I never made my best guy friend ( future husband ) pay for anything. I fed him at our house in fact because his parents struggled too. We paid him to mow our lawn too. We took bike rides, fed ducks cheap bread, and had picnics. He's treated me to dinners 10,000 times in the 37 years we've been married. Not all girls are lucky enough to find a cheapskate that will stay like that. We were both thrifty. It's paid off we paid off two houses early and just got a car with cash last year. We love a save down time it's like the bad old hungry days. Bless.

So many free things to do. Going to the park, the beach, having a picnic, going to the drive inn, hanging out with friends. You don't need to have a lot of money to have a good time. I personally don't like it when men try to impress me with dates. Impress me with how you treat me and how much fun we can have.

Definitely capitalize on the time you have now to get a little experience in some side hustles like he had mentioned that could turn into main hustles later so that you always have those flexibilities if anything happens in your career track you're focusing on with college. You'd be surprised how valuable that is - even comparable in value to your formal education. I'm saying this as a millennial that saw my generation put all their eggs in one basket and get stuck both in career and financially. Now I'm seeing with AI that in a couple decades or less, my career focus might get phased out for the most part.

Not to discredit Gabe (he's doing fantastic), but some majors are a lot more demanding than education to the point where even part time work isn't reasonable.
A young guy like this should not be broke dating. Establish yourself, your career, pay off debts, build emergency reserves, save for a home and then consider whether it's worth dating.
Well, once you get to the home and see how hard it is to pay off and then how easily you can lose it in a divorce...dating should go out the window at that point. lol

We never had debt and we're both mature enough to adjust when things get hard like these last year. She's now at home doing what she loves to do, while i work from home with more than enough salary to be comfortable.
Absolutely! A single rose occasionally is just as special (if not more) as a dozen that all die at the same time. Romance doesn't need to be expensive, it may have even more heartfelt meaning when there's sincere thoughtfulness invested.

Usually something small, but tastefully done (by me, I used to work at a florist). Does NOT have to be expensive if done well. Sometimes I'd pick wildflowers from our yard and arrange them with a bit of flair. She told me that her co-workers (mostly women) were envious, and that their husbands were PISSED about hearing their wives go on about it! Lord, I miss her so.

Area dependent. Our houses we manage have been 91%+ occupied since beginning of the year. And we're booked up to mid-august so far, and many bookings in Q1 of 2024 too! The airbnbs that wont last are the ones who dont treat it as a business!!

I'm glad his gf is down for the cause. My husband and I are on our debt free journey, so we decided on Costco dates. We each get a slice of pizza, a hotdog, and soda for $7.89. A date for under $8 is what I call it. Then, we pay a monthly subscription to the movies. We can go out every week for under $100. I can't wait for my debt free scream! đđđ

3 jobs + school is crazy but temporarily for baby steps 1-3 not impossible idea. To do anything of the kind to pay dates hell no. If the relationship suffers for you not spending enough the woman is someone you propably shouldn't have relationship with, especially if she knows his situation.

There are ~400 students at the end of sophomore year, but only 300 seat in the Junior class.
You don't want to get a Letter of Denial.
Also, school occupies 14 hours a day, 6 days a week, including summers.
I had 2 jobs during college. Idk how he does 3, but it's doable to attend college and work.
I worked 30+ hours a week as a full time student.. cry me a river my man. Just say you weren't built for it.
I worked a bit in college, just side job stuff, but I had a support system. A friend worked 2 jobs in college on full credits bc she didnt have any support system.
My college semesters of 18-23 credit hrs certainly did not take 14 hrs a day, 6 days a week, that's just comical.

hour for dinner, homework till 1030, sleep, repeat.
7.5 hours, 3 days/wk for 15 credits

If the young lady he is dating is into HIM and is not into getting what she can out of him, I think she would be agreeable to having a hotdog and a walk in the park. I have seen videos of girls who complain because they were not taken, on their FIRST date, to a restaurant where the bill would be in the neighborhood of three or four hundred dollars. Exactly! You can get creative - or just FIND creative dates online. I even found one for a "Dollar Tree" date that sounded like fun. And if she is quality, she will reciprocate and plan fun, inexpensive dates as well. Honestly, a third job in college? That's really pushing it...he says he feels great, so I would suggest move forward but with caution. He needs time to study and make the most of his education...and sleep!

I personally got lucky with an older woman. Many of my peers of my age are struggling and working multiple jobs just to make ends meet and keep up with a lifestyle of either traveling, children, and mortgages. Or, all of the above.
