Both The Band of Brothers and The Pacific are like brothers joining the military one joined the army and the other joined the marines. Thank you all for your service. RIP to those who didnt come home.
Thank you. Being in the Marine Corps 5 Oct 73 to 4 Oct 77, I'm parcel to "Pacific." Wish my Dad had been living to have watched, "Band of Brothers" being a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
RAMI MALEK DESERVED A NOMINATION SERIOUSLY! BOTH RAMI AND JOE! The last scene in the finale "Home" was absolutely BRILLIANT when Snafu (Rami Malek) had his farewell scene with Sledge (Joe) It was unbelievably brilliant.
I just finished watching The Pacific today. Amazing series. Sledge, Leckie, and Snafu are characters that will stick with me for a long, long time. It's a little bit silly that there were only 2 series nominated for this category. Anyway, glad The Pacific won. I am sick of all the British costume dramas.
I only waited for Rami to be screened at least for a while and soooo here he is! My definitely most favourite moment of this video is from 1:04 till 1:08. I can't help falling in love with him over and over again. He's so endearing, isn't he? :))
kinda a shame that they made this in 2009-2010 if they would have made it in 2001 like band of brothers half of the original soldiers would be still alive and able to talk about the war in the series.
Joppe de Bruyn You should be glad that atleast some of the Veterans was able to and those that did not finally got peace in mind and heart and didn't have to re experience their horrors
I wish Scott Gibson and Leon Ford were able to be there on stage. Cpt Haldane and Lt Hillbilly Jones, such brave marines in particular who were KIA and were incredible characters, portrayed so magnificently.
@psychicriver several of them were still alive, sid philips, bergie, a couple of others, and still they said nothing in the acceptance speech to honor them. they mstly thanked hbo for funding it. i thought it was missing some reverance.
the pacific is probebly my favorite war movie. but it cant because it isnt a movie its a miniseries.but the pacific and band of brothers are incredible
alot of talk of band of brothers in these comments. I would just like to say, the pacific war was nothing like the war in europe. The nazis were fighting on multiple fronts against multiple enemies. This war against the Japanese some historians refer to as world war 3. As the war in the pacific was a whole different animal so was the show, far superior.
My Dad was wounded in France in October of 1944 and spent about 18 months in a couple of VA hospitals. He had a chance to share stories with many Pacific Theater soldiers while recovering in the hospitals. Dad said that the two Axis enemies were very, very different from each other. He is incredibly thankful he fought in Europe vs the Pacific.
I am here from the future and guess what? Rami Malek is now the winner of both Best Actor Emmy and Best Actor Oscar. We could see it coming in his performance as SNAFU!

More than anyone else? I thought Joseph Mazzello was the stand out one out of all of them. To each their own though.
Agreed.
Yes I agree. My favorite character in "Pacific"...Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant.

Glad The Pacific won, but lol, must have been a bad year for miniseries for only 2 to get nominated

True! I wish they do a mini series on the Korean War.
First Band of Brothers, which I adore, and second The Pacific.....I have no idea how these guys do that, but they are genius mini series makers.....
Amazing show and brilliant performances! I’m glad that their story got told!!
Congratulations to every one of you. This was a wonderful miniseries.
the pacific didn't deserve this it deserved all of them for a miniseries

After watching The Pacific and Band of Brothers, everything else pales in comparison.
Oh so deserving! Amazing series, I loved every bit as much as I loved Band Of Brothers. :]
Aww look a baby Rami
yeah, the two series are amazing, but I prefer The Pacific than Band Of Brothers.

You can say that again. He was the absolute BEST character in the series.
