When Maldives converted to Islam. No war was taken place. Later it was Portuguese who tried to convert Muslims to Christianity forcefully. But their plane didn't work because people retaliated. Indonesians used to believe that having many children is a blessing, most of our grand parents had many children. Even my grand mother had 12 siblings. But they also teach Islam really well to their children. That's also one of the reasons that Indonesia has the most muslim population. And of course there are also some of us who are ignorant to our own religion, but let's talk about that later. Hopefully, we keep improving to be better muslims. 🤗

Sometimes many people hate Islam and mock it. say Islam is a bad religion. Those of you who may have said that, please go to Indonesia. Indonesia still maintains and accommodates other religions. Culture and Tradition have also succeeded in uniting us. We have the motto "Different but still one". It doesn't matter if you fight to insult each other's religion, we in Indonesia just laugh seeing you insulting each other's beliefs. We are enveloped in peace.
The western media are jealous of the harmony between race, ethnicity, culture, and religion slandering Indonesia. There have been a lot of Indonesian news that say Indonesia is racist with the Chinese race. In fact it is only a handful of "tribal" individuals and not in the name of religion and faith. And the people are not many (still can be counted on the fingers). America will not be able to imitate Indonesian Harmony. We have black skin, white skin, tan skin, race, culture, religion, but we can still unite and love each other.
I'm Indonesian and here are actually have some footstone that pointing the Religion of Islam has came and influeced even on 8th century in the earlier period of Khilafah. Especially in aceh and medan that in Sumatera Island. FYI that in the past this archipelago called Nusantara, spreaded from Malaysia, Brunei, Phillipines, South Thailand and Indonesia now. So, may give you another prespective of it.

I'm Indonesian and i'm also always learning new stuf about muslim population, like for instances the beautiful island of Maldives ,i didnt know that they are also an Islam majority country until recently when i saw Drew's travel youtube video :) always a joy to learn about my brothers and sisters

@@jyde50 There are many ex muslims in Indonesia, like the movie star Idris Sardi, he is perfectly fine. Indonesians are free to choose their religion. But, alhamdullilah, there are many more reverts to Islam.
I'm really thankful to all ASEAN descent in the history who accepted Islam to their life and transferred ISLAM to us as the way of life. May Allah provides you all the wide and light graves.

The very first time Islam came to Indonesia were took place in barus by trade around 700 AD. Some historian said that Prophet Muhammad was still alive at the time.
Peoples of barus in west coast of north sumatra were know from their trading kaffur with egypt even before AD century.There is an ayah in Quran mention this product.
Another way Islam came to Indonesia by yemen, india traders. Around 1400 AD scholars from west sumatra began spread Islam to thailand until philipines. There are historical evidence on that places.

We malays can proudly said that we are all Muslim,even Arab could not achieve that,there are still christians Arab but we malay are Muslim people and we associates our race with islam.you can't be a malay if you are not Muslim.

Most Hindu/Budhist Kingdoms in Indonesia becoming a Sultanate are through Marriage. King or member of Noble married to son/daughter of Muslim trader. The rest is because an internal conflict between family member.

No, 25 years of living in Indonesia I have never seen historians and academics who said like what you said, The length of Indonesia is equal to the distance between the UK and the Middle East so one volcano erupts does not change significantly.
No... not at all. When krakatoan erupted in 1883, Islam had alredy exist almost 1000 years. No pagans were wiped out, infact.. a lot of ducth army and moslems were killed in south sumatra and north java bacause of krakatoa's location is between those 2 island on the ocean.
Around 1500 AD, from south of thailand, malaysia, indonesia until Philipines most of the peoples were adopted Islam freely not by swords. Even the leader of demak in java came to istanbul and pledged that demak was under khilafah usthmani authority. Than chinese tried to attack java, but they were failed.
Than spain came and try to colonised est indonesia but british army pushed them and took east indonesia. When spain with dutch were on war, the quen of dutch fleed to england and they made trade, dutch gave new york ( in america) to england and england gave east indonesia to dutch.
portuguese came and they got east timor( now become a country of timor leste in 1999). French failed because of dutch had already colonised Indonesia especially most of java from 1600 AD.
Than 1942 japan defeated dutch and took over Indonesia until 1945. For almost 400 years many nations tried to took over Indonesia, a loooot of muslims died for this beautifull country.
The only place that pagan still exist in Indoneias is bali. Islam is still remain in Indonesia until now from the first time came around 700 AD by trade of kaffur materials in barus ( according to historian based on physical evidence in barus)
In central java there's a city called kudus before Islam entered this city the majority of the population was Hindu, when Islam entered the city of kudus, there's an agreement between the newly converted Muslim n Hindu population.. and the agreement was that the Muslim will not eat, kill or sell meat of a cow or beef in the city of kudus, and this agreement is still upheld to this very day... even though the Hindu population is pretty much non existent in this city... That's respect and tolerance of another religion.
