Ocean EL Faro has an Indoor lobby with air-condition , that makes it very comfortable if you have to sit here full dressed to get back home.But it also makes it very noisy.
Next to the reception you find an ATM, please know that you will only get Dominican Peso. You will also find the Guest services and the tables where you can meet you travel rep.
Besides the Lobby Bar there is a Piano Bar as well situated in the Lobby.
Leaving the Lobby you walk through the Hotel Strip. Specialty Restaurants on one side and Shopping, Casino, Spa, Teen Club, Bowling Alley on the other side.
Two large pools, a kids pool and Lazy River on the Family side, and two more pools on the Adult only side "El Beso"
Ocean Burger, the Snack between the two pools on the Family Side, with Hamburger and Hot Dogs.
The Main Buffet Restaurant is loud and for my liking the food was not very diverse and mostly to suit the north American taste.
I would have appreciated a little bit more European touch.
The Pools are spacious and nice, each one has a Bar, walk and swim up.
The Kids pol looks like fun, and the Lazy River is very Lazy and a lot of fun. I liked the interacting parts.
If you do not have your own float you can rent one for free, just sign with your name and bring ist back.
The Hotel Beach is something to talk about. Cliff like rocks framing a little sand area. Lot's of waves.
There is a little beautiful bay to the EL Beso side, wich is much calmer and most people go here. It is not part of Hotel and you wonder why the Hotel did not buy the land a 100 meters to the side and include it?
First time I have been to Hotel, where I already know that I will not be back.

Hi there, calmer beaches are from Lopesan on downward to Barcelo and Cabeza de Toro, also Bayahibe of course.
Regarding your food preference, can you clarify between Iberostar Dominicana or Punta Cana, please?
🤔 The Punta Cana was closed and I have only been to the Buffet of Iberostar Dominican. Regarding the Ocean El Faro and Iberostar, I found the Iberostar had a greater Variety .

Oh my gosh they have a gluten free section??? I’m celiac this is great if so.
Most of our Hotels here have a gluten free section. Some with more others with less choices , but they all try their best. Talk to people! Most of the Hotel will help.

I Hear the private beach is not good a bunch of seaweed and rocks ? Hopefully it isn’t true the resort looks great
The Beach directly in front of the resort is very small and rocky. The other spot just next to the Hotel is gorgeous!

Sorry for late reply and congratulations on your upcoming Wedding. I once worked in a Hotel that I really liked. I could eat at the Restaurants with the Guest. A small cute, little place. The only thing I thought could have been (much) better, was the food.
One day I meet the lovely couple . Repeating customers. We chatted a while how beautiful it is here and then they told me, the reason they come back to this Hotel ALL THE TIME, was the excellent and delicious food.
That day, I stoped recommending Hotels to anyone. People are just to different (Thank goodness ) You need to know whats important for YOU! We basically do not have bad hotel here, you mostly get what you pay for.
