I Hated The MC 3!
I disagree with the Eren take. Eren didn't do what he did to save his people. He killed most of them himself, since only a small group of Eldians lived on paradise. Even then, he killed a large number with the walls when he started the rumbling. He only cared about his friends. By that standard, the rumbling worked, and all his friends lived peaceful lives. Not to mention, the war started again after what looked like hundreds to thousands of years in the future with the sifi buildings. To think there would be no war by then would be wishful thinking. He didn't try to stop the cycle. He wanted to put it on pause for as long as he could.
It's not like he didn't try to stop the cycle of hatred, he realized he just couldn't stop it. One of messages of Attack on Titan is also that the cycle of hatred cannot be stopped and that humans will fight no matter what because that's human nature. Erwin also said in something along the lines of "Conflict will never end unless there's two humans or less" in first part of Season 3, I think.

@@purpleplanet888 But it is human nature to have different views. Then argue and escalate that conflict instead of talking it out like Armin wants(which realistically has very less chance of success anyway). So whatever you do, human nature is to fight with whatever they have at hand which in that case was weapons and nukes.

There is some flaws in Aot ending and eren conclusion
But your explanation is wrong,
Eren represents freedom fighter more than he represents freedom.
And eren knew peace for eternity can never be achieved and cycle of hatred can never be broken,
He wanted that his Friends and people he love can live peaceful for their remaining life and he succeeds in that!
And the credit scene actually says alot that you can't create a world without hatred as long humans are alive and history repeats itself and eren story was just a part of that endless cycle
I hated Naruto when he was young until like chunni exams
I feel that I still hate Sasuke LMAO
i feel like the reason people (me included) hated naruto during that time was cause every other character was a beast. rock lee and gaara were just so much cooler than naruto. they had that actual protagonist feeling.

@@newp0rt Well that's the thing, it's actually difficult to put anybody besides Naruto to be the protagonist as far as the series goes
