I’ve watched 100+ utube vids on grip and recoil control and this one is the most concise one I’ve seen to date. Thanks Mickey!
Mickey’s videos on grip are the best for fixing grip issues/training new shooters, among many others. Very down to earth and intuitive.
💯

You watched 100+ vids on just grip control? Seriously lol.
@@gwaapgutta8553 lol you haven’t? I even created a play list on master grip, has 30-40 vids (pick from at least 100) which I think offer unique or different perspectives. Not only did this make me a better shot by fixing the issues I was having, it’s also how I introduced & talked my wife into carrying.
I have been a Firearms Instructor for over 25 years (NO CZcams lol) and you are the ONLY ONE -other than me - that teaches this material. I don’t go online hunting for other instructors, but I see very very few that cover this correctly. Outstanding job - you also have my subscription. Never too old and experienced to learn more and I definitely don’t know it all lol
Thanks my friend
Suggest you get out from under your rock then. Tons of people teaching this same stuff... it's not a secret it's basic principles of a good grip. If you only hang out with old fudds that are stuck in their ways from the 80s then maybe I can see how you might feel that way.
@jsk8drummer we all know what we know and we don't know, what we don't know. Until we find new information or it's presented to us in an appropriate way for us to consume and utilize, it may not be apparent.
@@jsk8drummer I don’t go searching for Instructors on CZcams. However - I have seen recoil addressed but not presented well and not thoroughly. As I stated - I cover this as well in my instruction (he actually does it better than I do) as as he said “we know what we know”. Seems that you are a troll that wants to look cool stating that - but you don’t. Furthermore you don’t know me or my background which further proves that you are posting nonsensical comments. I am definitely not stuck in the 80s but I assure you that the Guys I was trained by back then were still badass and would easily hold their own today. I think you need to self-reflect a little more.
Yes, well, the problem is he is not showing good technique, so why should other youtubers teach this? His draw arm elbow swings way too far out so his muzzle sweeps his foot on the draw. Also, apex carry is dangerous, especially for new shooters, and they may not have proper gear. My advice is to learn from pros like Jerry Miculek instead. You don't see good shooters teach like this dude, apex carry, or sweep body parts. There is a reason this clown is by himself in the woods. He would be run off from a well run IDPA shooting match. I wonder if he is smart enough to have a trauma kit and working cell phone?
As a 73 year old new shooter your instruction is clear, easy to understand and effective. Thank you, you have helped me immensely.
Joe, keep on training.
"Not like an ATF agent". 🤣🤣🤣
His ability to articulate instructions are phenomenal. Whoever has this guy as a mentor has to be learning a lot.
That's very kind. I'm grateful for the teacher and mentors and parents I have.
Probably the most in-depth explanation I've seen thus far.
An instructor worth listening to. Thank you for this video!
This is an excellent video on grip and posture. It’s awesome to hear “don’t get frustrated”, and “it’s a life-long journey”, to help encourage us to not give up trying to improve.
To me, it sounds like a skill to learn and to maintain, just keep trying, you will improve.
He nailed this one, really well spoken and meaningful.
Thanks my friend
Excellent instruction. Thank you for the concise explanation of the details.
So very helpful for a newbie. Trying to absorb all video tips I can. Thanks!
Tremendous instruction! Makes total sense. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video with great explanations and details. Thank you for your dedication to the craft.
As someone currently training for his Firearms Instructor license, I have to say: This is the ABSOLUTE BEST video on the subject I've ever watched, and I've watched hundreds!
Thanks
As always another great training video, it’s almost like a private one on one training session. I find during rapidfire my shoulders tighten up and my head will move down and forward which causes my groupings to spread out and my red dot does not return to the previous spot on the target. I believe shooting is not only mastering the mechanics, but also mastering the mental side and controlling your body to relax the muscles not being used during the shooting process. Thank you for sharing your time and your expertise and I look forward to the next video and the next training sessionwith you.
Who's pressing that trigger when your dots not alighned on targets?
Just started with sport shooting and found your video very informative and helpful, being at the beginning at my journey into shooting one of my biggest problem was grip and how to avoid the muzzle moving. I will take the points you made in this video to the shooting range and im sure my accuracy will improve if I can successfully follow your instructions. And I will strengthen my grip , wrists and forearms to gain that vice life grip
This is what I have been looking for as a new shooter!! Appreciate the time and effort you have put into this!
Great instructions I need this thank you so much 🤙🏽
Thanks for the info, I will definitely be trying this out. I will also be sharing this video with my friends and family.
Thank you for making this video! Best I've seen on YT! You gave me some homework to work on.
Great instructions for a beginner to be aware of. Keep up the good work and your video from different angles truly helps you see the effects
This is one of the best ones on recoil and grip out there. I have watched many of them. I think that ALOT of shooters of ALL levels should see this video, thanks for making this.
Thanks for your input! Your a good instructor!
You really are one of the best instructors I have had and your CZcams videos are outstanding. Thanks for doing what you do.
I appreciate that!
Top notch training video sir! Impressive skills! Congrats!
Great stuff instructor. Thank you Sir.
Thank you for all your tips, advise and encouragement. I was feeling a little defeated about my shooting but now you've gotten me excited to get back out there.
Do it
This is the BEST lesson on recoil management I have ever seen.
Thanks Ken
Helped me with this video. Been trying to dial in my grip and this helped for sure . Thanks for sharing!
Couldn’t have watched this vid at a better time. Going to the range today and was planing on working on my rapid fire recoil control. Now I have some specific things to pay attention to.
One of the best grip videos. Thank you!
Another great informative video! Greatly appreciated
Great video! Thanks! 🙏
Following you from Italy, and appreciate your teaching. Good job Man!
Thanks
Thank you sir!
Your Efforts are Noticed and Appreciated..

Fantastic video. Thank you!
Right on ,Thank You for the Time you spend with us! It's cool the Eagle came while Taping! The Music is F'n Rockin Brother!
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video. Thanks Mickey.
Excellent technical info! Like a monster!
Mick you're awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent! Thank you.
Great work! Thank you
Fantastic!! Just what I needed!! TY
I've watched several videos on this topic and yours is definitely the best
Wow, thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing
Good concise tutorial, thanks. It is great to hear the principles/objectives in the roles of fingers and contact points. Some instructors tell you what they think you should do, but not why. It is good to understand the potential effects of certain techniques. It allows some individual adaptation to achieve the desired result.
😀
Great presentation sir. Very well explained
Awesome video. Really worked for me
Never thought about the importance of the pistol grip. Thank you. Subscribed and liked!
Excellent tips thanks 🙏
Thanks, bro. Awesome video
Best explanation of gripping ive ever heard or seen👍
I rarely (never) have patience to watch thru to end of these type videos, however, I watched urs all thru & sent it to my grandson. Great training video
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent on the "overgrip/undergrip". It's something I never thought about on the nitty-gritty level, but have always tried to aware of myself, especially when practicing one handed. When the grip is just right, one knows because the rest of what is done with the pistol goes much more smoothly.
I grabbed that tidbit from DR MIDDLEBROOKS
Bro, this was a great video. I take the ice course on Tuesday and I now feel confident that I will dominate it. Thank you very much 💯💯💯
This is the best grip tutorial I’ve come across. How you place the firearm in the correct spot in your hand based on pointing is a game changer for me.
Thanks enjoyed this great job
Jeden z lepszych filmów w temacie pistol grip. Gratulacje i dziękuję, pozdrawiam z Polski.
Great demonstration.
Excellent. Nothing assumed, all points covered.
Great lessons sir.
I really appreciate that you do these videos for us knuckleheads. Also, being born and raised in Chicago, and drive a semi out to Davenport IA, several times I have seen American Eagles now, I actually saw 2 in one day, and it is totally badass 🇺🇲
You're no knucklehead
Thank you for this man!
Dominate that muzzle. Baby bird killin’ vice grip. 😂 Outstanding and very generous advice here, Mick. Thank you again. Your videos always pack a punch of valuable info. Stay strong, stay free!
I just have to say you are one heck of an instructor. I spent a lot of years in the military as an instructor (not firearms), and you are top-notch. Thanks for the info. I would love to take one of your classes for sure!
Thanks for the good vibes.
Excellent instruction, thanks for the vid
Glad it was helpful
You are a good teacher !!! Greettings from Argentina !
Good information. Thank you.
This will always be one of my favorite channels on CZcams!! Gunfighter Gun Oil is also one of my favorite ways to slick up my piece! 😉🤣
Awesome
great info! thanks
Thanks for the content
Excellent training
Excellent video!
thanks for the tips, have a good one....
Great video sir!
Excellent learned so much from this
Very helpful. Thanks.
Cheers also from Illinois brother ! Great video definitely learned a lot
You got some good recoil control 🎉
Thanks Mick
Very good video, going to try on the range. Also I've noticed, people who can hide full size gun in their hand have less problem with recoil management.
Thanks. I have focused on grip pressure but haven't focused on wrist lockout before. That may be my issue.
Thanks for the GREAT instructions! BALD EAGLE at the end reminded me of sitting out in the yard a couple of years ago, and one flew over me, heading S, much lower than normal. After it flew over, it changed direction and headed SE.
First time seeing one here in NE Texas. 'Been here for 30+ yrs. It was awesome!
Dude, they have made an incredible comeback. I see them more and more in more place. It's rad.
Thank you!
Thank you sir amazing video where can I take some classes with you thanks again
Thanks as always Mick
Very welcome
Thank you I learned a lot
Great info for a good foundation
Best trainer on CZcams fr fr ❤
Invaluable knowledge being shared here folks by a gentleman who definitely wants to help better us become better shooters.
Thank you
I used to be a really really good shot. Bullseyes at 10 yards no problem.. but I couldn't shoot fast. Just one shot at a time. Got my canik tti combat and was having some problems with the slide not fully resetting about twice every 10 shots. I thought maybe I got a defective gun or it needed to be broken in. But then I found these videos on not limp wristing while shooting and turns out that was totally what I was doing on every shot. It's amazing I didn't have more malfunctions while shooting. So I was all excited to go to the range to try locking my wrists and seeing how great my tti is. Good news is that no more malfunctions. Except once out of 250 rounds but I noticed I was limp wristing the gun again. So I'm sure it was my fault. Bad news is I can't hit the broad side of a barn now. I'm concentrating on trying to keep the gun flat that my shots are extremely low. I'm so frustrated and don't know what to do..
Great tutorial. A+
Obrigado pelo vídeo!
Excellent video
perfect ...thank you for the important imformation
Very well done, I really enjoyed this. (NRA and tactical Instructor).
5:24 I have found that for me, being right handed but left eye dominant, I have to over-grip my pistols to achieve sight alignment with my dominant eye.
With long arms, I've actually had to learn to run most left handed, as attempting to retrain my eyes proved more difficult than the rest of my body.
Amazing explanation thnx man
Glad it helped
Pinkie strength is underrated for recoil control. Nice video new drills for this weekend, yo yo ma,
