  • How to test if an H02S 02 sensor heater element has failed.
Find the 2 wires with the same color.
    Set multi meter to Ohms.
    Use Ohms to measure resistance.
The Ohms should be 3-25 or the O2 sensor is bad and has failed.

Subscribed. I have been fixing my cars my entire life and I love it when I find someone that speaks my language!! Wife's honda 2013 accord v6 is throwing this code. Already did Cataclean and waiting to see if any codes pop up. If so, will look at O2 sensors. Getting better with my multimeter... Thank you for helping out the common man garage mechanics!! Pretty much what I thought I needed to do.

What should the heater wire read on the vehicle end of the o2 sensor harness for a 2uzfe
Top 2 points are ox+ and ox- and bottom left is B+ and right bottom is the heater how should I test it on the vehicle side of it

What about an “Air fuel sensor heater circuit response malfunction” message? What gives the “response malfunction message” part of the error?

so i need to completely take the sensor out in order to test the heater element side ?

It can be tested while still in the vehicle; just find the correct pins in the harness.

There are different methods to test the MAF sensor. Here is a video how I test them with a low-cost scan tool. czcams.com/video/kzISHRN1Qjs/video.html

What year engines would start to have this?

    • @HVAC_Mechanic

Most any vehicle with a fuel injected engine and a computer will have a 02 sensor. They moved from carburetors to fuel injection in the 1980s with most vehicles from 1990 on, fuel injected.

I would fix the P0172 and P0175 first which can be caused by several things, including the MAF sensor, Oxygen sensor, bad fuel pump, fuel filter, and possibly an injector. Each component will need to be tested. If the MAF sensor test is good, I would do a fuel pressure test to see if it is fuel related. Here is a video on how to test the MAF sensor. czcams.com/video/kzISHRN1Qjs/video.html

From what I have seen 2.4g/s would approximate a 2.4 liter engine, thus your observed result would seem to approximate either a 4 or 3 liter engine, assuming no vacuum leaks or other abnormalities in the air input system or other problems in the numerous other control systems.

@@simonflores3410 Have you cleaned the MAF with mass air flow cleaner? You should have readings in the 5 to 6 g/s range, yet a leak after the MAF could cause your observed results.

Code P0446 is related to Charcoal Canister. I replaced it and the code gone. Also on the way I noticed a blockage in the return fuel line, which I removed (it was after the Fuel Filter, which I replaced as well). The car was 2001 Saturn SL2.

Would not having cats make a heater circuit malfunction code come up ?

    • @collinsepulveda9670
      @collinsepulveda9670 Před měsícem

It shouldn’t cause the heater circuit to malfunction, but it would likely throw a code saying the cat is bad or create a rich condition code because of the lack of cata
