COD 2 : IS THE D-DAY
Cod 2 was Pointe Du Hoc which was pretty different from Omaha
This deserves more likes, that's just my opinion
Each landing on D-Day was unique. The British and Canadians faced little resistance on Gold, Sword and Juno Beaches, as did the US forces landing on Utah. Omaha was heavily fortified and what many depict D-Day to be, and rightly so. Its success took longer than just a few days, but more like 6 weeks until the Germans lost Caen to the British and the Falaise Gap had been closed, allowing for the Allies to gain a solid footing into Fortress Europe
James Wright it took like one or 2 weeks where did u get this info?!
@@elucid2826 the British had managed to capture Caen by July 21st, which would have been around 6 weeks after D-Day since there are around 4 weeks per month.
The Liberation of Paris didn't arrive until August 25th, and the battle officially closed when the Germans had retreated across the River Seine on the 30th.
This means that the Battle of Normandy as a whole took the best part of 3 months to achieve victory, and the Germans has around two weeks to reorganise their lines in preparation for the next big Allied offensive, this being Operation Market Garden in mid-September.

An old tip from WWI never light 3 cigarettes because the first flash will catch the snipers eye the second he aims down the sight and the third ... He pulls the trigger
WW2 German soldiers weren't allowed to smoke. The soldier wad probably like "nein Deutschland orders you to stop smoking"
I remember the shock upon seeing that the cannons were just sticks propped up. It seemed so weird to me for some reason. I also like how in COD 2 there were several ways to approach, with a massive area whereas in WW2 there was only a small area.
Both areas are different 2nd rangers landed on the point de hoc while army landed on omaha which had bigger beach

Pew Pew Pew
I think it's not that unrealistic.
One of the German soldiers can be a Eastfront veteran
@@guy_with_gasmask5606 but still, the Germans where very against the Russian Communist and picking up a Russian weapon was almost unheard of. Plus, the PPSh 41 would not be a prime weapon for the D Day invasion since it is a close range weapon and D Day was not that. Plus, why would a German soldier carry a Russian weapon for all that time after his time on the Eastern Front for an invasion from the Americans, Brits, and Canadians. And the need for reinforcments were highly needed on the Eastern front since after the Battle of Stalingrad the Russians wrre really pushing into the heartland of Germany, so I'm not saying that there were not any Easter Front vets on the battlegrounds of D Day, I'm just saying there were few. In conclusion, there is almost no reason for there to be any Russian weapons on D Day
@@Dan-ft4tb good arguments
@UCO9Dli4HYQABtYGF5HDKJgA you do put up a very good argument, but still, having something as a war trophy and using it on the battlefield is much different. For example, my Grandfather fought in the second world war, and he took home an Iron Cross, yes, an Iron Cross and a MP-40 off a fallen German, but that does not mean he used it. Im not saying German Infantrymen did not take PPShs, but to 1) use them and 2) keep them and use them across Europe on a different front is very unnrealistic. Plus, with the Czech tank, thats because parts of Czechlevokia (did not spell right but idc) were part of Germany. Plus, before anyone says "The Third Reich held parts of thr Soviet Union too" thr Germans only OCCUPIED those paets while thry literally OWNED Austria and Czech. So I'm not saying that there is zero chance that any Germans used the PPSh on D Day, it is just highly unrealistic

No, this is just "yo, old games are always better, bruh". WWII is much more immersive and chaotic
The sound design in Cod 2 Is much better than ww2. Cod 2 has so much more going on: gunfire, explosions, screams, and that nostalgic shellshock sound when you fall down. Ww2 on the other hand has the sound of bullets quitely whizzing past and extremely polished explosions every few seconds.
Chris Clark the whizzing bullets be louder than artillery
You know heres my opinion I totally agree with you Chris....the nostalgia of Cod 2 is so much more enjoyable now here's where my opinion gets strict....Cod WW2 basically to me feels like they copied Saving Private Ryan but tweaked it a bit to not be a complete copy of it....the way you cant hear the damn raft running in the water the way the soldiers arent screaming or making much noise besides the MGs blaring down louder then the Artillery ...its just bullshit to me but Cod 2 it's like your experiencing a bit of the chaos
Those who stay stuck clinging to nostalgia fail to see what's before them here and now
In COD 2 you can hear the Higgins boats when you are coming in....in WW2 they run silent. It's just sad they overlooked that.
You're objectively wrong. The visuals in COD WW2 are much more jarring and focus on what its like to be a soldier on dday. It's more visually memorable. The sound is loud and jarring in both games. Stop looking at things with rose tinted glasses.

Especially carnage mod.
True
Always
Im planning on bying it but i cant decide between cod2 and cod3
I played Call of Duty 2 for the first time last month, so I say this without the influence of nostalgia:
Pointe du Hoc in Cod2 was a vastly superior experience than DDay in WW2. Sure the graphics are obviously better in the new one, but its cinematic nature is actually what detracts from the experience. In Cod2, you're dropped off on the beach, climb the wall, and from there its up to you to SURVIVE. You can feel the intensity of the battlefield because you, like your peers, can die at any moment, and this creates tension in the gameplay. The sounds and visuals (while old) only amplify this. In WW2, the cinematics create a disconnect between the player and the game. We see people dying around us, but we're rarely actually in any real danger because stuck in an unskippable cutscene when the battle should be at its hardest. Cod2 has the restraint to let the player experience the tension of the battle with its gameplay, but WW2 only does so with its visuals.
Totally underrated comment :(
you said the truth
Actually COD 2's graphics are still good.
Couldn't agree more hun
This comment here is straight up speaking fax
Never thought of cutscenes this way. Yes... it's certainly different. I'm currently playing through CoD2 for thr first time, and it's 2023 (MW2 S02 just ended so I might get back into it for S03). I gotta say... sure, the graphics, AI, level design, sounds, it's all outdated and the world does feel kinda barebones and empty looking many times, but still, it felt hectic, chaotic, overwhelming, just like war should feel like. People getting shot and coming out of the boats on fire, I get knocked by a blast, got up, picked up an M1 from a dead comrade, climbed the rope as another soldier died in front of me, and started sending bullets like there was no tomorrow. CoD 2 is just as good as people say, even to this day.

When it comes to story I felt more immersed in COD 2's campaign. There were three different campaigns Russia, Britain and America. Before each chapter there are segments of history documentaries outlining the battle you are about to be participating in, and before the mission there is a diary entry you can read from your character perspective. Already you know what you're about to do and what your characters thoughts are.
The mission design was also immersive in COD 2, my favourite being Pointe Du Hoc. Instead of making a generic Omaha or Utah beach segment that has been over used in all kinds of media. They went with telling the story of the 2nd army rangers (a real unit instead of some fictional one), you could also see that they put time and effort into copying the real beach. You can play the mission and look at a picture of Pointe Du Hoc and instantly recognise things.
The dialogue between soldiers is also entertaining, often you would hear you allies fling insults at the Germans as well as constantly communicate with each other. When it came to character building there were no scripted over the top cutscenes, it usually was just some dialogue about the situation. One mission The battle for hill 400, starts with your sergeant stating how hopeless the situation is but you and the few remaining soldiers must fight on for the wounded in the bunker.
Overall I felt more immersed in COD 2 all 27 mission more playtime than the 4 hours of WWII. Most of which were fun even on veteran I felt a great accomplishment after my many deaths on just getting past that street or building that was leading me ever closer to the end of the mission.
I would really recommend picking up COD 2 over COD WW2 if you're looking for a nice campaign experience that isn't a chore to replay.
Also one more thing all LCP skippers were British COD 2 gets it right While WW2 throws historical accuracy out the window.
Sarge Sacker25 Cod 2 had a bunch of memorable characters and moments.
Fortress Stalingrad, the last mission in the soviet campaign was absolutely amazong. After all the urban fighting and retaking of Moscow and Stalingrad, you get assaulted by 3 absolutely massive waves of germans, while you’re in a block with your sniper rifle and Panzerschreck. By far the hardest mission in the game on veteran, but also incredibly memorable and fullfilling.
Now we go to the British campaign, which delivered the most memorable characters in Cod, Cpt. Price and Pvt. Macgregor. You fight your way through Egypt, Tunisia, Libia in some of the most fun levels in the entire series. The whole game could be just the English campaign, and it would still be great. MACGREGOR! It’s amazing how, with a lack of cutscenes, they made these 2 characters stand out so much. This was in 2005 and they were still better than Pierson and the other guy.
From the most fun campaign, we then head on to a harder one.Asaulting Pointe du Hoc, this campaign surely has the most intense start, having you climb the cliff and then fighting your way up the beach to reach the artillery, only to later be pushed back by incoming german reinforcement. After much trial and error, maybe too much, you manage to finally retreat to the beach and hold your ground. It’s very hard, and it will take tons of atempts to not be one of the 180 soldiers that died, but actually survive. You thought that was hard? Well, yeah, it was, so we’re gonna give you a break while you go throgh this urbanized area filled with Krauts, but after you survived Pointe Du Hoc, it feels like a walk in the park. Did you enjoy your walk? Great, now you’re gonna atrack fucking Hill 400, and you’re gonna die, a lot. After you finally take it, you just wanna relax, but wait. There’s another german counter-attack. And you’re dead. You respawn and die again. How many times did you die on your way to this Hill? 20,30? Maybe more? Whatever that number is , triple it and you’ll see how long it will take you to defend this damn hill. Once your reinforcements srrive and you go on your way to cross the Rhine, you feel like a God. Unstopabble. And you sure are, going through Germany like it’s a walk in the park. Only, you jnow, you get filled with bullets and your eardrums feel like they are about to blow up every second

The newer cods have the little sonic cracks that would actually happen and the older ones sound kimda comical but the game play of cod 2 compared to ww2 is great but I personally like some of the story elements from ww2 but they could've really done better
I just noticed that cod 2 accurately depicts the landing craft operators as being from the British navy, something that was wrong in saving private Ryan and most films and games thereafter.
Pojomania there were British Navy drivers but not all of them were
Yes they where
Some of the drivers of the boats were British in Saving Private Ryan. Remember when the one Brit says “we’re closing in... god help us all.”
I love the movie Saving private Ryan! Its great my favorite ww2 movie.
If cod 2 remastered came out (better graphics same game) it would be better than WW2
Yep!
They will not do it because they are going to leave evidence that the CoD2 is better than WWII.
No it wouldnt
Ww2 is basically a remastered cod2. Aame character names and designs...same scenes
@@djteq9 not even close.
CoD 2 had sound effects that was actually loud enough to simulate the warfare, unlike CoD WW2, it’s just kind of boring, it’s not intense enough.
I like how the sound effects are loud to simulate warfare, but it would get annoying
Exactly. I loved WW2's graphics, animations, gun sounds and all, but in the end, it lacked the "punch" WW2 games should have. COD 2's Point Du Hoc feels like insanity, and if you're on veteran difficulty, you'd always be on edge
Cod2's american campaign had such an amazing sense of urgency. Hill 400 was another really intense mission. The original games had some really creative ways to amp up tension, like the start of the Russian campaign in Cod1 where you're just handed ammo and no weapon, then thrown to the wolves. CODWWII is just not quite as atmospheric despite its graphical enhancements. I think probably it stems from philosophical errors. The early COD games positioned you as an average soldier and you don't really do much crazy stuff or anything world changing. All this changed with modern warfare obviously. CODWWII keeps the super-soldier agent mindset but puts it in a realistic WWII setting a la Cod2, and it just feels kind of phony.
I think CoD 2 does the job better because it lets you stay more in control over the actions, while CoD WW2 is more cinematic and has cutscenes all the time. Also, CoD 2 is louder.
Centurião Gamer They didn't try to do a good job with the game. They're at that point where they can make a bad boots on the ground game and people are still satisfied
Cod ww2 tries to be like a movie but ends up being both a shitty game and a shitty movie.
Anthony Dominguez Yeah, unfortunately
Extra Dip Exactly
natedrak3 I didn't so I can't judge that much, but from what I've watched, yeah, it's shitty

@@miruharabae If Wolfenstein can do it then COD can do it too.
@@Br08281997 yo but what if they made a whole new story line that connects all the og characters from the ww2 cods like how modernwarfare and black ops are doing but it be strictly in that time line and maybe like a ww1 flash back for a general or something? I think that would be coo

I played COD2 for the very first time only a couple of weeks ago and I’m impressed with how well the graphics still stand up today. Also, the campaign easily stands up alongside the likes of COD4, World at War and Black Ops in terms of quality.

If cod WWII had sounds like COD 2....like COD 2 had so much going on, the screaming, gunfire, etc, COD WWII SHOULDVE taken note from COD 2 and added sounds like that into the game, and with the technology we have now a days that shouldn’t be too hard.

COD 2 gameplay is so realistic that u actually feel like you’re fighting a war

Cod ww2 is more like an interactiv movie and cod2 is more immersive for the playeur.
In fact you feel like beeing the soldier in cod2 and in ww2 it's more like '' watch how that scene is cool like in saving private Ryan. That's why it's more quieter in cod ww2 (it's a movie)
except saving private ryan actually had loud noises unlike codww2 but i see ur point
