I swear if you don't put Love Henry on the next Lankum album I'll... um, fix myself a cuppa tea and stare at the wall, I guess
Fighting talk .... careful with that cuppa tea!
Oxn ❤
how wonderful! i adore radie and her wonderful voice!!! thank you for this!
If Radie Peat wants to come to the States and sing "Young Girl Cut Down in Her Prime" -- well, for better or for worse, we could really use it! : /
Donkeys from now when we've all been relegated to the past tense there'll be heads listening to these songs, or variations of these interpretations, and feeling jealous of the lucky feckers who were there to see and hear them first. That's us, and I find that quite class.
Cheers to Radie & ITMA 🍻
We find that quite class too! Stay in touch and hopefully you'll continue to feel lucky!
Well, for sure; they'll also likely have all of Lankum's recordings too.
Oh wow. This would be a wonderful series itself just on these types of songs
Well done ITMA. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Great Darren. Cormac Begley, Caitlín Nic Gabhann, Daori Farrell are in the making!
This whole video is such gold, thank you Radie & thank you ITMA ❤️ where can I find the original lyrics of Young Girl Cut Down In Her Prime? I can't make out the start of the first verse that Radie sings.
Massive appreciation for this program 🙏💚✨
Delighted you enjoyed Radie's episode of Drawing from the Well. This link brings you to the song on the Mainly Norfolk site - if you scroll to the bottom a variety of versions and words are given. Hope this does the trick and you are singing it soon. mainlynorfolk.info/shirley.collins/songs/younggirlcutdowninherprime.html

Great interview and performances. Do you think the individual songs will be shared? Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find the song she's referring to at 6:51? Lizzy one/wan/won? idk lol
Its called Lizie Wan
The heroine (called variously Lizie, Rosie or Lucy) is pregnant with her brother's child. Her brother murders her. He tries to pass off the blood as that of some animal he had killed (his greyhound, his falcon, his horse), but in the end must admit that he murdered her. He sets sail in a ship, never to return
Interview is lovely but any chance we can find the songs separately and uninterrupted?
Hi Laszlo, thanks for getting in touch. I will check if any full versions can be shared, and get back to you.
@@ITMAVideos any more news on this? I know so many of us would absolutely cherish the uncut versions
“I’m in love for the first time and I don’t feel bad “ ...

@@ITMAVideos most welcome just subbed
It sure sounds like the mountain music of West Virginia
When they were talking What Put The Blood and Edward, what was the other song, Lizzie what?
Hi Donnacha, it was Lizie Wan / Lucy Wan / Fair Lizzie

@@ITMAVideos thanks very much, brilliant program
5 min 40 secs, ‘the cutting of a rod’ ~ a ‘rod’, besides meaning a stick is also a land measurement. Killing your brother over that makes a lot more sense
Great to see ballads continue to spark discussion. Thanks for watching & listening!
Why is it that a small country of just 5m can produce such talent as Radie? Add to that the Mulcahy girls, Cara Dillon etc. Is it something in the air, sea or soil? Whatever it is Radie has the most amazing and unique voice of any singer alive just now. She is just absolutely brilliant.
