- Wright State and Tennessee played in the opening round of the 2021 Knoxville Regional. All regionals are double elimination, with the one winner of the four team regional advancing to the Super Regionals.

One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

I live in Dayton. To most people not here, it's like "Wright WHO??" But yeah, they bring it. Reminds me of the school I played for in Iowa going on the road to play little Wisconsin-Oshkosh. This was late 80's. We didn't know till we got there that they had played for a couple D3 championships, and after one game, they had our respect, big time.

Crazy no doubt, but top 3 no way, this is a first round of a regional to a 4th seed (iirc). Watch the LSU Miami CWS final from 96 and plenty of other actual CWS comebacks and endings.
As a Wright State fan and alum this was definitely one of the best ball games I have ever seen. All respect to Tennessee. Hell of a team and great fans.

hell of a game, Wright state hit like 4 solo home runs in this game. they did so much damage with nobody on. That curveball was hanging up in the zone. Gilbert sent it to the moon. that's got to be a great feeling to do it at home in front of a packed stadium.
Anyone who knows NCAA baseball knows Wright State isn’t a 4 seed and they sure as hell aren’t the 3rd worst team in the tourney. They should’ve been in that Notre Dame regional as a 2 seed.

The crazy thing is what the cameras won't show you is that right before ferg hit it down the center he told gil that he is about to grand slam it for the win. The moment he walked to the plate everyone knew. Including Wright State what was about to happen. UT has done the same thing 10 other times this season. Based loaded. Pitcher knew if he got fancy it was over. So fast ball down the line.. Home run. It was a great moment to be a Vol. Yes we all hope we win it all. But.. It would be just a little sweeter to beat Arkansas in Omaha. UT is on a mission and night after night they are showing you that. Anyways. For real though. Hats off to wright State. Great ball club. Met some great people from Dayton tonight. This regional is very very tough. So. It could go anyway.
