- Brandi Carlile posted on her instagram a cryptic message about busking at the Pike Place Market. "see you soon fish" she said! Less than 25 minutes later they were playing in front of the iconic Flying Fish. I work in the market and felt unbelievably lucky to have been right there while they setup and got to see all 4 songs. Dave
Grohl stepped into the audience, totally incognito (you can see him at the beginning of the first song to my left) for Brandi and the Twin's first 2 songs. I managed to get all 4 songs except the end of the first song on video, enjoy! I'm still pinching myself! After it was over there were maybe 150 people who had gathered, they took selfies with so many people and then left.
You can also see Brandi's mom as well as their kids, it was a family day for sure!
For those who wished i was in landscape mode. Yeah, me too. Let me set the scene here.. I was holding a 1/2 eaten egg salad sandwich in one hand, from 3 sisters so you know it was overflowing with egg salad. Many of my friends are Brandi fans, and I felt so honored to have been there. I wanted to share with them by going live on Facebook, which is in vertical format or the video would have been sideways. It never occurred to me that I was going to share this on youtube. So next time I'm in the magic moment at the right place and time I'll remember to turn my phone. There was a professional film crew with them so maybe this "gig" will show up somewhere. In the meantime, try to enjoy!
17 Grammy/Emmy winner plus over 28 nominations and a net worth of more than 260 mill usd... and still the most humble, inspirational guy you could think of... you can tell he really enjoys playing, no matter if it is a full stadium or this small plaza... so many "stars" should look up to him and learn what a real legends are like...
well "most" is a strong word since there are people like keanu reeves not to mention the people that totally dedicate their live to others (Keanu, Dave and the other artists have jobs, they dont do it full time), but either way Dave is a great person and a great artist 😉
Seen plenty of videos of Dave that suggest he might be abit of an a-hole so who knows
I was at Pike Place that day. I stumbled across this right about the time they started Times Like These. I’ve never had a religious experience before, but I’d imagine it has to feel pretty close to lucking into a front row seat at a free Dave Grohl concert
Seems like hardly a week goes by that I don't find some new (to me) piece of evidence of the extreme coolness and generosity of Dave Grohl.
Brandi and the twins are just such incredible and underrated artists!!! ♥️
Not underrated any more.
Dave and Brandi must be two of the nicest people in the music industry.
Dave would do this for the rest of his life if he could. He just loves the music and the people.
He's easily rich enough to do so. No way.
@@quikxfl Cool
He called me up last week and told me he'd love nothing more than to busk in the crime ridden, homeless infested, meth and fentanyl addicted, piss and shit smelling city of Seattle for the rest of his life if he could. Unfortunately, he just doesn't have the money to commit himself to do thing that he loves.
Dave is just the most humble dude. Love that dude.
Right on. He’s fantastic. A good human would be an understatement.
Years ago, I saw Dave Grohl at the airport in Seattle. He had one of his young daughters on his shoulders. Everybody left him alone. Just a Dad and his daughter. It was cool.
I know nothing about his music or career but have seen tons of things about him being a great guy, and the more I see, the more I like him...maybe should give an ear to his music
@@g.h.1726FOOFIGHTERS! YOU MUST CHECK THEM OUT. DAVE'S THE LEAD SINGER, AND A VERY COOL, & HUMBLE HUMAN 🌹🙏🏽
@@rosiefisher9904 Don't forget about his stint in Nirvana! :)
That is hard to do people. The ability to project your voice to be heard in that open space there is awesome, let alone making it so clear. Wonderful talent on display there.
Takes guts. Literally.
@@thatthingthatisaid65 well, shes had 45 years to practice on some big stages...
She got her start singing in high school busking in the pike place market. She’s talked about how learning to project and catch the attention of passers by helped her hone her craft. So the return to the market was pretty special and meaningful.
Well, she's got a tad bit of experience
I stumbled on to this by accident about a year ago drawn by Dave Grohl and confused by the presence of who I thought had been the lead singer for The Go Go’s. When I figured out my mistake I searched for Brandi and the first thing that popped up was The Joke. After repeated views I realized that only one time before had I ever been so affected by a song upon the first time I heard it. That was in 1970, when I heard Let It Be for the first time. So thank you for introducing me to Brandi.
Beautiful thing to see, Brandi & the Twins have deep roots; no matter how far they have traveled, they NEVER forget where they come from. They are faithful to their calling and they never forget share that gift humbly w/others.
(Mama & daddy raise em’ right)
Don't think I've ever seen a busker have the whole street shut up and listen the way Grohl did at the end of Times Like These. What a legend.
I freaking love that dude. Always have always will. He’s class
Pike Place is such a trip. Part tourist trap, part cultural icon, a lot of ramps, fish being thrown around (at least near where this performance was), and you just never know who you may run into. It's truly a special and unique place. I've only been there once, but it was one heck of an experience, even without famous people performing when I was there. Happy for everyone who got to see this.
Just regular folks... very talented, very special, regular folks. It's times like these we all learn to love again... thanks for posting this very cool moment in time.
Momma Carlile front and center!!! She must be proud.
I felt like playing the old Sesame Street "One of these things is not like the other". That man strums like a rock guitarist, not a singer/ songwriter. Dave the Transformer. Truly awesome! All four are tremendous talents. Those who know Brandi's music adore her, as do I.
Dave is a national treasure. 🇺🇸
So is Brandi
Brandi outshines him
@@ladesigner8764 time will tell…
The last of the great ones
Brandi always making my day brighter. Damn lord , that voice. Her and Elliot Smith get me every time. Great post !
That guy that came in just before the Beatles song was pretty good. He should keep it up, he may be someone some day. It was nice of them to let him join in. 😁😉
@Ivehadenuff you totally missed the joke 😂
Thank you for sharing this video for all to see. I really enjoyed it. Dave you will forever be one of the most inspirational artists I’ve ever heard. One day I hope to see you and the Foo Fighters play live.
Thank you so much for sharing!!! Love love love!!!
WOW, what a treat. Two of the coolest & best performers in our lifetime.
Thanks for uploading this! Would be amazing if artists did more stuff like this. I had the incredible luck of seeing the Rolling Stones put on an impromptu show in Central Park, NY. The only people who saw it were those who just happened to be nearby when they began playing.
Thank you Mary for capturing this!
Thanks for sharing this amazing video. My 2 favorite musicians ever
Thank you so much for posting!!! A couple PNW legends even though technically Dave isn't from Washington.
Just hear about this on Howard stern show. Wow!!! How wonderful!! Thnx for recording and sharing!
Thanks so much for sharing!!! Hope you were at the Gorge Amp this past weekend, absolutely magical joy all three nights!
*STANDING OVATION!* 🎶👏🏽 Bravo to Brandi Dave and the band. Odd to see Seattle Market that calm. Thanks for posting!
That’s the beauty of art and the magick of music. Four individuals were able to bring a gathering of strangers together to watch, listen, applaud and sing out at the top of their lungs in unison. Powerful stuff. PS Brandi’s harmonies were golden. 🤘🏻
lol
How I wished I was there!!! Thanks for the video!!
What a great moment captured!
He sounded great❣️ He’s so cool. Love that guy 💝
How wonderful that you post these magnificent appearances of the wonderful Brandi
Thanks for posting, what a treat! :)
That's the best I've heard Dave's voice sound outside the studio.
thank you for capturing this!!!!
What a wonderful world it could be.🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this. Especially after seeing Dave sing this in honor of Taylor at the memorial concert... And my favorite song (a tattoo of mine) is Let It Be. Thank you so much for including us in your amazing luck.
Fantastic! Thanks for posting this I enjoyed it very much.
Only been to Pikes Place once. Sure wish it had been THAT DAY!!! Lucky people!!!
These are the moments in life that lift you up!! Wish I was there, but so happy I can witness this amazing, beautiful performance. Thank you for sharing!!
Seattle
It's days like this I miss the most, I wonder how long it will be til people can gather to sing together. Music brings us together the pandemic is isolating us from the things and people we love.
On behalf of the band playing their hearts out, for little of nothing,...thank you for posting some of their music, instead of just posting Dave and Brandi's entrance.
I'm sure it made both of them as happy ,as it did me.
This was great !
Thanks much for vid.
Super cool thanks for sharing. I lived downtown for a long time and ran into a bunch of cool rock stars you wouldn't know them unless you knew them. Great video
Nice job on the video and sound. Thanks for sharing this 🤩
The fact that he sang the WHOLE song!!
Most give a few bars n stop.
What a trip..
No mikes, no amps . . . love it.
So great, made my morning!
Wow.. people close together listening to great music
Thank uou for sharing this...magic
What an absolute legend Dave is ! Such an amazing man 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘😘❤️
Love this love both of them
This video is priceless
The beauty of music. Absolutely magical.
Amazing. You are blessed to be there. At that point in time. But if that was Boston with all those people oh my God we love to sing.! Brandi knows that's where she's from
Good timing YT algo, that hit the spot!
Dave Grohl. Too fucking cool for school. Brandi is awesome. I am jealous of each and every one of the 150 people watching this.
Who would have thought. I would have been bowing at his feet. How cool is this!!!!!
VERY NICE!!!! I would have loved to have been there.
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
So cool! Right place at the right time!
Thank u for catching this magic
The one down vote was jealous they weren't there live. Thanks for the video.
Both thoughtful and kind no tickets no lines just people enjoying the music!!! For what music really is peace.
Dave has no idea how much he’s loved! 💥❤️💥🎸💥
So incredibly beautiful, even though a little painful today.
Such Good medicine! Let it be!
This is so great
Still amazing Dave. ♥️
Oh man, I lived in Seattle for 18 yrs. Was there at the height of Grunge and when Kurt passed (among others). I don't think I've ever gotten over that, and I am now 73.
Lucky for us you were there with your camera, thanks !!
I can't tell you how honored I was to be there and all I wanted to record it so my friends could be there too!
Rythm guitar is so cool. Let's hope we can do this again soon
I miss the before time.

Omg lucky lucky people. You have been blessed.
LOVE IT!
Dave: I only popped out for milk and bread. 😆
What an amazing experience to have. The audio on your phone(?) camera was really good. Thank you for sharing. :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was just reading about them in the latest issue of Rolling Stones Magazine with David Grohl on the front cover.
Tears of Joy..
“Hey,that guy looks just like Dave Grohl”. Lucky crowd!
I was on a flight with Dave from LA to Seattle the day before this. So cool!
Fake News!
Why you gotta lie, Steve?
Haha, true story, he was in first class with a coors light t- shirt and I was in the back of the plane with the peasants.

Enough dude, you've lost all credibility, you should be banned!
Your a Big Fat Phony!
Love Brandi and the twins ❤️
Good reminder to slow down and pay attention. You just never know who that musician is or will become.
Wow, these tourists got the Seattle experience.
Beautiful
awesome, and dave's Song is a son for these times!
Wish I was right there 😍🤠
It's ironic that dave singing "It's time like this" and most of the people video taping. I wish I was there. ❤️
I agree if I was there I would not pull out my camera but be engrossed by the moment and enjoy it.
May be it is because I am 63 and experiences mean more to me than an image or proof of the event.
Embodies every thing rock star should
I 💚Dave Grohl
Humildade! Por isso sou seu Fã! Deus lhe Proteja Dave!
Grohl is one of the coolest artists of our times.
COME TO ORANGE COUNTY !! OH PLEASE OH PLEASE!! Britney AND Dave are literally EVERYTHING 😍 🔥 ❤❤❤
it's like a big hug.
He is soooooo cool!
It would be an honor to have them perform!
i think this was when they were filming brandi's segment for cradle to stage show, really good stuff!
That first song though ... it just resonates
True talent!
This is amazing. I seriously would give up all my possessions to have witnessed this!
Think about what you said “all my possessions” to “witness this”. Are you fucking stupid? So no place to live, no money, no car, no clothes, no pets, no electronics, no food, all jewelry, all items normally inside where one lives............ for 15 minutes of live music on the street? Listen to yourself at just how fucking moronic that would be to do. You must be one of those people who could win a 900 million lottery and be broke and homeless in couple of year.
@@waynewayne9693 you must have a stroke whenever you read someone say "I would literally die if that happened to me" chill the fuck out man. It's not that serious, literally.
