Great video! very encouraging.. Thank you.
I operated industrial CNC mill back in the day we would set up to run over night. 😊
Right off the bat the guitar... I have been making guitar cutting boards using a full size template for a Strat from a build I did with my son. I am going to grab that guitar file, and probably make smaller templates for more manageable sizes. I had a background in drafting, but even with that the CNC has been a learning experience.
Super Great Information!
Good info Matt! I noticed several Milwaukee folding knives. Too far gone now brother. LOL, I got 3-4 myself.
Awesome love ya work bloke. Keep displaying the good news
Ugh 🙄
I think a cnc machine would be pretty cool to have. It seems like there is an endless amount of things to make with it
except money
Great t-shirt as well !
I don't see the D&D dice tray on your site. Do you ever plan to make more of those?
He said I could let it run while I’m asleep. Nice! 😂😂😂
Enjoyed the video!
Thank you
Just looked at your site. Didnt see plans for the small tool tray. Any plans to add that to the site?
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Great work !
Thanks a lot!
Hey Matt I live in Canada Niagara Falls area. I'm really thinking of CNC and doing this for a retirement project. Can you tell me are there any dealers or local guys who own a machine that I could talk to.
I started to make one of those commemorative hammers that you showed.
The police came just after I started and arrested me. I was charged with mallets aforethought...
lol
Good video
You deserve your PUNishment, then.
Have you ever made cribbage boards? I’d be interested in one made of walnut.
I haven't made one yet. I do have the kit to do one though.
Great video Matt! What software do use to create new projects for the cnc? Carveco has been a challenge for me..
Thanks. I’m using Carbide Create
Do michigan state shape cwthcbalk trays
Do you have furniture plans.?
Very nice products. I’ve been considering getting a cnc machine. What thickness will the cnc machine cut? Can they cut arm chair pieces out of 2x12? Thanks
Varies by CNC machine's "Z-Travel". The model he's showing ($2300 base price) has a 4" Z travel.
I got started with a real basic kit off Amazon ($500) and even it can do 2.8" Z which fits a 2" thick board. I've been making coasters and small cutting boards and the like on it.
Mine is a lot smaller on length and width, though, because it's geared towards metal, but they make 'em in all sizes!
Can I make a small business with older standard cnc router
Matt - In one of your future CNC videos perhaps you could talk about the software and the costs of it. I know that for some you have to pay each year to keep it updated. Maybe you mentioned this in one of your videos and I missed it but if not then it's just an idea for you. Thanks...great video as usual.
Thank you, Carbide Create is what I use, it's free. There is a Pro version but the basic version that will do a lot is free.
@@731Woodworks Good to know...thank you!
Where do you purchase your black walnut?
Thanks
Your work looks great!!!!

You are a special man! You don't mind showing where you started and where you are now! I think you are religious and stand for it, you share with love. And that is special during this time! May God bless you for what you do and that you will be prosperous. ❤🙏🏻
hey Matt can you show what it's like to change bits during a cnc project? i'd like to know the methods you use so you don't ruin a project during bit changes and still keeping the router in the same spot
Its easier then it sounds, normally you'll end up with 2 different toolpaths to run, once the 1st path is done it then should return to the position you started at, the only real thing you have to do is zero the z axis to the material again since you put in a new bit. Might have to raise the z axis some also to change bit out, long as you don't move the y or x axis then everything should stay aligned.
@River Rats Creations thanks for the info
When I win the Powerball Wednesday night, I'm buying 2 of the Model Shapeoko 5
I would loveto have a CNC.
Have you thought about adding a laser? Thx.
I have, but just don't have any good options to vent it out.
@731 Woodworks I just use a fan to blow smoke out the door!
Any comments on small cnc machines like what you find on Amazon?
I've never used those. Check out Andy Bird Builds channel, he has some videos on those.
The mdf you use, do you buy it from home depot or lowes?
I think I got this MDF at Home Depot.
@@731Woodworks You ever tried to carve mdf other than cutting out a shape?
Where do you buy your wood from?
wtghardwoods.com for most of it.
A breath of fresh air to see a CZcams woodworker who is representing Christ instead of talking about sexual stuff. Thank you for the great content and representing our Lord and Savior!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼😎
If anyone is looking to buy a cnc with sole purpose of making money,…dont. You’re not getting rich even with multiple machines,if you don’t have your MARKETING locked in, those machines will sit idle. You can have a great quality product but without marketing no one will know that you have a great product. Etsy and eBay won’t cut it
Nice items😊Gonna be shot down for this but in my view CNC is not real Woodworking 🤫
And some say using power tools isn't real woodworking
I kinda agree but if it can use up some of your scrap pieces of wood and make you money to reinvest in your business.
I've had this conversation before with Matt and others (Howdy Mr. 731).
The plain jane nuts n bolts of it is that using CNC to shape wood is NOT "woodworking", it's automation. Slap a piece of metal on there, is that now "metal" working?
No. There's no skill involved in using the tool yourself to shape the wood/metal. The "skill" is in the programming of the computer, the CAD software. That, in of itself "IS" a skill and has quite a learning curve to it. I've programmed, written and drew, as well as written decisive "G" code. It can be extraordinarily time consuming depending on the intricacies of the project.
But is it "woodworking"?
No. It is not.
Others say using any tool then to shape wood isn't woodworking then. And that's not true. To those who say that, go ahead, shape your wood with your fingers and fingernails.
A tool of some sort is always used. Hand chisel or electric router.
The difference between hand held tools vs. CNC is the INDIVIDUAL wielding the tool and his/her skill and experience with that tool.
But....The point of Mr. 731's video wasn't about that, it was about making profit off of easy to do designs if you had the means to do so. Period.
@@bw162 And so too the dogma continues. As per your own analogies. If you're a pilot and then hit the auto pilot button, are you then the one flying the plane? No, you are not. The computer is flying the plane, you are just sitting there monitoring the instruments.
Same thing with a CNC. You are NOT in control of the work being performed, you are an observer.
As I mentioned before, I've got the skill to run and write cnc programs too. I know what goes into it and it is ALOT of hard work. But in the end, it's the machine following a program. MUCH different than the machine in your Skull and you using your hands to control the tool.
The guy I learned CNC from had 15 years under his belt, but he couldn't cut a straight line on a tablesaw to save his life. He was a CNC machinist, NOT a woodworker.
@@bw162 Nor was I implying you were.
It was in reference to this particular debate that's been going on for years and years about "IS using a CNC to carve/shape wood actually "woodworking""? 😳
There's 2 sides to the coin and always will be.
ETSY payment processor requires your username/password TO YOUR BANK. That’s a hard pass.
Only about million people selling on etsy.
I was always taught, if everyone is going left that means you go right
That's part of why you set up a separate business bank account for online payments. Only cost a few bucks for the initial deposit.
If you're doing it as a business, it's probably smart to set up a separate bank account anyways for it as it simplifies any financial issues
You're wrong I use etsy all the time
Subscribed then you called out dungeons and dragons and unsubscribed. Shame
🙄
These are brutally boring suggestions.
I appreciate your feedback, but I'm not sure how to make suggestions about CNC product more thrilling. Maybe I can add some explosions and car chases in the next edition? I'll see what I can do. 💥
Hello matt!
Thank you for your woodworking content 💪🏻🪵
In this Video you are introducing cut rocket.
But can you Help me - how can i Open a c2d file…
I would love a CNC. Can't afford it. But they would be great to own and make money with. God bless 🙏🏻✝️❤️
I saw yall over on @Cash2.0 channel petting that giant Great Dane and @LtRowdy-ws8zy the mini horse.
