      When a main or end title runs THIS long there's a possibility the program's final cut ran "short." Thank goodness Dominic's score is a gem to listen to -- normal length or extended.

    I always liked this show, and LOVED the theme. I remember liking the O'Brian episodes most (Angel Tompkins was a big reason, I believe). Upon seeing them all again a few years ago, I actually like the Franciosa episodes most. They were the most intricate and well written/intelligent ones. I never understood why this show only lasted one season.

    This is nice. The graphics are tops as is Dominic Frontiere's full, rich score.
    Another comment is due re its unusual length. I will offer that the studio gave respect to its audience by unusually and generously showing each of the performer's image and name. Furthermore, the gesture pays respect to the "artists," the performers appearing in "Probe." On shows like Aaron Spelling's "The Love Boat" and most of Quinn Martin's one-hour dramas we saw images of the main guest stars (and on QM's shows HEARD their name via announcement, too), but never the co-stars or lesser "players."

    Before reality tv and computer generated rubbish, we were fortunate to have a show like search /probe, unique in many ways, the first to have 3 rotating lead characters, each in their own way as likeable as the other, and in those times computers and the associated technology was there to serve us, not as it is today where the technologies have a tendancy to control us.

    • @kevinmanns7170
      @kevinmanns7170 Před 3 lety +1

      Actually it's the 2nd TV series to have three lead stars in rotation. The 1st was 'The name of the game' from 1968, starring Robert Stack, Gene Barry and....Tony Franciosa. As you may already know, Probe/Search started in 1972. I was 10 when it came out and I remember watching the Pilot movie 'Probe' on ITV in the UK, but we never got the 'Search' series over here. I guess ITV passed up the chance to show it. Maybe it was too expensive for them at the time. A shame, as it looked good.

      There is a radio channel in London called Classic Fm, they have a film night once a week, but unfortunately a total John Williams love-in.
      The guy on the show thinks he's an expert, sadly there is a huge hole in his musical vocabulary and it makes me very very angry that the name Dominic Frontiere is not in that musical vocabulary.
