Today I am showing you the most broken longsword bug, it's OP and should be nerfed. The pavise functions in a unique way. Today, we're featuring 'Fighter | One Life, Zero to Hero Challenge'! I'll be showcasing Dark and Darker gameplay and the world of gaming. Be sure to remain with us for additional material, such as montages, dungeon crawler, and extraction shooter. Ironmace made some crazy patch notes and I hope you don't find my ranger like too much.
This means that this whole time we could have had shields on our backs that actually block stuff but Ironmace was just too lazy.
It's about game balance, not laziness. Having a shield on your back block projectiles is stupid strong in this game.
considering you give up crossbow I don't think it would be meta, maybe though@@Timmcd
If there was a perk that didn't let you use range, I think it would be balanced. But a perk to make your shield function correctly is kind of weird.
Fighters aren't the only ones w/ shields. And you can still just put a crossbow in your inventory. It means that running away from anyone with throwables (frescas, knives) or spells like Warlock would become WAY easier - and ofc rangers.@@R3MJ0B
I’m the earlyer playtests the pavise would block attacks from the back not sure if it was also a bug or a removed feature
I remember us takling about how shields should work on your back a week ago, didnt realise devs were listening 👀
real shit though i cant believe how many techniques youve sqeeezed out of the longsword, hope this isnt fixed for your own sake xd

you had some sick fights and were utilizing that trick pretty well considering how new it is. they'll patch it soon but you've got some nice plays

I do a lot of PvE ripostes into PvP so this trick is just that on easy mode. I hope they patch it because me learning to block every mob in the game is kind of wasted knowledge now 😂
Oh right it was wierd when I was randomly getting buff from blocking, also it's been fixed
Riposte cheese needs to go for sure. But shield working on back or when you hold it in hand as opposed to blocking? It just makes sense that a physical object hitting a shield would not go through. Maybe a slow would be in order if you get hit by melee, but otherwise I think it should be a proper mechanic.
It's great for people who don't like playing range and ranger, but if I know Ironbow, they will just revert the shield back to it's immaterial state as the fix.
@@SookieSpy Well now that I think about it, it's much too easy to abuse because there is no cap on turn speed, so you could get the benefits of blocking without even holding a shield by just flicking your mouse. Let's not forget this is still early access so combat could be a lot different a few months from now. I fully trust the devs, though. Might not agree with all the changes but they seem on the right path and I respect that.

Yup, it's madness. Fortunately, it only works on pve but you can probably do some mental left click speed runs on the troll and stuff.
So one thing that I have never actually understood about this game is... why can you hit through a shield thats on someones back anyways? I mean unless its for balance purposes only, because it doesn't realy make any sense. What you're doing here makes more sense, but yeah it seems broken af lol I wish that I knew about this before they patched
Honesty, if they just remove fighter's ability to use range and make shields work that way, it would be a huge W. Would like to see more class identity and not just everything being USE RANGE AND WHEN LOW W + LEFT CLICK.
I think nerfing more wizard will fix it, since ironcemace hate them

What? Wizard is still OP. I play wizard a lot and outplaying almost any geared class with just base kit. We need a HUGE nerf.

I know they are going to patch this, but as someone who refuses to use range because it's boring to me, this would be amazing if it remained (not the riposte cheese tho).

Just block once and that shield will be active for the game.
Then hold right click with your longsword and get smacked from behind and you are good to riposte.
