    Hello, I am using mavic air 2. My SC is connected to wifi but there is no way how I can see maps in DJI fly, do you know how to solve this?

      First make sure all of your devices are up to date with the latest firmware. If you contact DJI through their online chat support, they can usually help you work out problems like this. They usually respond right away during normal business hours. www.dji.com/support

    Hi Bill. Is it possible to use offline maps on a
    SD Card and have the Smart Controller access them that way? Sometimes I get to places there is no cell service.

    • @BillBongle
      @BillBongle  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't know about loading them on an SD card but it is possible to pull up a map of the area you intend to fly while you are hooked up to WiFi. Just navigate to the region you intend to fly by sliding the map around with your finger. You should see the maps start to load. Make sure the cached maps option is checked in the menu.

      @BillBongle  Před rokem +1

      I think you could upload a KML file from Google earth but not sure how you would pass a file over from your phone.

    Do you have any idea why my home point and flight track would not be showing up on the map anymore? This happened just after I did the most recent update. Thanks.

      I don't but I'll try to replicate it on mine and let you know.

      @@BillBongle Hey. I figured out after getting some help from a forum that the newest version too the Fly ap has a bug that makes the map not show the home point and flight track. I was able to set it back to an earlier version and it works now. Thanks

    I’m traveling with my air 2S will I need to update the maps in my smart controller? Thanks in advance!

    • @BillBongle
      @BillBongle  Před 2 lety

      It is possible to cache the maps when you are connected to WiFi by navigating the the place you intend to fly. You can also fly without updating the maps but you will not have the advantage of having the detail. If the new location has wifi or data connection you can update at the new location. Some people connect the remote wifi to their smart phone. This will work if your phone and data plan support the hotspot capability.

    Hi Bill, you make really good videos, clear and easy to understand so people can build their knowledge. I wonder if I could ask you a question about the Smart Controller, linked to maps. When I got my first drone it was a Spark, I used iOS and Litchi, with Google Maps. Now I have upgraded to a Mavic Zoom and have a Smart controller, I’m super happy with everything apart from one thing, the Maps. When I’m in the DJI go4 app to do waypoints and such like the maps are really poor, very outdated and not very detailed or clear for planning missions. Is there a way to use Google maps on the smart controller? If there is please share it as my experience with litchi set the bar with the maps, now I have a better drone and controller but poor maps😀
    Thanks Jason (UK)

      Thanks, I am glad to know you found value in the videos. You know, that's a great question. The smart remote is very similar to the Crystal Sky Monitor so here's something I tried on the Crystal Sky. I was able to go to the google play store and download and install google services then google maps. I have not tried accessing these services in DJI Go 4 yet but it works with the Autel Explorer. No guarantee this will work. Good luck!

    • @BillBongle
      @BillBongle  Před 3 lety +1

      @@dirtygravy4172 Yes it does work. The last update I did on the Enterprise model allowed me to download a cached map in advance of my flight. Remember, you will need to have a wifi and internet connection for this to work. Thanks.
