I can´t speak any dutch language, but learned refrain in dutch, to sing next year in Maastricht or Meestrech.

The musical composition rightfully belongs to a Romanian composer named Ciprian Porumbescu, that he launched in 1880 as a hymn for the union of Romanian principalities and was called ,,Imnul unirii - Pe-al nostru steag"'.
In 1912 when Albania became independent, they needed an hymn and they asked Romania if they can use Ciprian Porumbescu's instrumental for their hymn which Romanians agreed. A poet of theirs made new lyrics for the hymn.
A dutch composer Alphonse Olterdissen (1865-1923) without asking anybody took the instrumental and written new verses for a song which from 2012 is the town of Maastricht hymn.
I know that some Dutch people dont like Romanians, I could understand that, but the current users of this composition at least have the decency to ask for permission to use someone else work, especially when that work is about an important event in the history of a nation.
