    His voice is poetry. It's warm. Pavarotti is fire and brilliance. But my preference is for Domingo

      those of you who have no ears would prefer dombingo, his voice is inferior, and he even admitted it. pavarotti is one in a million, he has no equals, and never will. not to mention his disgusting behaviour, and perversion.

    I have that Covent Garden 'Fledermaus' on DVD. I love when Herman Prey calls him 'Placidisimmo', and his interaction with Josef Meinrad as Frosch is a treat!

    Many thanks for sharing this documentary. Very well done, great new photos and performance footage. Joan Sutherland was always on the hunt for tenors as tall or taller than her, and who wouldn't be overshadowed by her immense voice. The presentation strikes the right tone considering this very unique artist's career and contributions. There is a visible line of demarcation in the history of opera: Before Domingo, and After Domingo. With good reason. Corelli was once asked by a reporter, from the New Yorker I believe, if he and his wife had any children. He truthfully said no. But then he quickly added: "That's not true; I have a son, his name is Placido Domingo." Corelli was a high strung tenor, but he also had a great sense of humor about himself. Domingo is the greatest.
    Again, mil gracias. Paz y salud. Liked / subd / playlisted / shared

    In any field, it is a touching moment of meeting legendary figures.

  • @marcoantoniofalquete557

    A good documentary, but I can't understand how the turning point of his career, that was his creation of the main character of Ginastera's Don Rodrigo is mentioned as "an opera by an Argentinian composer", despising this huge success and great opera as if he was singing "some cucaracha thing, coming from South of Rio Grande"... LOL, a big contribution to the "Americans from the North" traditional ignorance about "Americans from the South".

    • @marcoantoniofalquete557
      @marcoantoniofalquete557 Před 3 lety

      Or, perhaps his turning point in the career was singing "Perhaps Love" with the great tenor John Denver ...

      @@marcoantoniofalquete557 John Denver was a "great" tenor? Do yourself a favor and get your ears tested!

      @uppityglivestockian Před rokem +1

      @@marcoantoniofalquete557 Interesting that the mentioning of the composer's nationality strikes you as a slam. Not my take. It's still true that his performance of Don Rodrigo at the NYCO is what got him the opera world buzz that really ramped up his career, and got him the attention of the Met in short order. The "great" tenor Denver? lol Yeah, which is why he is world renowned for primarily his voice and not his song writing-- oh wait.....

    • @gabriellemiant5619
      @gabriellemiant5619 Před 2 lety +4

      Non, le colosse ne s'est pas effondré! Il a trop donné etlla beauté fourni un travail de géant justement pour s'effondrer! Si vous faites allusion à la "cancel culture" puritaine , elle n'a pas réussi à éloigner de lui son public, même si les salles se sont fermées. Si vous faites allusion à sa voix plus grave, elle est toujours aussi bouleversante,( voir le Germont qu'il a incarné à Orange en 2016.) L'intelligence, l'émotion, la profondeur qu'il a insufflées à ses personnages continueront, quelles que soient ses performances actuelles, d'enchanter son public et de lui communiquer un bonheur essentiel dans ce monde matérialiste et qui laisse mourir la nature, la beauté.

    • @uppityglivestockian

      @@gabriellemiant5619 Exactement. Le grand Domingo reste une légende vivante avec des milliards de fans bien mérités. Les enfants démoniaques qui prétendent savoir ce qui est vrai sur la base de simples mots sans aucun mérite sont un fléau bien pire pour le monde que le covide. Paix et santé.
