    As far as FPS (frames per second) and sports photography the Z6II is just great. With image size and low light capabilities it has gotten the job done for me, especially with the "S" lens glass for the Z series.

      I think the Z6iii could be perfect for you then with approx sensor resolution of 33mp (that's still not confirmed). Improved AF and awesome video specs. I am slow releasing a video on it, I have some detailed inside info on their specs. Coming to market in about 4 to 5 months is the latest timescale on it. With an announcement coming in the next 8 weeks I am told. The Z8 is going to be a beast though at 60mp plus. A great time for Nikon could be on the way very soon.

      You are not doing anything wrong at all with the Z6ii, it's a great camera and works well for hybrid shooters. The Z6iii will be an even better option if you are not in a rush. It's jumping up resolution wise for stills to approx 33 to 36mp and the video specs are even better again.

    After watching your video, i decided I’ll skip the Z8, and just keep using my Z6ii/Z7ii and just use my xmas bonus money for another good lens for stills photo like the 135mm Plena, i shoot corporate events and church fund raising programs, i always shoot intermission numbers, solo singers, band, choir..not to much fast paced moving subjects except shooting stage plays and group modern pop dances, both the Z6ii/Zii are capable already, i don’t also do studio work, just the occasion senior photos..my photo’s won’t look awe inspiring by using a Z8😂

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Now that's a very good question and their are serious pros and conns here for both, if you shoot in lower light the Z6ii is the one for you but if you want to heavily crop then the Z7ii is your camera. On the video side of things the Z6ii has a slight edge over the Z7/Z7ii. All in all I would probably go for the Z6ii if I were you and maybe use the money you save to get a teleconvertor to have as a spare then if needed. On a slight side note I prefer the colours off the Z6ii also. Good luck and let me know which one you go for.

    Hello. I don't have enough money for a z8, I was thinking about a z6ii....z7. or a D850. At the moment I have a Nikon D750 with which I do some product photography and more recently I go to events. I was thinking about the days that some say it's good, others say it's not worth it. I would like to know what you would guide me to among the 3 cameras. Thank you very much and I wish you a good day.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před rokem

      Hi, that's a tough one as the D750 is a also a very good camera. The Z6ii would be better for events due to its low light capabilities but you may also come across cases where you need a good bit more resolution for product photography, if it's needed for billboard and large print advertising. The D850 is in all honesty an amazing all round camera and out of all of the ones you mentioned I would probably go for that due to it's great AF, high res and reasonable performance at higher ISO's. It is one of the greatest DSLR cameras ever made so you are doing nothing wrong there. If you had the budget then the Z8 and Z glass would obviously be the better option but that can be the next upgrade. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching.

      @kieranhayesphotography  Před 11 měsíci

      Hello, now that's a hard question to answer in ways.
      I will take it in two different ways.
      1.- If you are consistently taking reasonably OK photographs on the D3500 then either the Z6ii or Z7ii will do the same thing for you. With slightly better results.
      2. Either the Z6ii or Z7ii will give you a lot of room to grow into them. They are both great cameras.
      What I normally suggest is to start to learn all the basics of photography and then the features of your camera.
      From then on your photography will improve dramatically as you gain more experience.
      I hope that helps a bit and apologies for the delayed reply I am travelling at the moment.

      @JasonLorette Jason, simple answer to that is if you were happy with your Z6ii before it went for a swim, then I would stick with it. So if I were you I would wait for that one.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před 7 měsíci

      That's a very good question Rob but I would be inclined to go for the Z6ii as you more than likely don't need the extra resolution but you will gain higher ISO capabilities with less noise and I think nicer skin tones also. I found the Z7ii to be slightly verging more toward green in its toning. The money you save can be put towards some nice Z glass then which will make more of a difference.

    This is quite timely for me. Nikon Australia has a good deal on runout 7ii's at the. moment. About $700 off RRP. I shoot weddings, gigs and events and currently run two 6ii's with 4 of Nikon's lovely Z lenses. I'm really happy with this setup and have no idea why pro's keep bagging out how bad these cameras are, - saying they can't focus on anything - they must be really bad photographers. I can shoot an event and take around 2K photos and would be lucky to have around 15 or 20 photos that are out of focus (fast moving, dancing, running subjects). The images are beautiful and files nice to work with on C1. I have no interest in the Z8, because here in Australia it is 7K body only (ridiculous), is 200 grams heavier than my 6ii, bigger and has huge files that would bog down my computer.
    However, having said all of that, I was wondering if I should get the Z7ii for travel. I'm going to Japan in October for two weeks and India at Xmas for 5 weeks. I don't want to drag along two bodies (24mm and 50mm primes - one on each body), or, would love to take my Z24-70 2.8s, on one body, but it is huge. I'm wondering if I could bring only my 35mm 1.8s, then use the increased resolution on the 7ii to use it on DX crop, which would give me 35mm and around 50mm. However, after watching your clip here, there seems to be more advantages to the 6ii and I'd save myself 4K!!

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před rokem +2

      Hi Philip, that's a tough one alright, the Z6ii is a cracking camera and as you say it produces stunning image. On the focus issues I have to say I am one of those people that complains or dislikes the low light AF on the Z6ii and Z7ii but I only have an issue with it in very low light conditions and in fairness I used to always shoot in AFC on my D850 which had no issue at all with low light focus. The Z AF (apart from Z8 & Z9) was just really poor in comparison so that was always a bit of an issue for me personally. My focus miss rate with my D850 was well below half a percent, the Z's was a lot higher like maybe 1 to 2% and they were always the shots the clients wanted :-). Getting back to the Should you buy the Z7ii or not that really is a tough one, I would probably stick with the 24-70 F2.8 and enjoy the versatility of it. There is always going to be a compromise once it's not image quality I can live with the size and weight issue. Anyway enjoy the trip and curious to hear what way you are going to go with this one:-)

I find the AFC great on my 6ii, so I think the Zii should be the same. I'm interested if the image quality (RAW and post processing), is any better on the Z8. If so, the 7ii is much cheaper, smaller and lighter than the Z8.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před rokem

      @@philipsutton2316 Hi Philip, that's a very good question, in image quality there is practically no difference between them, the one thing I have noticed is the colouring straight out of the camera is nicer on the Z8. I always found there was a slight green tint on the Z7ii it's only slight but I was never 200% happy with the colours. I never noticed that issue with the Z6ii though. I am going to experiment with that a lot more now though, I am just back from another shoot with the Z8 and straight away I am loving the colouring from it. That could just be me being hyper critical though. I am going to look at that properly over the coming week or two when I am doing the Z8 review.

      Hi, Yes, you can shoot down to a simulated ISO 32 on the Z7 and Z7ii as the standard base ISO is ISO64, the ISO 32 setting is not a real ISO 32 though and it's done via internal processing in the camera. It creates more noise than ISO 64 but it does work so for specific circumstances it's a very handy alternative to have.

    Do the smaller pixels need the same amount of light as the bigger pixels? The total amount of light hitting the sensor is the same. Just saw a Tony and Chelsea video about it.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Před rokem +4

      Hi Marcel, yes that's true that the same amount of light hits the sensor but the point to remember here is the more pixels you have then the more tiny gaps you have between them and also the outside edge or wall of each pixel doesn't absorb light. So yes the same amount of light hits the sensor but not the same amount of light is absorbed and converted to create the image. What happens instead is the analogue amplifier being fed by the sensor needs more gain to create the image, hence more noise then too on the higher res sensor. Hope that helps explain it a bit better. That was explained to me years ago on a Panasonic technical seminar where they dissected a sensor and explained how it worked. Fascinating stuff.

    Thank you for the effort. But honest feedback - your audio needs work. It's hard to hear the end of each sentence. You start off loud and then go down to a whisper almost for each sentence.

      Thanks for that but I think that's just the way I talk... Always been that way and don't think it will change anytime soon. I just talk for too long between breaths I think. Also a lot of people saying they can't understand my accent. The good news is there are loads of other channels doing similiar videos. This isn't an earner for me (in fact I probably lose a considerable bit of money doing them as I could be working) I just do it for a bit of fun as I just enjoy photography so much :-). I have absolutely no interest in being a big CZcams account, being famous or even being remotely well known. Thanks for trying to watch it though and have a great week.

      Hi, thanks for watching and that was the vibe I was going for... Life is a bit too serious sometimes.
      It's definitely farty six megapixels though 😉
