- Wood splitting can be very tedious and tiring, so I decided to make a kinetic wood splitter.
I tried to use the materials I had in the workshop, which made it an inexpensive project.
The log splitter is very fast and surprisingly powerful.
While doing this project, I didn't think it would be such a powerful machine.
The main frame is 100x100x3mm square tube.
The legs are made of a 40x40x3 square tube
The flywheel is 300mm in diameter and the pulley for the motors is 60mm. With 2800 rpm of the engine, it gives us the rotation of the shaft driving the rail of 560 rpm.
The flywheel weighs 20 kg.
The toothed racks (not hardened) are module 3 and have a length of 500mm + 60mm with a welded piece of steel.
The gears (only teeth hardened) are also module 3 and have 12 teeth each.
The whole thing weighs less than 100 kg.
Hello our dear subscribers :)
You deserve a few words of explanation why the activity on the channel was so low lately.
I got married almost two months ago and there was a lot of preparation about it, then my wife and I went on a short honeymoon. In addition, there was a move to another city, which also took a lot of time.
After returning to everyday life, I started a new project. Unfortunately, after almost three weeks of work, it turned out that it did not work as it should, and I had to stop working on it for the moment. I quickly started working on a new project. It took me about 8 working days and finally we have a new machine and therefore a new video.
I can't promise you anything, but we will try to increase the frequency of adding videos.
Thanks for being here.
Best regards.
Darek
Siema 👏💪👍🤠
Just be yourself and work at your own pace, Darek. With the pride you take and the consideration you have in your products, every single video is a big treat so no worry there
Congratulations. I'm happy for you. Keep up the great work!
Powodzenia na Nowej Drodze Życia, pozdrów Małżonkę :-). Z niecierpliwością czekam na kolejne filmy, pozdrawiam
Congratulations Darek on your new Bride!!! 👰♀ say hello to her from Jay👋. Brother, you work at your own pace, I'll be here no matter if you only post every three months. AWESOME BUILD!!! 👍👍
First off Congratulations on the marriage. secondly, I have been watching your videos for years, and I must say your fabrication skills and truly incredible. Thank you for the constant out put of amazing builds.
Truly a awesome video, no unnecessary "banter," just a rapid, skillful build!
This channel could easily be called "Work Smarter Not Harder!" I love your ingenuity and the things you build. Nice work! 👍
Don't worry about it. Glad you are back and congrats. That log splitter seems powerful enough to have a longer blade. Great work as always.
I was thinking at first why go through all the trouble of doing it this way rather than just hydraulics, but then I realized this is much faster than those. Nice work. I like the use of the flywheel effect to provide inertia. It's very much like having a mechanical splitting maul.
Good job bro! Congrats for 1M!👨🏭
Thanks Buddy:)
"Imponuje mi to co robi Darek i chciałbym robić u niego za ucznia" :D, a tak na poważnie bardzo podziwiam pomysłowość i wykonanie.
A obecnie uczysz się na elektryka?
@@przemo1428 Jestem dumnym studentem pierwszego roku elektroniki więc prawie :D
Absolutely a true genius and an incredibly talented fabricator. Nice work
Beautiful work with attention to even the smallest details, congratulations (this is not good if you live in an apartment)
Uwielbiam takie produkcje, jestem pod wrażeniem. 👏👏👏
Maszyna na czasie ,świetna robota!!!!!
Man that would be an awesome day to have all that equipped to work with. Blessed man/company.
O kurcze ale fantastyczny sprzęt świąteczno-imprezowy. Dzień w dzień ognisko i pieczone kiełbaski. Szacun! Szacun za pomysł, szacun za chęci i przede wszystkim za park maszynowy. Bez niego te wszystkie cuda nie byłyby realne do stworzenia. Pozdrawiam.
Always awesome and inspiring work!! I always look forward to your videos. I love those Fire Ball shims and squares, they are great tools.
Well, once again, you've made us feel so inadequate when working on our simple projects. Not many can do what you accomplish, even if they have the same tools. Congrats on the marriage!
Very good craftsmanship here. This is a dying skill and you should have two apprentices working with you to learn what talent you have. I’m retired now and I have done the same work you performed. Long live the Boilermakers and Ship builders. My hat is off to you .
It's very cool that you chose the silent video format. As a native speaker of another language, I am glad that I can easily view your videos.
Thank you, very good work.
Congrats on the nuptials. Looks like the DR Kinetic Log Splitter inspired you to make one with heavy duty materials. Kudos to your innovative engineering.
greating!
Super maszyna! Pomysłowość i wykonanie klasa! 😁
No stupid two hand operation safety BS. Quick, powerful and efficient. Good work!
Works like a charm. Fast and no hydraulic oil to spill. love it.
Very nice and congratulations! If I may. I think you could offer this for commercial sale with the addition of an interlock safety button depressed by the operators free hand. Nicely done sir!
Widząc miniaturkę myślałem że to jakiś filmik reklamowy maszyny seryjnej. A tu takie zaskoczenie. Mega profesjonalne 💪
Whenever I see a new Made in Poland video I stop what I'm doing and click. Excellent little log splitter, Looks very handy and powerful.
Thanks man!
Simply Amazing, the Speed that Piston comes out at is a bit scary tho. Keep your Hands Safe, you will need them to show us more of your Amazing Builds! Keep it up!
An easy CYA on the design with somethinng like this would be a second mechanical safety that must be engaged or disengaged like a spring pin release, thus using the second hand. That way nobody could ever accidentally crush their hand though it would really slow down the usage and make balancing the wood for more accurate. That would only be if I were making it for somebody else. He built it so I'm sure he knows what it's capable of.
No piston. See video, toothed rack and pinion
@@jwiereng Mechanically driven with intense pressure. No piston necessary to crush hand. Already watched video.

Congrats on getting married. Just celebrated our 28th anniversary this summer. Some bumpy times here and there but we’re hanging in!
I’ve just discovered your channel and am really impressed by your creativity and technical expertise.
One thing you might consider for this splitter is some kind of lock for the handle that requires a deliberate motion to move or squeeze - like a lever or button.
The reason I say this is that when moving the wood you could accidentally hit the handle, activate the ram, and crush your hand. It looks like this nearly happened at 15:20 when removing split wood from the machine.
An "Automatic Axe"... There's a phrase I've never heard before. But I like it!! Also, love watching you work with steel- I've never had a project come together as smoothly as yours seem to.
Beautiful work as always. Congratulations and may God bless your family.
Gratulacje za milion subskrypcji. Teraz lecisz po następny milion :)
Man I love your work.....so inspirational !! I wish you could post a video every day !! Also congratulations on 1 million subscribers !! My opinion you should have had that many long ago you have a AWESOME channel !! Always a great video and a cool project !! Totally a quick Log Splitter very nice work !! 👍👍
You take away all the fun with the old " How many Polish does it take" jokes. More like how many normal people does it take to do what you do lol. Been binge watching your channel for days now. So amazing what you do.
As always great! It's nice to follow the work. Good luck!
jak zwykle potężny projekt!
Will this cinematic log splitter be for your new house in another town?
I currently live in an apartment, but when I build a house, it will certainly come in handy :D

Nice project bro!
Congrats on reaching 1M subs
Love your vids, dude, and your talents are tops! Cheers and “carry-on”! 🤓
That took quiet a bit of engineering and skill. Nicely done and a bit scary. ☠🥩🩸
Of all CZcams content providers you deserve 1 MILLION subscribers Derek! Congratulation on your Wedding too!!!
Almost ready for the great recycling. Good on you!
Congrats on getting married. The one thing I will say (from experience) is to always communicate with your wife. Things will go smoother if you both are one the same page. Thanks for the video. God Bless the both of you.
Thanks. God bless you to.
Wife's are the worst
Juz wiem czemu ten gość tyle potrafi zrobić! W 12:30 widać że ma trzy ręce 😃
First, a hearty congratulations on your marriage. May God richly bless you. Second, as always, another great video. The only bad part is how down I feel when it ends. You showed me a fantastic way to do a long slot on the lathe. I never considered using the tool platform to hold the material. I really enjoyed this timely project. It's nearing winter in the U.S. and it will come in handy. Cheers.😁
Thanks! God bless you to! :)
Your brilliant mind and amazing skills never cease to amaze me! Another project well done!

Darek: Yes.
😀
Bravo! Another excellent demonstration of skill and craftsmanship. Congratulations on the marriage last year.
Your slot marking technique is genius! I've never seen that and it is so simple and right there. Thank You for that! The Tensioner! More genius! The Motor will never drift.
I agree. Easy way to do slots.
Yup. He nearly lost his right hand at 15:18 when he bumped that lever with the log.
Super łuparka, masz niesamowite pomysły, tak trzymaj :)) Gratuluje miliona subskrybentów , pozdrawiam :)
Looks awesome ❗️

Piękna robota
As always, magnificent engineering and construction!
Amazing work, dude! 😃
Fantastic how it works!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nice. After seeing it wobble just a bit and also seeing how it can easily cut bigger pieces I would be wondering if i could make a roll-on ramp to the side to aid in rolling very large pieces on it and also maybe a split leg up front for stability and moreso to act as stabilizer outriggers when it down on the ground.👍
I don't believe I've ever seen an electric log splitter before, this is very cool, thanks for sharing
I've seen these for sale but never thought about how they were made. Interesting!
No need to explain Darek for your drought in video uploads mate as whenever you do share your uploads they show just how much of an outstanding craftsman that you are for such a young age too, well done mate & don't stress too much about setting routine goals on uploads, we'll appreciate all that you do when you do. Congrats on the wedding, I hope life fills you with joy in your personal life & with the work that you do.
Thank you!

It's a pleasure to watch this film. Such a substle and very fast done work. I think this machine is done for efficient people because using this is a bit dangerous.
Another great project very well done! 👏👏👏

Great job. Life goes on. A big Congratulations to you and your new wife.
Something tells me he's built a few of these before ;-) Nice build! Great idea with the double-wide rack. Should get more life from the pinion gears that way.
Cara, você é o melhor no que faz aqui no CZcams. Continue produzindo vídeos que continuarei prestigiando-os.
Budowa 10/10, świetnie przemyślałeś konstrukcję. Fajny smaczek z pokazaniem narzędzi Fireball Tools ;)
Congratulations and I hope you’re both very happy.
Brilliant job on that log splitter. I made a similar one a few years back. It works well but it’s not as pretty as yours.
This would make a fantastic attachment for an excavator or even a tractor if mounted vertically without the table. Being able to split without getting out of the cab, and ideally being able to use a front bucket to scoop up the split wood, would be very efficient
Proud of you, your fellow Pol brother from New York! Don’t give me that machine! I would toooo much fun with that and probably loose a few fingers! Lol
my uncle had a wood splitting business ...cut a at least 2 cord a day till he left the earth ...he used to rent out his splitter ...he had to put a slower pump on it cause people were losing fingers ...you are are good with tools and used to running dangerous stuff...if you rented that out some might get mad but they wouldn't be able to give you the finger ....great build i like that idea better then hydraulics ..if something brakes you can weld it rather then figure out a bunch frustrating hydraulics
Congrats. And that is a very cool machine that I’ve never seen before and is clearly mega useful
Excellent skills with a practical use... as usual... great work you pair..👍👍
Such craftsmanship, wow!! Keep on going !! 👍🏻👊🏼👏🏻
Pretty fivking slick move using your lathe as a mill. Badass video. It wouldn’t matter if what you build was used to fold envelopes, the shear brilliance and on a whim ingenuity is truly something to behold. Love your content. Keep up the great work amigo! 👏👏👏💪💪💪🥊
Drives me crazy that there is only a 4" I beam on wood splitters and you have to hold the wood!!! Do me a favor and be the first to add a cradle so you can just drop the logs. Maybe get real fancy and have the weight of the log close the cradle arms around the log to hold it for you, once the halves are ejected the arms open as the weight is gone ;) Awesome job on the project!
Absolute perfection as always and awesome vid edit
Fantastic work, love the Moore Jig Bore!
