  • long awaited video so apologies for the delay, just remember the lower the flow temperature, the more efficient your unit should run :)

    Thank you SO much for these videos! I recently moved into a newly built council house, with this system...and no explanation how to use it. When I asked questions, I was told to use the room thermostats, and not touch the control panel.
    So a big appreciative thank you for your videos, and the clear way you explain everything that shows on the panel, how to change things, and the settings certain things should be left at.

    If you have a radiator system and a Mitsubishi wifi remote controller, then the Target Room Temperature (auto adaptation) mode is more efficient than Weather Compensation mode, because it operates in the most energy saving way taking account of both WC (external temp) AND internal (room) temp. In Target Room Temp mode, when room temp approaches target, the HP modulates power so the the temp curve flattens out to allow the HP to run for longer at a lower heating flow temp. With pure WC mode you get a considerable power spike on start up, but in Target Room Temp mode the HP ramps up power gradually to avoid this spike.

    Great video well explained thank you. Quick question. Is the high and low setting curves running concurrently or do select one or the other depending on time of year and temperature?

    Hi there! I have a question related to the compensation curve, as I want to turn it off and set a target room temperature. However, whenever I do this, the system automatically reverts my choice and selects the compensation curve. Do you happen to have an idea what might be the cause of that?

    So is weather compensation better than room temperature to use to heat your home

    Just came across your video. Two newbie questions if I may:
    1. If I have 2 zones, is there still only 1 compensation curve settings, as ex-pained in your video?
    2. You say the compensation curve settings may be set higher or lower depending on whether you have underfloor heating or radiators. What would be correct for zone being underfloor but zone 2 being radiators?
    Thanks for help you can give.

    That’s a very helpful explanation, thank you very much. I’ve set up the settings according to the video, however, it looks like the heating isn’t working at all (the pause icon appears nonstop even though the play button is on) as the apartment is just not getting warm. The water seems to heat up just fine. Do you have any advice for this?

    This has been really helpful, thank you - when you first go into the Compensation Curve menu instead of pressing the ‘pencil menu’ what is the purpose of the magnifying glass button please? On my unit it shows a range graph of 45 degrees down to -30. Many thanks

    This year going to try this rather than space heating option. Question for you. When using compensation curve will the rads be constantly on as there will be no target temperature (of the air) set?

    So the lowest temp is set on -2.. what about when it reaches -10 or so... i also have seltron wich controls heat pumps with termostat installed outside property ..can changing settings on ecodan confuse seltron..

    Hello, going into my first winter with Ecodan ASHP. Installed using Ecoflex - so didn’t get much of a handover.
    My weather compensation is now set up using your video (thanks - very clear). However installer said to use thermostat.
    Which is the most cost effective? 1939 semi detached house with new windows. Thank you.

    • @renewableheatingengineer8537
      @renewableheatingengineer8537  Před 10 měsíci +1

      there is no right or wrong answer, if you use the thermostat, this will give you a fixed flow temperature set in the initial settings by your installer, only time will tell as to wether or not you can use the compensation curve in your property, in some cases, we have seen heat pumps installed into properties that are not very well insulated and require the heating to be left on fixed flow say for example 54 Degrees. my recommendation here would be try the compensation curve, if it doesn't suit your requirements for your property, revert back to thermostat / fixed flow.

    Do you still need to "optimize" the curve if you are using the wireless thermostat/remote? 😄

  • @A_P_X

    Why is this function even needed? Can a thermostat not be fitted to gauge what's happening in the house to dynamically adjust the demand from the unit outside?

    • @renewableheatingengineer8537
      @renewableheatingengineer8537  Před 11 měsíci

      Heya, what area are you in ? P1 Error is a faulty thermistor, or possible setting issue in the initial settings menu. how old is the system ? did the p1 fault occur straight away or has this developed a problem, also are you using a Mitsubsihi wireless controller for the heating ??

      Hey Aoife, We actually cover this area so could help you out with this although availability at the moment is 4-5 weeks, failing this I would always recommend contacting Mitsubishi electric direct, they have a good list of service partners who may be able to accommodate a service sooner.

    When using the compensation curve should you never change the temp on your thermostat?

    • @renewableheatingengineer8537
      @renewableheatingengineer8537  Před 10 měsíci

      If you mean your 3rd party thermostats to control each zone, these only control the room temperature so you can alter the setting on this, it has no effect on the compensation curve settings on the main rc shown in this video :)
