Dang, this is something I've wondered about for a _while._ It's a shame that there aren't sea equivalents for everything, though you can substitute some stuff.
Like, the Sea Sack can work as a floating Ice Box, to a degree.
It would make you use things that you probably never would otherwise. Like the Buoyant Chiminea, or the floating tar chests.
I do hope you ended up crafting some sea walls. They're apparently good for blocking waves out at sea!

You guys are a joy to watch, both you and Tig and also the new folks! You actually got me to touch Don't Starve for the first time in over a year... and don't worry, I'm not judging your survival skills, the first time I tried Shipwrecked I lasted two days xD figuring out survival in a new situation can be hard, and intentionally limiting yourselves obviously makes stuff harder, and you still lasted nearly two seasons.
Also, I'd love to see some of the four of you just doing normal Shipwrecked! Challenges are fun, and great to watch, but a regular series of playing the game in a mode you're less familiar with would also be a whole lot of fun, as long as you guys are also having a good time. Plus it's just nice seeing a base and a world grow over multiple videos, and probably making an episode of those might be faster than making a whole year of a challenge into one video? I know you guys already have a regular playthrough series, but maybe it might be an option.
tips: that brain thingy has a considerable sanity aura when not picked. building your shipyard right next to it allows you to repair your boat while regaining your sanity at the same time.
trawl nets can be used to spawn the kraken boss (deep sea), but it can also be used to get some nice stuff ocasionally or to relocate seaweed closer to base by moving over the patches.
also: consider getting some coffee plants and turf from the volcano. the speed boost from coffee is simply amazing. believe me, you will not want to go without it once you've gotten used to it. the farm needs to be on land though.

Dude, I'm so happy that i found your channel, your content is exactly what i want to watch about DST. I wish you to have more motivation and inspiration on this way. For me its not about challenges, it's about a creator and the way he plays, and your commentary, your vision on challenges, your decisions, emotions, all of this inspire me to start playing again, i hope to find someone to perform some challenge with me)

I’d personally love more regular Shipwrecked DST content - no need for arbitrary restrictions. Maybe you could try the archipelago world gen more as well? It spits the vanilla biomes into multiple islands (though idk if it’s comparable with the mangrove and crabby hermit biomes since it was made before those updates iirc).
A note on Joey ( a good one ) I main Wanda, so it was nice to see her get some screen time. Wanda in shipwrecked can be pretty difficult, but worth it for her weapon. Overall, I love your videos! I also want to know your thoughts on Wanda.
Heck yeah!! I'm sorry if I did her a bit of a disservice, I think I'll try her again if we do another run, though!! She's really fun, I just need to relearn some basic strategies after over-relying on beefalo a bit too much! ^^;
Wanda is such a cool character, I love how she just fundamentally changes the game. Her clocks all add such cool and unique advantages, there's good reason I'm striving to get better with her! She's also just got some incredibly good character to her, hehehe. All in all, good taste in mains >:3

I appreciate the compliment on my main choice :) I also want you to know that you can actually get the alarming clock VERY quickly in shipwrecked if you use the brain of thought. Also, since marble is impossible to obtain in shipwrecked (at least to my limited knowledge), the devs were kind enough to give Wanda alternative recipients using limestone for marble and doubloons for thulecite shards! Say hi to biddo for me! I’m a new sub, but this is literal GOD TIER content. I used to only watch Jazzy Starves, but tbh, I like you guys better!

I’ve made a couple of sea bases for Woodlegs. I usually build a small kitchen on land, with wood flooring and surrounded by sandbags to keep puddles out. That’s the only stuff you really need on land. I built one base around the brain corral with the seayard right next to it so I could sit on the boat being repaired at night. The brain gives off a small a,Lunt of light and, if you get right next to it, sanity-so good for Woodlegs. You just have to be careful not to accidentally pick the brain.
This mod looks great, love the incorporation of new dst content into the classic shipwrecked. The struggling gameplay is more engaging than a smooth day 3 rush. How about having a go on the single player shipwrecked world, there's something about the solo survival that has a genuine feel to it.
In all fairness to joe, they are playing a glass cannon but without the cannon part… most of the time anyways XD
you'd think that I'd shine well as glass, and yet :)

IA added a neat thing that lets you 'Retrieve' stuff just off the edge, but it only works if you click directly on it, not with Spacebar.
Oh, also, you can blow up whale carcasses to make them pop faster! Cannons work, too.

Great video to watch while in Walmart.
A couple challenge video ideas no one asked for :)
- The additional forge and gorge game modes, since both are timed you could play both in one vid perhaps
- "Taming" all the friendable mobs and blocking them in pens essentially creating a zoo
- Coming out the gate swinging with a winter only, or summer only world. Or maybe 50 days of both given that you can actually live.
- Spawn in and use a command to find out your favorite food, you can ONLY eat that food (maybe a couple day grace period). This could pair well with the summer/winter only.
- And of course continuing the story through the puzzles to see the love of your life again (Charlie) ((speedrun ???))

I will attest to the glory of Trawl Nets.
I used to use nets to catch ocean critters, but that took so long because I'd need to farm the silk for it first. Trawl Nets are so incredibly cheap, and only have 1 use less than a net, 9 instead of 10.
You can catch all the Bioluminescence so easily and sprinkle it around your base. I always do that the first chance I get, just litter it around the coast and my Sea Lab+Sea Yard. Free light, forever!
Sure the radius isn't big on a single one, but they sort of stack the more are around, so it's really decent light when you get a good number. Even just 3 or 4 work.
But, back to Trawl Nets, them being so cheap and getting all the ocean things you can net is reason enough to use them, but the extra loot you can get is great, too.
Catch some mussels first-thing to re-plant them closer to your base immediately, instead of waiting for them to grow. Catch Rainbow Jellies to place them in a fish scale machine for infinite land-based rainbow light (Another cool IA addition that's awesome), or roll the dice and get lucky with whatever you can suck up floating around the ocean!

(just wanted to say this again cause I love the nothing world and i love your challenges so both together would be perfection) maybe you can take a page out of orange's book and do a run on a shipwrecked world where everything is set to none, and all seasons to very short, the nothing world

I HAVE CHALENGE! Theres a mod called uncompromising mode that just makes the game harder, with a few other things... it ain't easy, plus there's a structure that just makes it even harder by making your body treat itself harsher

There IS the tropical experience mod, it has a hamlet only setting.

Tropical Experience is extremely flawed, buggy, and has many subjective and unnecessary changes to the world.
It can be fun to play around with for a bit, but I pity anyone trying to have a serious survival world with it.

the sealnado is basically shipwrecked's deerclops, spawns on the night of day 30, hostile towards you and has a sanity drain of -400

You should do a lights out challenge, no willow as she spawns with a infinite lighter, (is it even still infinite? Haven't played DS In ages...)
You should try to survive on the volcano island, might be tough!
I mean, you can probably use the round boats to make the crockpot and stuff on sea.
And keeping that thing alive in the middle of ungodly amount of waves would be a challenge by itself, so I think it would be cool to see the round boats being in use in the shipwrecked stuff.
I assume the sanity debuff for woodlegs will exist on the round boat since its technically not a boat, no?
The round boats dont exist in this Mod iirc based in prior vids !

Shipwrecked but you start with 20 gambling money and have to live of gambling.
I did have an idea like that! We'd probably use booty bags or some other form of generating slow, but sustainable income incase our luck is terrible :)
