This video will help you how to fix the error "An operating system wasn't found try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system" when you OS fails to boot.
The steps are simple, all you need to do is to recreate bootmgr. I have mentioned the steps that you can use to recreate it.

One thing i would like to clear for ya all,
If it says access denied in the attr command. Just keep following. When the thing is done just come out and go to the menu where you selected the usb drive there you will find a new entry. Which will be "windows boot manager (name of your storage device)" just select that and boot from it. Thats it

This is such an amazing fix. I installed Ubuntu on a separate drive, and it fucked everything up. Then I did a boot recovery and followed this guide and it fixed everything. Thank you so much!!

Guys if you recently added a new hdd, you probbably put it in lower sata value than the boot hdd and the bios automatically set it to the highest boot priority, so go to ur bios and set the 1st boot priority to the boot hdd

What if there were no boot files after the attrib -h -a -s and DIR. I even got successfully created boot files but they didn't appear when they did for you
Ohh I see, trying to copy boot files from other machines will resolve the issue
In bcd boot it gives error `BFSVC error :could not open the bcd template store status c000000f`
ur bcd store is gone... just kidding.. try rebuilding it.. using following commands
bcdedit /export filepath\filename
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd
hit enter after every command
if i am type attrib -h -a -s
i am geeting error is access denied
that's because the command that is getting executed could be from bootable media and not on the installed windows.. please check the location of the command , change the path and try again

When I was troubleshooting I had unplugged my 2nd hard drive, and when Windows finally properly booted, I thought I lost my second hard drive. Lol!!

so when the computer turned on i went to Command Propmt and checked there wasn't "bootmgr" so i created one.

Thanks a lot. I works for me. When followsing your procedure, I encounter some problems and some files did not appear as yours. However, I just ignored and followed your guide to the last command. The bootmgr still showed at the end. Then I restarted and It worked.

You need only to jump to the BCDBOOT because you was missing the correct booting,
By creating new booting files and success mean your back...with attrib or MBR or GPT some computers or users will not be able to access because its protected... For saving time boot with a Windows and CMD then create BCD file.

I don't have the "press any key to continue" button and when I go to f2 there's no cd option either
+Angel E okay, okay that is strange.. Under the BIOS option did you check all the tabs..there should be an option that allows you to change the boot sequence...is it possible for you send the screenshots of all the tabs from bios to me?

Idk why but every time I start my computer my hard drive rattles and starts to click so should I replace hard drive or get the Toshiba hard drive fixed and btw does changing the hard drive also changes Windows platform
+Sonia Diaz if it makes cluttering noise, replace it..seems some problem with thw hard disk head..meanwhile yes, changing the disk means windows will be reinstalled, better consider backing up your data to external drive before replace it..also format it properly before you handover the disk to vendor..this is only to protect your data..

U need to burn cd... download the windows OS and write the CD if you can use USB..I have another video that talks about how to create bootable CD and USB

i have a problem in this here show bcd is not recognized as an internal or external command., operable program or batch file
Seems you are running the command from different location.. Try to run ut from x:\ that is recovery mode

This means the command is being run from the Os Windows that has problems.. We need to run the commanda from the bootable media which is used to boot the OS

+DannyDaKing comman is not right, could you try rebuilding the bcd boot..use bcdboot commands
type > bootrec /fixmbr (writes mbr but does not overwrite partition table)
type > bootrec /fixboot (writes new boot sector to system partition)
type > bootrec /scanos (scans for other OS’s that you might want to add to bcd)
(personally I find the above unneeded and only use the last step)
type > bootrec /rebuildbcd (scans for other OS’s, unlike rebuildbcd it allows you to select the OS’s you want to add to bcd)

I saw the msg, MBR is damaged something like before.
main problem is can not opening the bios menu pressing key F2/del/f9,f10/f12 .
when f2 is pressed then saying "enter password".

Ohh, there should be a way to clear password prompt.. May be you can attach the harddisk to someother pc n clear the password.
