- Fresh from the Smithson Archives, Indonesia's first DJ champion Tommy Fans opens the show at the 1991 DMC World Eliminations, Hammersmith Palais, London. As far as we know, Tommy was the first to set a 1200 on its side, perpendicular to the table.

It was surreal to see the turntable up and spinning in reverse. But strangely enough,
it has an addictive quality that makes you want to watch it again and again.
I also liked the overall warmth of the song selection, and I thought the fact that he wore a suit to the DMC was also aggressive.
It was a great breakthrough of a stereotype that I had almost forgotten about, which is not present in today's DMC competitions, and which destroys the current notion that you have to wear

00:50 when he started the backspin, the beat was not synchronized, he chasing it, only 3 steps were aligned.

1:17 again he didnt recognise the beat was not aligned till he realized and chasing it
1:22 he was trying to mix with this beat is hot ..the bass..but he failed, he manipulated by scratched mix,
1: 32 he got nervous
2: 51 he started the double up beat, but he lost his times.
the opening was wonderful....i guess you had to finish your candle light dinner first before join this championship.
I reckon DMC was trying to build their brand, by planting absolute novices, just to get people talking.
There's absolutely no way this guy has any knowledge of the previous 15 years of DJ mixing, 10+ years of scratching, & 6 years of DMC, at this point.

DJ tommy fans ini merupakan salah satu DJ senior Indonesia yang sampai saat ini Masih eksis. Beliau sering live streaming di FB bersama kawan²nya sesama DJ senior yakni DJ Steven foe, Adam Jagwani, Jockie Saputra, Kitting Lee dll.

Terrible from start to finish. Nobody was proud with themselves for just matching to records together, beyond the mid '80s. This guy just had some type of metal problem obviously. I think he was on his way to a science class, & he just took a wrong turn somewhere, poor lad.
