    Lets start from the top::
    - All of the clothing got a vast improvement obviously
-The stages were improved though there might be some changes done which might make you scratch your head as to why
-Jeffry visually got an upgrade regarding his face. Looks much better. He also seemed to have waxed his body now and is no longer hairy and apparently he hasn't been out in the Sun in a while because he's gotten a lot paler lol
-Sarah kind of got a downgrade. Her eyes are now....black? Why? She looks like an Asian woman with a hair dye job now.
-:Lion looks less 'anime' now. He has more of an angry expression and his hair isnt doing that goofy anime part in the middle
-Wolf got some Asian features thrown in there. They're subtle but they're there. Especially the portrait.
-Who bleached El Blaze's skin? What's with the Japanese and lightning people's skin colors? He also looks less Hispanic in the face now even with that mask hiding it.
-Shun's skin color also changed. He also got thicker eyebrows, more hair on the side of his head, and a V shape beard now
-Lei-Fei lost his good looks lol. Now he looks more evil and physically drained in the face like he hasn't eaten in a while. His head is also now completely shaven no 5 o'clock head stubble lol. He nose also was completely changed thus giving him an uglier appearance. I noticed that about Yakuza dev team before in the Yakuza games: often they'd make the Chinese characters look kind of ugly. Especially if they played unsavory types.
-:Lau def looks more like a proper old Asian man; though they whitened his eyes for some reason. His hair is also brighter white.
-T-Arashi got rid of his pinkish shiny skin. This one def looks like the best upgrade so far
-Akira def looks more Japanese now. Before he looked Eurasian with it def leaning more on the Caucasian side of it. Actually his original VF5 face kind of reminded me of the actor who played Reed Richards in those two live action Fantastic Four movies. Also he has a pudgier nose now and more muscle definition.
-Vanessa now has more racially correct facial features matching her ethnicity. Hairs still a bit weird but I guess that's gonna happen when its white hair. Wish they'd change her skin tone back to the way it was in VF4.
-Jackie's hair looks even more out of control now lol. Other than the color of it looks more lemon color which makes his eyebrows look like they're not there at times. His skin also has that same glistening shininess to it like Akira sometimes does in some stages. I think the Yakuza engine is doing odd things to the lighting and reflections in this game
-Pai definitely got a huge upgrade. The shading in the original game was doing weird things to her. Now it isn't and her face is improved.
-Not really much to say about Kage. He has a less angry expression in his eyes now? That's all I got.
--Eileen lost her chibi monkey eyes. That can be debated as good or bad depending on who you ask. Again, with the lighting in this games new Like a Dragon engine, it can had some odd effects on the characters. Like its harder to see their pupils now giving them sometimes am uncanny valley dead stare as seen here with Eileen's new look. But it also depends on the stage as well as the position of her face I think hence the lighting.
-Aoi definitely got an upgrade to her face has much more detail to it along with her hair.
-Goh has more depth to his face; more detail. Also in his hair. He looks better
--Jean has less of that generic anime bishounen face going on and now his face has more realistic design
--Brad more or less looks the same here. Just more detail in the face and they brightened up his hair a bit.
    =Dural is Dural lol

I prefer how vivid some of the original stages look, and the use of bloom lighting. Some of the Ultimate showdown stages look so flat, and I think it's because they all utilise the same light source. You notice it in Goh and Brad's stage in particular, where it looks like there's a light above them in the arena; where as in the original VF5 the only light sources are the fires and the floor respectively. They nerfed the SHIT out of El Blaze, Jacky and Akira's stages.

A lot of the stages lost a lot of their "character" in this update. Brad's stage also has LESS color at a glance and a lot of the other stages do as well. It's a real shame cause the lighting on the character models looks great now and the detail on them and the stages alike is also a nice improvement. The stages are clearly suffering as a result, though.

What they did here was more than enough to give VF5 some extra legs, but it's no-where near the level of what is needed for Virtua Fighter 6. Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, and every other fighter offers so much more than what VF5:US is giving us. Hopefully sega gets it together.

Imo most of the character models are improved. Going for a realistic look works for VF since it's always been on of the most grounded Fighting Games. Overall most of the models are a nice improvement. The only bad character model I'd say is Jacky, he looks almost unrecognizable, then again that could just be bad camera angles. Tbh, DOA5 perfected how Jacky should look in HD. Sarah on the other hand is honestly the most improved glow up. In the original VF5 and DOA5 they had her look almost, doll-like, where as here she looks alot more natural.

Vanessa's face in the new game looks less realistic than the other characters as if she's a doll. They put in no detail on her skin tone. Also does anybody else think she looks like Halle Berry?

Agreed, a story mode is long overdue for VF. It doesn't need to be much, a simple bit of text and some 2D artwork for the cutscenes would suffice. The cast of 1991's Street Fighter II has more personality than the VF roster, and the endings are a big reason why.
I would like to see Capoeira, Boxing, and MMA added to the list of fighting styles.

There are pros and cons to both honestly. Making games 'realistic' has really hit a wall. Modern graphics kinda are meh to me. i just dont care. They havent improved in the last 10 years really, I mean after PS4/Xbox One they reached such a level, that there really isnt much improvement with the new consoles, compared to the difference between former generations. Look at the difference between SNES and NES. Or between PS1 and PS2, between Saturn and Dreamcast, between SNES and N64, between Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, and GBA/DS,,, the improvements were always so big back then. Once we got to the PS3/Xbox360 era, it really hasn't improved a insane amount. Shit even some original Xbox games still look fucking amazing. And that's why I feel like consoles are obsolete. They only limit what you can do and what you can play. I cant possibly fathom someone wanting a PS5 or new Xbox, when a great PC can play literally any console anyways, Emulation has come so far that it's not even emulation anymore, you can literally load a game's files on your PC and play that game. Plus you get modding, editing, fangames, romhacks, 10000s of custom levels and gametypes, basically free DLC. Why pay for DLC when you can get user made content free with PC gaming?
