  • We are finally reviewing the 2012 HONDA CBR600F. This comes across as a bit of an unknown beauty but is it as good as it seems? How good of a 600cc sports bike is it? Is it a rival to the great Supersports such as the KAWASAKI ZX6R and the HONDA CBR600RR? Or is it a glorified tourer?

    These bikes are also extremely reliable and plenty fast enough, and comfortable! I like this era of Honda styling better than the modern one.

      You can lay behind the screen and it will do 150mph but if you stay below 7000rpm it's a great commuter. You complain about it being soft, this is easily fixed with "600RR" (not sure the year) springs and oils. Not expensive. @@pudmoto

    Great review Pud! I think these are deffo sports tourers as like you say they're comfortable and softer suspension where as the 600rr is a full on track monster so everything is just more lol,
    The brakes being soft and not having much bite is an easy fix mate... hel braided brake lines and some track/fast road pads and it should pull up real sharp then but it could also be due to not enough heat in the pads and tyres as well especially in the beautiful English weather we have haha, pilot power sports 3 are supposed to be decent in the wet as are diablos.

    I started life on the brand new SV650 black naked in 1999 and there's a reason it became so popular. The rest of the bike perfectly matches the capability of the engine, and it's very forgiving of new riders. Like you Pud I rode through winter and it never let me down once. Sadly we soon parted thanks to some shithead tea leaf. So I changed to the yellow 650s. We were together for a few years.
    I tried the new VFR VTECH for a couple of hours, and it felt like riding an elephant. It was easy to manage, but felt as wide as a car compared to a skinny v-twin.
    The only problem with the SV 650, as brilliant as they are, and as easy to get along with, they are underpowered. It won't take new riders long to envy bigger bikes.
    Great review Pud, it sounds like an awesome bike and impressive for the age. It make me wanna ride again. But what was the price?

    • @pudmoto
      @pudmoto  Před 4 měsíci

      Oh absolutely mate, i've heard very similar things about the SV650, absolutely brilliant bikes and people fall in love with them very easy but the lack of mega power certainly turns people away from them, shame really.
      Thanks alot mate, plan on doing way more review style videos, especially if I can get my hands on some more bikes, need a dealership sponsor haha.

    Ive had 2 of these over 4 years. Can sit on motorways and have plenty of power for overtaking.will sit at 100mph and not vibrate too much. Ive used it to commute in London and its perfect. No snatchy throttle etc . Lower power at low revs so it is easy to ride in crawling traffic. Front heavy helps that. 6 pot linked brakes are good enough. 100bhp is enough gor daily use. Id highly recommend this over the 650r

    The 600F was a great little sporty but comfortable do it all bike (quite like the VFR750/800 but with a slightly more sporty edge), it had 95% of the RRs performance and handling and it was only really at the track and pushing it were you'd find the RRs advantages, plus it was quite a bit more comfortable and the RR was the most comfortable of the middleweight super sports bikes of the time (the R6, ZX6, GSX-R600 and the Ducati 749) , I know the CBR650 is meant to be the modern version but IMO it's a poor attempt and lacks the character, performance and handling of the older F..
