    Love me some Laurel, Md.
I love the various eateries in this small town.
I lived in Ellicott City, Md., which is North of Laurel in the Howard County area.
I miss the area because there was so much to do.

Good fair representation of the area. Lived there in the Howard County part and worked at APL for 35 years.

I "feel" like homes cost more. I think you have given a great review. Taxes are so awful. I'd say don't move here if you can avoid.

Laural mall has been closed and destroyed for years now. But now it’s a shopping center.

I wouldn't say PG county schools are the worst, I am originally from Landover MD, ended up in Lanham MD, I moved with my family after I graduated high school to Laurel MD from Parkdale high.... my 12 nieces and nephews go to school in Laurel it's not the worst.. it could have more, but right now Laurel MD is focused on building making it more popular I've been here 17 years now I somewhat know. Lol no argument just a feed back all respect 💯🌸

Thanks for the comment! Agreed. I meant, when compared to Howard County within Laurel, in general people tend to prefer HOCO schools. Thanks for watching 👍

Not the worst thanks to Baltimore City Public Schools

What you say about P.G. schools is so true, they have gone to hell over the last 40 years. But the example you showed, Ridgecrest Junior High(middle school) is in Chillum, about 15 miles from Laurel, 1/4 mile from N.E. Washington. C'mon, you're in Columbia, you had to go thru Laurel to get to Chillum. Sad to say, but Laurel High, the oldest school in P.G., is actually one of the best in P.G.

It's all good. I have been viewing your vids because another poster had badly maligned MD. Of course, he is not a resident. I can tell by your accent that you're not native either. But that doesn't matter, almost everyone I know is 2nd generation at best, myself included. The only reason I caught that was because I live in N. Laurel, but grew up in Chillum. Just keeping you honest. I like your content.

Most of Columbia would put you really close and west Laurel. Russett community has lots of different housing as well

How much money u think we need for down payment on a home in laurel preferred single family

    • @livinginmaryland7837

Thanks for watching! Well this can vary a lot depending on situation. But if you are a first time buyer and can qualify for conventional financing, you could likely do 3% down. With an example purchase price of 600k, that would put you needing $18,000 for a down payment. Then closing costs come into play, and the financing would allow the seller to help you offset most of the closing costs. Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss in more detail. 410.428.5216

There’s not many studios it’s mainly condos in Laurel. You can expect anywhere in the range of $1300-$1600 a month for a 1 bedroom 1 bath
