonable and is good at keeping his philosophical and medical opinions separate. But I hope since posting this he has reconsidered his position. The most important question to the debate, “is the fetus a human person?” I’d like to see him talk to a well thought out pro-life philosopher. I’d be happy to suggest some.

    So do you support abortion only in cases of rape, incest or where the mother's life is at risk? Or also cases of convenience where it is just "easier" to not have the baby? Are you against late term abortions and if so what changed with the baby from earlier on in the pregnancy?

  • @Make_Australia_British_Again

    If you’re a doctor you should be pro life. You’re meant to preserve life, not encourage people to take it.

    • @luvblueybingoheeler3150
      @luvblueybingoheeler3150 Před 2 lety +3

      He is pro life. He saving life life. What if abortion is need for medical reasoning and you can only save one ? Why should one lose their life to something that is a live as a jellyfish? Most pro choice people are against late term abortion and it’s done super early. If you are pro life, then I hope you are vegan. Farm animals have emotions. Someone in the veggie state can feel pain.

    • @michael7174
      @michael7174 Před 2 lety +3

      @@luvblueybingoheeler3150 Most pro-life people would abortion in the situation of saving the mother's life is a permissable, although everything should be done to deliver the baby and give it the same medical attention as any other baby would receive, if that is possible, while saving the mother's life. So that is not the pro-life argument at all.
      And of course "pro-life" refers to pro-human life. The pro-life position elevates all human life to the same standard - ALL human life. If life begins at conception then this is where the line needs to be drawn.
      I agree with the original comment that the doctor should be trying to preserve human life, not encourage ending innocent life.
