Orange and lemon peel is what is used to make candied fruit, for baking. OMG that little lobster at the end getting it's snack...a teeny tiny snack...so adorable.

I love the long form videos. My granddad and great granddad were commercial fisherman on the Mississippi when such a thing was possible, Grandma fell for him even when he picked her up in the fish delivery truck.
Its cool to see a crew get along, work together, and not loose their cool when things go wrong.

We fish around Frenchboro and the amount of eggers and shorts is crazy. Especially the amount of small females that are egged up I’ve never seen it before in my life.

I'm from Alaska. Trapping lobster is something we don't do, at least what I know. But crab we Def do. Pretty fun watching
I wish my dad was alive to see you guys. 😁. He was a lobsterman, grandfather was a lobsterman and great grandfather. They lobstered out of casco bay, back in the good old days. What i don’t miss is the way they smelled when they got home!!! Thank you for the helpful lobster life information and for your sense of humor. ❤

Jacob & crew you guys are fun to watch, and I'm thinking I am going to buy 1 small lobster tail to treat myself, cause it's been years that I've had a lobster! I forgot how I used to cook them? I think I wrapped them with lettace to keep them moist while steaming? OMG! I'll have to look it up because I haven't eaten a lobster in 20 years! The other thing that's happening when you throw back the biggest lobsters is you're selecting for big lobsters in subsequent generations. The average size of individuals within the population should increase over time from that, and making sure to release breeding females will increase the overall number of individuals. Cool stuff!
* D-R-Y the orange peels , much more palatable = better taste ,flavor ! Slice thin if you like while still fresh.
Banana , lemon peels as well . Watermelon ,seeds & all in a blender - juicer as a drink / mixed w/other fruits

No, they’re that soft when they shed, any pressure on their new shell for it hardens will tear it ✌️🇬🇧

Great teamwork on the orange challenge! The nasty taste is possibly the wax that gets sprayed on oranges to make them really orange in colour. An unwaxed/organic orange would probably taste better.

I love watching you guys… all my family is from Florida and are fishermen… I was the lucky one who was born in Mississippi… you remind me a lot of my uncle Steve… he was always doing fun stuff with his crew.. he had shrimp boats and he also caught crabs.. yes yea he caught crabs many many times in his life..
That shedding process is mre like a spider, or a scorpion. Where they kick off their entire exoskeleton. Snakes and lizards only shed.

Little lobsters like that have zero chance of making it back to the bottom. Put it back in your trap and it will go out the escapes. That’s what we always do up here in PEI😊
