Using a Mini Mr. Bulletfeeder on my Dillon 750

I inadvertenly said 650, but it's actually a 750.
In an effort to reduce wear and tear on my hands I picked up a Mini Mr. Bulletfeeder and so far I'm loving it. It hasn't taken long to get spoiled with this and I DO NOT miss having put bullets on by hand. Whether I end up keeping the mini or getting a full size version, I won't go back to placing them by hand again. Your video was great. No BS, just here is how it works. Folks could learn from you. Just got mine, going on a new 750. I still remember pumping out rounds at 400 RPH thinking I was breaking the sound barrier!! On a RL450. Wish I still had it, made the best 7.62 and the most accurate 5.56. No worries. Can definitely understand how it takes a lot more being put into doing a video than what many viewers realize. Overall, I think you did a pretty job with presenting the bullet feeder. One thing that I would of liked seeing, since the tube assembly is held in place with being offset from center, is how stable and functional the tube assembly is after its fully loaded with the bullets. I've seen a couple other videos of this Double Alpha bullet feeder and would say that the manufacture could of and should of made it more stable with an inexpensive-to-produce brace for helping to support the weight of 6 tubes filled with bullets. From what I seen and personally experienced with Lee's bullet feeder, they went cheap on the wall thickness of the plastic and they left the mating parts a bit loose which makes for a sloppy fit and over time it ended up getting fractures in the plastic and then cracked. Can see at 2:48 in your video whereby Double Alpha could of easily added a mere 5-10 cents worth of more plastic to make the seating area thicker for assuring the long-term durability of it
I agree about the extra plastic for long term durability. But in reality I just found that it was taking just as long loading all the tubes compared to just using it as a single tube unit and loading the tube while it was on there as I went. So ultimately that's why I got rid of it and just spent the extra on the full unit which is 1000% more functional if you can swing the extra cost.

I think the die is brilliant but if I could only fit 8 bullets in a tube - its not worth it! Might as well feed one a time, it won't break the rhythm. I think this would shine with shorter bullets. For 223 I set up RCBS gold match die where you can drop a bullet in a window and best part you could even seat flat base bullets!
Nice video well spoken. Question if Im only using Dillion dies for making all my bullets then Im actually short one die for seating. The Mr Bullet is actually taken the space for my seating the bullet. Because the next die is for crimping am I understanding this correct???? If so then I have to buy different dies so why buy a Dillion press???
Does this work with the Dillon Powder Measure or are you using another brand?
I have the mini bullet feeder but find that it’s quicker and more fun to just manually feed each bullet rather than take the time to load the bullet feeder. Also about half of the bullets tip over (9mm) and have to be corrected manually, even with quite a bit of case belling. And you are continually wondering when you will run out of bullets in a tube and have to rotate or reload the tubes. The fully automatic bullet feeder may be great with some bullet/case combinations but the mini bullet feeder not so much. Just my 2 cents.

If I buy it in one caliber do I have to buy another one in a specific caliber or can I just buy the additional magazines for each one such as from 308 to 9mm

Everyone I’ve talked to that’s had the mini bullet feeder regrets not just splurging on the automated one from the get go. Definitely cool though! Why does your title say 750 but In the video you say 650?

Hopefully you scooped up a 3d printer, I’ve got 6 case/bullet feeders printed this last week alone.
I watched this before but just came back to it. Sure others have mentioned you keep stating 650 in the vid, but you commented that its a 750. What was your resolution to the powder measure bar extending over station 4? Dont remember this talked bout in the video. The short powder bar?
I know I kept saying 650 but it's essentially the same as the 750 and the 750 was so new at the time I kept reverting to saying 650 but it doesn't really matter. As for the powder bar, I never used it with the powder measure so I don't have any experience with that, sorry.
Then what do you use with powder measure, the older style?
@@Letsroll000 when o was using the Dillon I dropped powder on my Autotrickler and dropped it manually.
@F-Class John actually is pretty important if it is 650 or 750 . On the 750 you cannot use the mr bullit feeder since powder messure open over station 4 unless you put it in station 3 where one would have powder alarm.
You can install daa short powder slide but not out of the box
Not sure if you have ever used a single stage press but wanted to ask if you feel you give up any amount of precision using the progressive press over single stage?
I'd be lying if I said no, but the real questions is if it's measurable precision. The truth is that I can load on my 750 (or 550) and using good practices along the way achieve the same ES/SD and vertical as when I was using single stage processes. That being said, not everybody may achieve the same success because while it's faster and easier when set up properly, it's definitely a lot more work getting it all set up properly and requires that you have a firm understanding of good reloading practices.

No worries about the video, the story is perfectly clear. I'm in favor of anything that reduces operator fatigue, so any loading improvements on a progressive are welcome additions.

Once you put a bullet feeder on you can't run the powder check can you?
For the most part that’s correct. My understanding is that they are working on a way to accommodate it but it would take some seriously work around to work as it is.
$100 for 6 plastic tubes ? Make one on a 3D printer for the heads . Attach them to the 3D printed end caps . $15 .
Joe, $100 buys the tubes, base for the tubes & the die (not just the tubes as you suggest). I appreciate that it’ expensive compared to the $15 you mention for the 3D printing materials & I assume a printer - I mean the printer is included in the $15 isn’t it?
@@Russell-1 well I already got the printer.. But dies too? that's not too bad. I won't be printing any dies on that anytime soon. I think ill just get the Mr. bullet feeder..

You said in your title that its based on the Dillon 750 but you said at the beginning of your video that youre using the Dillon 650. So which one is it?
It’s a 750 and I use a full Mr bulletfeeder system now.
Your title States 750, so where is it?

What caliber Mini Mr. Bullet feeder did you buy? They don't seem to sell a .284 version. And what mods did you need to do to make it work with 284 bullets?
It was a while ago but I believe I just bought the .308 one and don’t remember really tweaking anything. If I didn’t mention it in the video then I probably didn’t make any mods.
Can this be used with any bullet? I see you are using berger bullet.
It works with quite a few brands and weights although you may have to tweak it if it's not one of their listed one.

@@robd.5263 Probably but understand it can take some tweaking. If you're not the kind of person who can tinker with things then it isn't for you but if you can, you'll be rewarded.

What caliber droper die you have for the 284cal?
This isn't any faster than sticking bullets on by hand , you load this by hand and in my experience this way is actually slower , the real bullet feed is awesome this thing doesn't save you any time , plus it's way over priced . Skip this intermediate step and just save for the mr bullet feeder electric version .
Yeah I don't disagree with you for the most part. If you have the money the standard Mr Bullet is for sure way better and I've loved both of the ones I had for sure. For me at the time and maybe for others was the fact I was dropping powder by hand into the 750 and having the bullet feeder system (even when hand loading the tubes) did help me out, even if it was a little clunky compared to the full size Mr Bullet.
@FClassJohn I never tried doing prefer by hand on the dillon , if tge loads require that level of precision I go single stage .
