Hesston Steam Museum Double Header 2023

On September 2, 2023, I made the trip up to La Porte, Indiana to visit the Hesston Steam Museum for the first time and to see their annual Steam & Power show. I saw a total of 6 steam locomotives operate throughout the day, each of which will be covered on the channel. However, I wanted to start off with one of the most unique events I've seen in steam railroading, only challenge my Cass Scenic's Parade of Power. For the final 2 runs of the day, Hesston combined the United Fruit Company 2 and New Mexico Lumber Shay 7 for a double header. It's very rare to see a Shay paired with a wheeled locomotive, so this was a unique thing to see. Enjoy!
