I always wanted one of those. I had an electric one with some mods and it was pretty decent.
hey my dude! Thanks for checking this video out! The electric model was pretty popular and a very good value at the time I remember it.. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up soon..
Bro this brings me back to the good ol days. Thank you so much for posting this!!!
That's one good looking slash. But you just can't beat the nitros!
The XTM nitro X-cellerator! i love this car. Shout out to the official xtm nitro X-cellerator thread at rc universe.
Man, those tires. Brave to be running those.
That little thing rips
hey dude! thanks for checking out this video! I'm glad you enjoyed this vintage nitro restoration project, it proves that you can't kill a Vintage Nitro! And bro, this was all with only 1 Head screw, NUTS!! NitroGang!>
Man im impressed at how well that thing scoots! Motor seems solid despite the missing cooling head screw
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out! Yes, I was surprised myself as to how nice this vintage nitro drives. It's literally QUICK and handles way better than a nitro rustler. I found an old RC Car Action Mag and it's actually claimed to hit 50 MPH, not 46 as I previously thought.. We gonna test that soon..
@@hybrid32494 ive never been around any xtm but they seemed well like back when. The X Factor was a pretty rad looking truck too
Sickening little vintage nitro car ⛽️👍
I got my hands on the kit version of one of these from my uncle. Still in its box original box.... used but in the original box. Body is still clear. We broke it in about 16 years ago and then just kinda stopped using them. It looks brand new still. Has the blue and black chassis even instead of the solid black.
Man that nitro is fast love it
hey Allen! how you doing dude! Yes, this vintage nitro surprised me with how quick and noble it is. I gotta say, this chassis blows away the nitro rustler..
The XTM has great speed even for today. And it IS a gas hog....which just makes it better.
Ours I bought for my son YEARS ago for his birthday, and it has been on the shelf next to my AE RC10GT. I had so much fun with his that I bought the AE a few days later for myself. Who would have known that I happened to buy two trucks that turned out to be among the highest regarded nitro vehicles of the period. They both have been sitting on my hobby shelf for several years with broken starter strings.
I decided to get them both going again, starting the the AE, and then the XTM which I JUST drove a few minutes ago. The AE had a jammed throttle and I worked it until I loosened it up....using some techniques that likely would be frowned upon. Oddly, I had to make a bunch of adjustments to get it running right. The XTM required no adjustments other than brake and idle.
I converted them both over to the Sullivan Tiger Drive gearboxes for starting the trucks with a drill. My old 12V Black and Decker just would not spin fast enough, so I bought a new 18V Ryobi. Makes a world of difference. I always hated those pull starters.
Mine is ultra fast too....before you know it, it is almost out of sight if you are on a big parking lot like I go to. It is faster than the AE, which is no slouch either. I actually have some electric RC cars, but nitro is something special as it requires more skill to make it all happen, so a really good run is even more exciting.
I cannot believe the engine runs so good with only 1 screw holding the head on
I know right!! You literally cannot kill this nitro. We are gonna speed test it soon, I think 46 is possible, that's the claimed top speed..
Runs great it's crazy fast bro
thanks bro! yes, this thing is surprisingly fast, it was rated to hit 46 MPH when it was brand new. I have no doubt it could still do that.
Very cool I used to race an HPI rs4 MT back in those days and the sound and form factor of this xcellerator brought back lots of memories! I even took that truck to the hpi world finals in Las Vegas in like 2004 I believe.
whats up my fellow Nitro Brother! thank you for checking out this video. I would have loved to be at the LV world finals, would have been a NITRO Heaven race, lol. Gotta love the the RS4 MT chassis, I own about 2 of them at this point still. You gotta check out my other videos on them.
@@hybrid32494 hey! Heck yeah I just googled it and it was actually 2003, I remember being like 15 years old, and there were elite level racers from Germany, Japan, and other places... It was crazy tough competition in the 1:10 onroad classes, I was running a Lola body R40 at that time and placed very low. The MT class had only a few people in it though and I beat a couple, coming in 3rd overall which was awesome and such a cool experience with my dad... Especially now that everyone's older and we don't get to do stuff like that anymore.
Hey I also wanted to tell you I bought an almost brand new Serpent SRX8 buggy a couple days ago on ebay, from another CZcams reviewer. I saw your vid on that buggy and a Livestream you did about it too, and I'm super excited! Mine has the Serpent branded engine, I'll probably eventually change to a proper non pullstart race engine but not something so finicky that I need a warming blanket and stuff. Any recommendations there bro? I was looking at Alpha 4 engine and pipe set...
DANG! That was runnin SWEEET!
God dang I love nitro stadium trucks
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out, means alot to me. This is more proof that you cannot kill a vintage nitro and that it's literally quick as SHYT!! lol...
👍 very fast nitro 1 speed baby
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out, means alot to me. This is more proof that you cannot kill a vintage nitro and that it's literally quick as SHYT!! lol...
it's crazy how many brands come and go and to be honest i forgot XTM even existed in till i came a crossed this video thanks again! If you ever get a chance you should try to do a review on the nitro GS Racing 1/10 Shadow ST1R 4WD they have them on ebay new which is crazy since they are vintage, and the only downside is shipping takes about 2 weeks since its coming from taiwan.
Reminds me of my hpi firestorm 3.0 bro
yes bro, the stadium truck design is quite similar. I know exactly what you mean.
Very cool. That blue head is nice. Fast bro!
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out, means alot to me. This is more proof that you cannot kill a vintage nitro and that it's literally quick as SHYT!! lol...
Love the 'Tallica inclusion!
oh hell ye bro!! I'm glad you noticed that! While some others not going to use the most Sickening music ever made, here on this channel we run RICH & LOUD and listen to Metalilca and Nirvana.
This is a ride T-Maxx Tony would ride
LOL hey bro! I thing you're right! T-maxx Tony would appreciate the Sickening Nature of this Vintage Nitro.
I always wanted the XTM but I never got one they're pretty cool trucks.

That thing is awesome!

Nice rc bro 👍
thanks man! This was a quite interesting restoration, didn't know if the cooling head was gonna hold up during the runs. But you can't kill a nitro, lol..
Haha! Sure can’t.
That slash must be the brushed version haha
hahah, hey dude! Yes, that was some of the slowest slash driving ever, I know! This was actually the first time Melissa drove an RC in this video, and it was my slash. That model has a castle 5800 sidewinder system, it's very fast. But for this video I told her to not try to kill it, haha.
Wow now that is fast sir
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out, means alot to me. This is more proof that you cannot kill a vintage nitro and that it's literally quick as SHYT!! lol...
Love watching your videos but I need help on what size exhaust would fit my old rs4 3 nitro hope you can help me out matey
Small block 1/10 scale trucks FTW!! The economics of RC is in the sweet spot right here in regards to the smiles per millilitre of nitro. #CorporateNitro fun factor approval level 5
Badass
I had same gliching with mine, ended up being bad factory crystals
Hey bro! The weird part with the radio glitching was it only glitched when the motor was running, that I never encountered before. No big deal though, it's much easier for me to just run one radio with 20 model memory like the flysky, which also has very easy to use fail-safe settings. Something else to consider is when I'm running the camera on-board there is extreme signal loss with anything other than a good 2.4 GHz system.
@@hybrid32494 I realized it was the crystal when I bought a new radio for it, i noticed a small crack that car only messed up when car was running, im figured it was the vibration that caused the problem
I have the electric version. Barely used with a trinity Komodo pro 19t motor. Have no idea how much it’s worth today.
Do you know what gas tank that is compatible for XTM
Hello do you know if the XTM xcelerator engine has a cone? Im guessing one of the small block SH engines ? I need a back plate for mine
you know where I can find front a arms for them
Run the slash on 3s, MORE POWER!
hey bro! That slash is a hella fast one bro, just for this video I had NItroGang Queen Mellisa running it and learning how to drive. That Slash has a 5700KV Castle Sidewinder 3 system, that means even a 2S would be quick in this one.. More on it soon bro!!.
@@hybrid32494 I'm considering doing that to mine and putting the 3500kv in my plane lol
@@rctrucks2094 yes dude, the caste systems r very solid, but the ESC will need a fan. The castle motors r incredible. The one is this video was flipped into the ocean many times, and you still cannot kill it.
@@hybrid32494 Do you also have the center diff upgrade cause the stock slipper clutch tends to slip a bit too much even when fully tightened and I even lost the slip pads on mine so I'm doing the diff
I miss that sound. I'll try to make it in my head when I test run this new talion 6s in about 5 mins.
the NitroGang will never die, even if you run the Talion, lol! Imagine a sickening nitro arrma from the factory though. Not the homemade conversions, but a literally nice factory built one.. We can only dream!!
@@hybrid32494 that would be nice. They'd make one durable and affordable and I wouldn't have given up when it cost $200 for a new 3.3 for my Revo. I loved that thing
@@hybrid32494 the talion is like a offroad Ferrari on 6s though. I just like rc period
@@jeffbarton4398 I hear you dude! I've raced against the talion multiple times, it's a serious RC for sure. Have fun dude!!
What brand of glow plugs you buy I bought 12 pack unnamed here they won't even go in my 3.3 I get half turn out of them think I got ripped off threads are mess up on everone
Hey buddy! I highly recommend you pick up these OS plugs, they are 100% perfect for the 3.3 engine and a direct fit. They cost more, but you will likely never kill one of these, here is a link for you - alnk.to/gzVlDUp
@@hybrid32494 will do
That's quick was the Schumacher storm not the fastest single speed nitro stadium truck or was that out before great video
I have one but the engine is shot what engine can I use.
Thank you for making nitro great again!! I'm planning to race my Kyosho USA-1 Nitro (using a new OS .30VG) against a brand new Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3. Who do you think will win?
It's tough to keep control of those even with just factory power. Even my old Mad Force with the original GS21 was wicked.
that car just needs a new set of rubber and you can start bashing her already.damnn
Did you have any issues running 30% nitro? I've heard to run another head shim if you go to 30% nitro. Is it necessary?
Hey man, thanks for checking out this video. To answer your question you can safely run 30% Nitro but be sure to check your tune to compensate and make sure you are not running too hot and lean. I’ve run a range of fuel from 20 all the way to 30% and they basically perform similar. You’re only variable will be the tune you are running.
@@hybrid32494 Got it! I'm breaking in a brand new XTM .18 for my Xcellerator. Just figured I'd ask, I noticed you're running 30. I have heard some say it's necessary and others say it's not. It's idling fine and running tanks so I think good.
@@peteschannel508 there is some truth to stay away from 30% Nitro, but it mostly applies to older low performance engines with ABN plating. This xtm uses a pretty powerful plated chrome sleeve, and it can easily handle the 30% Nitro.
@@hybrid32494 good info thanks again. Keep ripping the nitros! I own quite a few myself.
Nice Insane Speed F Da Electrics, 2 speed Baby 😂
Hey I noticed you have RJ Speed pro stock kit on your shelf , question what clutch, flywheel and clutch bell did you use for the kit ?
Did you install a .12 or .21 Nito engine in the RJ Speed nitro kit ?
I got one new in the box from a garage sell $50.00 bucks
whats up my dude! Welcome to the channel, I see you're a recently new sub on here! awesome! Anyways, I have not built the RJ Speed nitro kit yet, and I have not even opened the box. Its meant to run a small block motor, I have an HPI G3.0 planned go into it (hopefully the clutch setup will fit).
I was wondering why you were tormenting that slash it's because it's was yours and Melissa was driving it
So I noticed you have two live videos I haven't watched yet and they're not on your channel did I get them because I'm a channel member
hey dude! There will be another video where I'm specifically teaching Melissa to drive that slash (and yes, it's my own Slash). If you look up old slash videos on my channel, you will see some inside sand-snow-and ocean water flipping runs, haha. I just made one video a member's only video, the rest are Unlisted, meaning only people who had the original notification and area subs would see them at this point. Anyways, you can;t kill this nitro!
What was the fastest stadium truck at that time ? Single speed I should say.
hey bro, I'd say this was the second fastest 2wd stadium truck of all time. The fastest was the nitro rustler, it was claimed to hit 51.8 mph in a previous RC Car action review.
@@hybrid32494 Rustler!? Didn’t see that one coming lol Thanks for the reply bro.
With that cooling head screw like that, it will leak one day.. always use a drill bit the same size as the inside of the cap screw head so it just removes the material at the bottom of the screw head so the cooling head will slip up. trust me i learned the hard way and had to use smaller drill. you probably ruined that engine dmitry. try and find a new cooling head.
Make sickening nitro great again!
hey dude! thanks for checking this video out, means alot to me. This is more proof that you cannot kill a vintage nitro and that it's literally quick as SHYT!! lol...
@@hybrid32494 Right on brother, your channel is still ALIVE!
Mostly see rear exhaust on Traxxas nitros never seen one before on anything else bro sickening bro
Absolutely sickening bro just sickening
thank my dude! this is more proof that you cannot kill a nitro! we gonna speed test it soon.
@@hybrid32494 I'd say between 30 and 35 bro single speed? It looks very impressive
