I was at this show!! First and only time I have ever seen this amazing band. Before that evening I had never heard of them. After that I was a fan for life. Wishing you all health and happiness. Please come back to Chicago as soon as you are able!!

I just think it’s so neat to see an Irish trad/ folk group do an American folk song! So often, American folk just gets lumped in with Irish/Scottish folk as just being another offshoot, but it’s more than that. With American folk, you get these indigenous and African American influences to the cadence of the chords and the way the melody dances that makes it so unique as a part of the folk genre

Hard to believe but Radie actually plays 3 different instruments during this performance at least 2 of which at the same time!! Remarkable.

A song nobody knows where came from but has just been brought to a level that equals the great Luke Kelly and the Dubliners. Well done, amazing.

The song was made in the 19th century by the composer D. K. Gavan

The intro to Bear Creek absolutely floors me. I have had it on loop for weeks. The only other intro that’s ever sucked me in like that is Us and Them by Pink Floyd.

Lankum - always hauntingly beautiful music with hypnotic beat and drone tones. Crappy video quality - but who cares; it's the music that counts

Eber Fish it's not a professional video, just something I recorded on my phone.

@@TheodoricDiabolique So many thanks for sharing. If the music is really good and emotionally moving I very frequently listen with my eyes closed. The video quality really doesn't count in such cases

"Bear Creek" from the new album, "The Livelong Day", after "Rocky Road to Dublin"......yes? Or was all of this 'Rocky Road...' and then they cleaved off the last part...?

No disrespect Luc, but you obviously don’t know what your talking about, the first thing I thought was the sound mix is excellent, considering it’s probably a phone in the audience . I bet it sounded fantastic if you were in the house. They obviously take their sound seriously judging by the mic selection and the fact they have no stage monitors ( they must have in ear monitoring). Not having stage monitors improves the detail and quality of sound in the house so much, I wish I had been there.

Great sound but she should have been turned down a bit as she was more of a harmony rather than the lead.

By today's shallow generation definitions Lankum look like the biggest bunch of scruffs in the music world. These modern well groomed talent show wannabees all just look like dead tailors dummies. But it is the music and real creativity that count. In these aspects Lankum are the height of Mount Everest above all these well turned out purveyors of throwaway music garbage.
