Same Dye, different chalks - collab with

I enjoyed this collab so much, and I thank the lovely @AquariusDustASMR for this idea. I love collabs that teach us things. Her idea was to see how one dye affected different chalk brands. I’ve always wanted to know this because you can clearly see that whenever I dye chalk the dyed chalk is always much more crispy, crunchy and dusty than the fresh block. So It was interesting to see the cycle repeat itself here. L
@AquariusDustASMR chose the colour purple with some American chalk brands and I chose the colour bougainvillea with one BSN (the first crush - so buttery, so perfect), B chalk (the second crush, so yum also perfect), D chalk (the third crush - came toe to toe with BSN and B tbh) and the remaining are C chalks ( quite firm but also with a lovely crunch)!
I obviously had to top up with some F and C fresh blocks. Don’t miss the bonus 4 fresh blocks of F at the end because I couldn’t get enough!!!

Elated to see Bougainvillea Pink make a gorgeous appearance here. The colour is so deep and rich and brings to mind tropical climates, sandy beaches, sweet fruity cocktails, and azure oceans.
I am hard-pressed to declare my affections for one particular chalk brand in this scenario....There are so many variables at play. The flakes, the snaps, the breakdown crumble, the intensity of crunch...
It is, however, no surprise that the crunch quotient would be my yardstick. And by this measure, it would be the crispy crunch of D Chalk that pips the flakey, crackling crunchy C Chalk to the post.
The crush, in its entirely, is a scrumptious sensory symphony.

I like this post because it shows the different absorbency of the chalks as you can see that some talks more absorbent than others and sometimes it looks like the color comes out either darker or lighter depending on the chalk. Either way it’s a beautiful color and a beautiful crush.🩷🩷🩷
