- The Wild fam is back in the van and off across WA to get into the NT.
But first, we've got to tackle the Great Central Road (GCR). 1100kms of washouts, corrugations, dust, dingos and camels!
We were a little nervous to see how the van would go....

I really like how you let each other just talk. You work so well together. Some youtube couples make me uncomfortable when they constantly cut their partner off as if it was all about them. A pleasure to follow you and your family.
We think we make a good team đ thanks for your support!
Thanksđ„°đ
Love your channel, guys. No nonsense attitude, good commentary, photography, all-in-all a great watching experience.
I shared this with my mates in England đŽó §ó ąó „ó źó §ó ż
You can adjust the air vent under the ziggy so the lid doesn't fall all the way under. Love our ziggy it's the best đ
I always forget đ plus itâs so full of fat and grease Iâm a little scared to open it now haha.
The joys of having a boy, if itâs going to happen it will. Donât remember how many times our son hit his head and got stitches ( apparently chicks dig scars) heâs now 31 and his fiancĂ© is a nurse so heâs her worry now đ
Yup, same with us.. son had a VIP card in the children hospital.
Best score⊠Wednesday appendix operation and following Saturday on an 11 hrs flight to Darwin⊠4WD camping trip in a tent for weeks.. all survived.. now age 24 and after a few years playing rugby Aussie rules settled for less abrasive sports đ
Cheers
Great tip guys, and I love the way you named a BBQ after me.
The red country is the very best of travelling we find. Looks so nice out there.
Beautiful!
Great idea about disconnecting the SOG, we havenât in the pass and hubby just said that he has had to clean the hose. So next trip we will follow your lead. Love seeing you all out and about. đ
So happy to see you travelling again đ. I loved this episode, just so easy to watch. Iâm with Tiff, nothing better than remote outback red dirt Aus.
Loved the pic of you all around the fire pit.
I once suffered a slight fracture on be of my metacarpals that was only detected by an MRI scan. So if Brodies pain persists, you may need to inquire about getting a scan done.
Hope the little fella gets better.
Good to have one of my favourite families back on the road again ,
Cheers!
Awesome Ep guys travelling with your Fam there nothing like it, Love to do that road one day.
What lovely scenery this country has of ours. My mum did this trips years ago in their van. Must put it on our list too.
Maybe a bit of blue Loctite for the cupboard door latches.
That was awesome guys. Thank you so much for sharing. Poor Chloe - she handled Camâs âwhose the bestâ question really well - hahaha. Keep the vids going.
The Best HomeMaker đđ
Sheâs very diplomatic đ
Great start to your trip. Seeing dingoes đ in the wild is amazing isnât it? One of the highlights of my recent tripâŠand the camels!đȘ look forward to the next instalment x
Awesome! We loved it đ
Hi Cam
Done the trip 5 weeks ago.
70 kms West of Warburton on the left great camp.
70kms East of Warburton is a great camp.
If you can stay at Kjngs Creek Station I reckon you and the kids will enjoy.
Best burgers in Australia.
It's 35kms West of Kimgs Canyon so you can drop the van off for a day trip.
Finke River Gorge is awesome but the caravan may hold you back.
Bogey Hole is are
Giles Breakaway on your right.
Fantastic scenery
Excellent video!
What beautiful landscapes of the Great Central Road!
And once again, congratulations on your wonderful family!
Greetings from Paraguay!
Chloe's a star, didnt want to upset mummy.
Great vision, just gives me an appetite for this. Our van now on order.
Another great video, Wild Touring has become my favorite channel now, real life and full of great tips for others wanting to chase the same dream. Keep exploring and be safe.
Thanks for the support mate đ
Good on you have a great family trip and be careful.
Great family adventure Cam and Tiff
Gold. Great episode
Tiff, Cam, Chloe and Brodie thanks for the video đđ
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing a real life touring adventure (not holiday) with a young family. Great to see Chloe really enjoying the trip.
Thanks for watching! đ
Great episode. I want to do that road in '24. It's amazing how many people are towing across that road and you lucked out with the condition following its recent grade.
You're doing well with Brody. You have patience and love for sure, but it can be demanding travelling with a little one.
I'll look forward to future episodes.
Thanks for sharing guys, great to see Chloe enjoying it and I bet Brodie will eventually as well. We love our SOG and also have exhaust on awning side and never ay smells.
Great episode. I really enjoyed that one. It's great that your van went well.
Cheers!
Great video, lots of valuable advice and info, nice footage too - so beautiful out there! Love seeing the whole family out there, just doing it!đđđđ Undoubtedly challenging at times, but so worth it. If not yet done so an MRI on Brodieâs sore arm/wrist/hand to exclude any hairline fractures around joints (especially carpals and metacarpals) would be good. Heâs a little champ, as is Chloe - such a delight! I was a bit nervous watching her toy so close to the cage bars at Gwalia, hoping it didnât fall. Thank you for all of your tips and suggestions for safe and happy travels across the centre. I hope to do similar one day towing a Wedgetail camper. For now, will watch, note and hopefully learn a few things. Again thank you Cam, Tiff, Chloe and Brodie - will be checking the rest of your videos too. Oh, have subscribed to you but also MozFog. Theyâre currently out of stock, but will be purchasing their products once stock is again available. đđ
đoops⊠apologies, just saw when video was made đ am sure youâve dealt with Brodieâs sore arm by nowâŠ.!!!đđ€
Great video and brings back memories as we did it last February coming the other way. It wasn't too hot and the nights weren't too cold. Road was also good most of the way so they must grade it quite often.
Awesome video, would definitely live to do that track one day. The outback stars are next level. We camped in a tent at the meteor crater near Uluru n they where almost as bright as street lights, then at about 1am the full moon came up and it was like a spotlight đđ.
We found the 1st child was quiet, amenable and very accommodating. The 2nd child has all the issues, didn't sleep, eat or want to do anything you wanted her to do. Thankfully she had grown out of that
I liked that Tiff picking you up on being the Great Central Road Camp expert, Then at next camp you identified that you thought âThat was great Camel Grazing areaâ beside the caravan!!!đ Noting there was no Camels in the morning!! Great episode guys. Love the Willow reviewsđ
What a GREAT vid. guys. Brought back so many memories. We did the Great Central Road with the Kelmscott BMX Club in 1988 heading to Alice Springs for the Australian National Titles. Been looking fwd to this series. Thanks again - Peter V.
Love the country . Just magical.
1100 kms, 241 burnt out cars... that's a car every 4.5 kms!!!
We done this road ten years ago and stopped counting at about 150 cars. Great to see your out there doing it, travel safe guys, see you out there one day!!đđ
We almost stopped counting a few times too đ€Ł
Great episode guys! Lots of helpful info. Thanks for sharing your journey đ
Thanks for watching âșïž
Great video glad to see your back on the road touring
Thank you for a great video, loved the scenery and itâs great to see Tiff and the kids on the road with you, đđđđ
Thanks Lorraine đ
Absolutely loving the real time family traveling episode's again guys. Great content.đ
Cheers!
Fascinating! As soon as I saw the name 'Gwalia', as a Welsh speaking Welshman, the first thing I did was Google Gwalia, Australia and my suspicions were correct. It is a Welsh name. Specifically, the archaic alternative name for Wales, which is more poetic than actually a true historic word than the actual Welsh name of 'Cymru'.
Definitely Welsh, the name of the mine was Sons of Gwalia, it
worked for quite a while and shut down in the mid 50s, and
reopenned again as an open cut when gold prices went through
the roof, but has since closed again.
Great to see, we are on GCR as well and after rains a very different story! đ
I bet! Travel safe!
I'm in 2 minds with sealing our outback gravel roads.
Yes, it would be hugely beneficial to the locals with access in and out, but with that comes every Tom, Dick, Harry and Karen who doesn't care about shit.
Difficult to say if it's a good or bad thing to seal all the gravel roads.
Another nice video, keep it it đ
People who don't give a shit still get around, just about everyone has a 4WD these days. I would agree with you except gravel doesn't keep them out any more.
Great video guys! The regular ocurrance of the "dumped cars" is quite a highlight as we discovered on our trip back in 2015. However, it appears that you missed the car dumping areas. Apparently the authorities travel the road and collect at least some of the cars and deposit them in car dumps. We had an interesting time visiting one of them. The "native" camels are also interesting but although there was mention of the wildlife in guide books we saw very little on our trip. Enjoy Uluru it is a special place as is Kata Tjuta!
Great vid. Did this 2 years back. Also look out for heaps of busted AU falcons. Handy when my spotty relay burnt out and borrowed a new one from a wrecked falcon on the side of the dirt road.
Love your adventures, no over dramatizing just true to live as it is. Keep well.!
Thank you âșïž
Awesome guyz, weather home is rubbish so we heading off to Denham and 14 Mile tomoz đđ»
I did the Great Central early March 2025. Pre did my permits but was so far ahead of time rearranged them at Laverton W.A. Permits issued instantly no waiting. Did the trip over 3 days, 2 night. Last night free camped at Docker River. Hope you had a look at the camp ground there. Road was fair to middling on the W.A. side, disgusting on the NT side. Like you, really enjoyed it. Well done.
Another informative video Tiff n Cam, great family experience for youse đ
Cheers!
Great enjoyable episode, Chloe is and will stay a star in your Chanel l am sure, gives us that Family touch, keep up the great filming, job well down
Thanks so much, she sure is! đ€©
Stunning drive !! Awesome seeing all the wildlife .. loving the vans new decals love what you have done đ
Looks good hey! đ
Good vid! Good to see none of the other members of the family embracing the adventure wear. I think you should all wear matching outfits wherever you go
Chloe is far too much of a fashionista, she wouldnât be seen dead in daddys merch! đ
@@WildTouring I think maybe Tiff Wild, Wild Touring may be the one who refuses to wear Family Wild, Wild Touring adventure wear. Iâm pretty sure a I saw Cam say he has every size, even one for Tiff Wild, Wild Touring
Great video guys. I have a Isuzu Dmax ready to go đđcheers đ»
Chloe "I couldn't wait my horses" lol đ đ so cute
I know đ„° had to leave that one in there!
Good vid looking forward this series love your last vid on shark bay thanks
Unscrew the ziggy drip tray halfway before cooking and it acts as a stopper for the lid
Thanks for another great video, we've hanging out for it.. The little guy is doing great, especially teething, it's a difficult time and Chloe is a real gem, a great little girl. Last time we drove to Perth was with a 3 year old, she's now 42 and still running the show, a great traveller then and even better now. Did you put the draw/cupboard press buttons back on the Loctite. Thanks for the great tip about the SOG.
Great video Cam, Tamara and I did this in 2021, didn't see any camels or dingoes which was disappointing and nowhere as many cars at roadside....I must have had my eyes shut. Keep up the good work and enjoy that adventure! đ
Thanks mate!
Great episode and love Chloeâs diplomacy đ. The cooking pan you mentioned- Square Space?? Can it be used on gas, induction and or fire?? Would make a great gift for daughter travelling next year.
Great documentary
Hi Cam, Iâm not sure about your door setup, but my door has a vent for gas reasons. I put a yoga mat between the screen door and the door so that the caravan can work more efficiently in my van as itâs not trying to prevent dust from coming through a large vented area in the open when I stop I take it out.
Awesome you guys.
Great Vid!!! Great to see Tiff back I bet your view will be up.đđđđ
Haha youâre probably right! đ
Great episode, very informative. Going to give it a crack soon
Youâre welcome! Enjoy đ
Just noticed the AWE on the roof đđđ
Looked like a great trip guys. Those door latches in the van are the worst. We have them in our van and two are busted from coming loose and that is on sealed roadsđ
They are a poor design hey, weâve had quite a few break this trip!
SOG for the win!
I couldn't believe the stars of Warburton were waiting for me!
Wow that drone footage was next level!
Cheers!
T shirt idea ,,,
Honey , stabiliser legs are down!
đđđâ€
Haha donât think tiff would let me run with that one!
So much admiration - putting two kids in the car to go to the shops is hard enough for us!
I hear you! đ
we did the great central rd 15 years ago and the strangest thing we seen was at Tjukayirla roadhouse they had skin on kangaroo tails in with the ice creams!!
great episode guys stay safe
Haha sounds about right! đ€Ł
I feel you guys with your sonđ, our children are pretty young and boy oh boy do they string together some sicknesses and/or injuries
One thing after another hey đ«Ł
Really impressed with your editing guys. It must take some time to do. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Thanks mate đ
Who's the best đđđ Nothing like putting Chloe under pressure. Good too see it was a smooth rideđ You were about 100 cars short. Mind you there was 10 people counting where we crossed. Looking forward to the next episode...
Cheers Mark...
If only cars would talk +ĂĂ·=/_âŹÂŁÂ„â©**- no interpretation, nearly been there, all the best for your journey thanks for the ride.....
You have perfectly captured camping / touring with a second born toddler teething boy!
We did it for a bit then I got the snip đ
Haha weâve had similar conversations đ
Obviously, I don't now condone what we used to do when we lived in Parraburdoo in the late 1970s and travelled to Perth twice a year for leave. But when the kids were little, we were given Phenergan by the doctor to dose them up when needed on the 18hr each way trips. Worked a treat, especially if they were teething.
We use the same baskets from kmart in our fridge.
Awesome episode guys đ€đș
Cheers!
I had to buy a tyre for the Prado at Warburton they charged me $750.00 total rip off plus fuel there is the highest around so avoid having to get any supplies at the road house.
Had a few trips out on the Central Rd doing deliveries to a mine site. Gruyere Mine about 60kms east of Cosmo Newbery and turn south for about 25ks The Road can be very bad at times.
Love all the drone footage in this one mate! We can totally see the feelings on this episode with Brodie haha, Noah is the same and rarely sleeps well the first day or so and we were also mislead with charlotte when she was amazing in a tent haha
Funny, 4 weeks later and Cam and I were just saying to each other tonight that we think heâs going to miss van life at the end of this trip now đ heâs finally found his groove now haha
@@WildTouring haha just turn right then and head to QLD đ
do the birdsville track to test your stone stopper. that track is brutal for rocks.
The flies just spoil what could be a nice drive to dingo piss creek đ
Driven that road three times now most scenic west to east
Hi guys. Our son had similar signs with his arm as Body's. He ended up with fractured elbow. May pay to get it xrayed higher up if not already done.took three reviews of his xrsys to get the diagnosisđą.
Thanks! Weâre taking him back for another check tomorrow actually as itâs still causing him grief đ
I wonder if Brody might have a pulled elbow. My daughter had one, her symptoms were similar. Hope the little guy is ok now.
All of the docs heâs seen suspected that initially but the pain seems to be in the hand/wrist so they ruled it out đ€·ââïž
Great vid guys , just wondering with the diesel heater going all night how much diesel does it use over night and i guessing your just running it on low
Hey mate, how come you have removed the brand stickers off the van?
Great vid, you got a dream run with a graded road by the looks đđȘđ»
Itâs kind of a bogun version of the Griswalds on vacation
It's abit late. But it looks like a pulled elbow. Hope it's fixed đ»
Thank you đ turned out to be tendon damage in the wrist!
Great video guy's,just wandering where is Percy
Heâs at home living the lap of luxury with a friend đ
Hey guys, we have our stone stomper on orderâŠ. We were planning on removing the stone guard but see you still have yours in place âŠ???
Yeah we chose to leave it on and use it as a fixing point for the stone stomper, rather than having to install a centre support beam. Plus we think it looks better with the stone guard on still đ
We didnât see any camels on our trip across đą. We paid about 2.50 for fuel was the most expensive at the time on our trip. 2021
Hey guys, just watching your video, did the Dr's mention "Saturday night Palsy" ? I had a boozy stack on a a stone staircase on a night out, lost power to the wrist and fingers for a couple of weeks, looks pretty similar to Brodies symptoms, no obvious bruising and nothing shows on xrays. Just some temporary damage to a radial nerve. I had a limp wrist for a couple of weeks but came good
Thanks for the thoughts, appreciate it! The docs have narrowed it down now to a problem with the tendons in his wrist - glad we have some sort of answer now at least!
No link in description for great central road Permits that i couldn't see ? it did you forget ??
Hi Guys lovely to see you out on your adventures! Re the Smartspace fry pan - keen to know where you got please as the web site for them is not secure and seems to be empty - but keen to know more especially seeing as induction and gas ready thanks. Also I didnt catch the name of whatever it was when you were talking about "smells" can you reply with name and what is this product please?
The frypan we got online, might have been eBay or one of the other caravan/rv online sellers.
The SOG system for the chemical toilet? Itâs excellent đ
Hi guys what brand is your caravan, how close are you to your GCM ,any mods to the D m ax engine thanks John
How do you handle all the corrugated roads
