Only issue I have with all matches is the moves that used to finish a match are now being kicked out of and for this match after all those bumps it ends with a ring ding. C'mon !
Is MJF our generation's version of Ric Flair? Making his name not being in WWE/WWF, being so good on the mic, but being able to go an hour in the ring, being able to be the best heel, but also being a great babyface to get behind, at the right time. He's really turning into an all time great.

In my opinion he proves that he is the man in AEW. Just like Flair back in the day. He can tell a story with anyone and wrestle any type of match. He is proving that he is definitely a generational wrestler.

You know a match is great when you want to immediately watch it again. I had a hard time focusing on the rest of the show cause I was so blown away by that incredible match.

Agree. I find it funny when AEW first debuted everyone was loving it because WWE wasn't any good back then now WWE is killing and it's like fuck AEW. Yes they didn't help there situation by doing the dumb shit they did which drove a lot of fans away.

MJF vs Ospreay is the best AEW singles match so far. FTR vs Jay & Juice is the best tag match so far. Both of them are just works of art.
I hope that Tony will let professional bookers to book the storylines as AEW needs to thrive in order for keeping the business competitive.

It's already up there as one of their best for sure but I'd say their best match is still Cody vs Dustin Rhodes from the first Double or Nothing. People can give AEW all the shit they want but they've easily had some of the best singles matches of the last decade like Darby vs MJF, Danielson's match with Omega, his draw with Adam Page, the match between the Rhodes brothers I just mentioned and the Iron Man match between Danielson and MJF just to name a few and even some truly incredible tag matches like the FTR/Young Bucks series, FTR vs Bullet Club Gold and Page and Omega vs The Young Bucks. Sure they have some questionable booking decisions on almost every show but the good that's on them often borders on incredible especially with some of the big matches they have and I know that's just my opinion, so you don't have to agree with it but it's hard to argue at least to me. This just proves MJF's point as to why he says he's a generational talent because he truly is and some of the matches he's had is the evidence and Ospreay is just incredible no matter which way you slice it

The thing is, no one ever said AEW doesn't have talented wrestlers. If anything, the reason ppl go so hard at AEW is BECAUSE they've mostly been such a momentual waste of potential and money.
Two talented wrestlers, especially if they're willing to take crazy spots that a dopamine addict Millenial or Gen Z-er needs, can put on a good singles match. We WANT MJF, Ospreay and others to come to the real big leagues because it's crystal fuckin clear what their potential is.
But the GREATEST matches that have been agreed upon across generations of wrestling fans and wrestlers alike, have been matches with a well-done story behind it and high wrestling IQ.
AEW has failed at those two things far too many times, on top of their actual issues behind the curtain due to the Pakistani Richie Rich and his being a mark.
AEW is fast food with an experimental menu. They have "food" for people who have the munchies. They're 7-Eleven, Jack In The Box and Wawa mixed in one. Is there a place for that? Sure. So long as you don't compare it to the top-tier "restaurants" of the past and present.
MJF saying easy dub at the end really popped me. Loved in his match with Danielson when they're head to head and Danielson is all 😂 and MJF was all 😩
a million moves, a million near falls, a flat single punch finish.
Great match last night like to see were it goes next. Still think Omega Danielson Grand Slam is my favorite imo. Yes it was a draw but the atmosphere and Kenny trying not to smile when 20k people where losing there minds. AEW cant go back to having banger matches for no reason there finally telling some stories. AEW still has a lot of work to do to get people back to trusting them again.
I've never been a big fan of the longer matches that go close to 60 minutes but MJF and Ospreay kept me hooked through the whole match. It was complete chaos and fun. The little girl getting her punches in on MJF and MJF flips her off was great. I have this match right behind Omega vs Danielson for top Dynamite matches
My favorite match in AEW was Sammy Guevara vs. Jay Lethal. That was amazing. Totally forgot about. It only went 12 minutes but it was gorgeous.
One of the big successes of the match was that a Wembley rematch is probably more anticipated than a first meeting would have been had that Dynamite match not happened
Only if it was for the world title, the main event and Ospreay goes over in front of his home crowd. But i doubt TK will book this 😏

I keep hearing “greatest match of all time” in relation to certain AEW matches, but because those matches have VERY little build and no storyline stakes they are forgotten about in a week or two. Same thing will happen here.
There was plenty of storyline here. MJF was out with injury for 6 months and came back and was a hero to the people. He wanted to have a match with Daniel Garcia at the biggest stage of the year. But then Will Osrpeay comes out, the big free agent signee, the guy who MJF sees as "tried to take his spot", and International Champion, comes out and challenges Daniel Garcia. MJF took offense and beat up and turned on Daniel Garcia going back to his scumbag nature. And MJF defeated Ospreay for the belt. The story has been building for a while man.
@@BlackBoyKingTV And I'm pretty sure it's all to help finally push Garcia up the card because he's the most over he's been at this point and he'll get a huge reaction when he returns, likely at All In to screw MJF out of the title if these two have a rematch, which they damn well should as it would give Ospreay his moment and also further the MJF/Garcia story.
@@BlackBoyKingTVnot the story between Osprey and MJF. Trying to create a story retroactively doesn’t really do much. This match should have been a PPV headliner, but it seemed to be rushed. If it’s enough story for you, that’s cool. But the truly memorable matches usually are also the result of a feud or something that’s been building between the wrestlers.
Throwing around phrases like “match of the year” or “greatest match of all time” need to factor in those things as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure this was ok, as MJF is great and usually tries to deliver in those other areas that others in AEW seem less concerned with, but I’ve only been hearing about MJF and Osprey for a tiny bit.
@@hectic105 this match was one of the nost technivally sound matches AEW has ever done. I've always though MJF could wrestler and he keeps surprising me every match. He and Ospreay had tremendous chemistry. Its definitely in the top 2 matches in Dynamite history
AEW has the WCW problem. They might have better wrestling or the best match of the month/week/year compared to WWE. But WWE has the long term interesting stories.
You guys know your matches. I'm a fan of both Ospray and MJF. For them to kick off Dynamite with this match, I knew something was up. Both wrestlers didn't play off as they were going to wrestle it for an hour. it seemed like it could end at any minute during. I don't care what's the promotion is, but matches like these just spoil us, fans, loved it.

Great match that i didn't really care about. This is why long good storylines and not rushing everything matters. But really good match but could you imagine with an actual build and good storyline. Probably would've drew even better ratings.

When I started with Johnny Rodz in 2008 we did Hell Week which was an hour training match for the week of training
It was an incredible match. All AEW need to do now is really get the story telling going a little but more. But wow. Ospreay has given AEW a whole new lease of life. Including MJF.
Loved it! Pacing for a match that long was impeccable. The moves meant something from beginning to end.
Two generational talents that aren't even at their full potentials yet.

That hardest thing about an hour long AEW match is that in the middle of a lot of good stuff, there's going to be a number of bad looking sidekicks and weak looking forearms delivered. The wait time that happens to set up the gymnastics also takes away from the festivities.

I’ve been watching Osprey since he was a jr in NJPW so it doesn’t surprise me when he has fantastic matches.
I just wish they saved it for All In

It’s AEW, not of all time in all pro wrestling. And this was a damn good match. Even the break moments were used well. And I’m no AEW mark lol. I mostly don’t like AEW, & the truth is the truth, this was a great match.

I dont watch aew but ive heard of this match all over social media kind of hard to ignore. I was planning on watching aew again until I seen several comments saying this match will single handedly put wwe in the dirt.why why everytime i think of getting back into the product the Fans not Tony or the wrestlers but fans push me away from wanting to give aew another chance. Its like they dont want new viewers.

This match should have been a PPV match it gives me Hogan vs Goldberg for the title on Nitro announced days before instead of being on PPV
I do agree but with how MJF won, this does leave room for a potential rematch between the two at All In so Ospreay could regain the title in front of his home country likely after Daniel Garcia returns and costs MJF the title to further their feud. That could've happened here with Ospreay retaining but they're probably waiting until then at the very earliest to bring Garcia back because it could be a star-making feud for him and they don't wanna bring him back too early.

@Colt2OO2 Garcia isn't a big enough draw yet. But give it time and the right ingredients to cook up what's needed in order to achieve it. For example...
Let's say that Garcia is left out of any title pictures for the time being because of what MJF did to him and since he's on a losing streak atm. Perhaps...he shows up at All In to screw over MJF and helps Ospreay reclaim the AEW International Championship in front of his home country. That would be a big moment, for sure. However...
What's bigger and better? Keeping Garcia out until after, let's say...Danielson defeats and dethrones Strickland to become the new AEW World Champion. Garcia idolizes and respects Danielson more than any other wrestler in the business. They could begin a program together, with Danielson inviting Garcia to join the BCC one last time. Garcia would then go on to have more wins and get over with the crowds. Eventually...he would find himself face to face with Danielson for the world title.
They could take a long time to build up a proper storyline, with Danielson dropping the gold at maybe Double or Nothing. Two things would make this a monumental deal. Danielson would be putting over someone he wants to pass the torch to and Garcia would be launched to the stratosphere by going over his idol to become a first time world champ in AEW...but it would also be massive since Garcia would be retiring Danielson in the process! Imho this would create the most buzz and achieve the biggest success for all parties involved.
I believe that Will oespray will hit that tiger driver on mjf I’m ready for mjf and oespray 2 then mjf the most best heel ever in professional wrestling

As someone that hasn't seen Ospreay vs MJF 1... or any MJF match for that matter... I want them to run it back. The amount of buzz around this match will make me FINALLY watch a MJF match and knowing that Ospreay has his ultimate attack for round 2 is enough to sell me on this fued.

Reminded me of HBK v Cena from Raw almost 20 years ago that is one of the best matches of all time and didn't have any gimmick attached.
This didn't need the gimmick. If it would've said 2 minute warning and it ended 30 secs before the end the way it did, wouldn't have an issue
HBK vs Cena in England on RAW was far better than the bout they had at WM23. It’s a gem that happened thanks to Orton not being able to make it to the show. AEW has many great matches on their weekly shows but MJF vs Ospreay just topped it.

Enjoyed it on many levels but particularly the last 30seconds - the very very weird ref bump / play dead / then hyper alert for the count and then dead again - really affected my enjoyment of it. A little too much repeated roll-throughs silliness when they could have held the line on seriousness. The moves they kicked out of in very rapid sequence should end any match but the d-ring ends it...??? brilliant skill and technique but didn't like the execution of the finish.

I am so sick and tired of Bully Ray and Dreamer bitching about reffing in AEW. They used to say, back in ECW the rules were relaxed because that's how we did thing. ITS BEEN 5 FUCKING YEARS! HOW HAVE YOU NOT REALIZED THATS HOW AEW DOES THINGS?! Bully Ray has yet to find an AEW match he wont find 1 small thing to nitpick and complain about (Talking about his BOAD segment).
AEW Gave us more in-ring wrestling in 1 match than we got from WWE Raw in 3 hours. That was a fantastic match. My dad, who's 68 and doesn't watch wrestling but did go to a Dynamite this year with me, called me up asking me if I was watching this match because he was so impressed with how great it was. He said he was up on his feet.
That was an amazing match and I haven't really been a fan of AEW lately.

One thing that I really didn't like about this match well actually 2 1 is Bruv using the styles clash as a regular move in a match. That's one of the most Phenomenal finishers in wrestling today. 2 I feel it didn't need to be so long cause it DEFINITELY doesn't make me want to see a part 2...
Nah, Kevin Owens used Eddie Guerrero, Stone Cold and Jeff Hardy’s finishers and transtionals moves. But the WWE fanboys don’t bring it up. They picking at Straws cause Will Ospreay is the best wrestler alive not in WWE.
@@ishmael802Here's the difference. Owens reached out to Stone Cold, Vickie Guerrero and Jeff Hardy and asked their permission. GUARANTEED Ospreay didn't do that with AJ because AEW doesn't respect the history of the business. The Old Bucks and Onega have shit all over the business for years

Was great for the first third or fourth of the match, MJF working the crowd was great, both men's athleticism and cardio was impressive, but the match lost me after a while. I can handle length, but I can't handle watching guys take a billion finishers, a lot which are stolen, a lot that are modified from the turn buckle or down on the ring apron, and then them kicking out over and over and over and over and over and over...Sorry, but this match stopped being a pro wrestling match and it went full video game. It couldn't have been less believable by the end. And I say this as a fan of the guys.
How can you buy it when on of these two wrestlers lose clean another 20 less minutes match after this??

@romelmunoz7957 Yeah, there were other things about that match that bothered me too. Like I absolutely loved when Will was selling the leg early so well and it became the story of the match. MJF was pure sadistic slime, Will was fighting valiantly, and then...they basically ignored it the second half of the match to do a billion more moves? I can see why agents/producers are so important now. These two men are tremendous talents but they need people to reel them in.

I know this take is going to get some heat, but why would this be the greatest? Granted the match was spectacular and both are extremely talented but I was lect with the feeling that they sh@t on almost everyone's finisher. Not one 'finisher' resulted in a 3 count and it took a foreign object to end it. If anything this match hurt the business.
