As a child I would listen to my parents Carmen Miranda records yet not know what she was singing but I loved the sound and the rhythm of the music. Now I am 60 years old and I have the records I grew up with from my parents. Here on You Tube I found that I can find even more of the beauty and talent that was Carmen Miranda to enjoy and I still don't know what she was singing in Portuguese but her music captivates me in any language she chose to use.
Even for us Brazilians it's hard to understand. It almost sounds like "I Am The Walrus" from the Beatles. But in the end you could translate it as the original song lyrics.

An absolute legend and brilliant performer. There is something slightly disturbing about how she was cast though, almost as if she’s some strange curiosity. It is not noticeable until you observe the facial expressions of the audience, and the lead actors. I don’t know if I’m reading into it too much, but there are tantalising clues as the scene progresses, facial expressions, body language…?
