    Honestly if they kept the clone wars side story arc of Cade Bane taking in a Young Boba Fett into a master bounty hunter and a ruthless killer because Cade Bane felt that the Jedi had robbed him of the chance to face down Jango Fett the one person in the Galaxy, Cade felt was truly his equal and had looked forward for the day they would showdown who was better, but Mace Windu killing Jango, denied the duros bounty hunter the opportunity.
    Cade Bane decides to mentor the orphaned son of his rival until the young Boba reached a skill level compared to Jango so that Cade could finally get that duel he waited for so long.
    Imagine this arc ends with the duel and Boba kills Cade Bane., it would be satisfying end to an arc and the moment Boba finally earns his credentials as a galactic renowned bounty hunter. The problem is that Cade Bane fight happen far too late in Boba's career

    Mace Windu being number one because why???? He literally served his purpose in the prequels and HAD to die because he isn’t in the original trilogy, same goes for Padmé and Grievous and I love these characters!
    Also not having Luke Skywalker on this list just shows how out of touch What Culture is as a channel because, like what??

      You could argue that Luke dying at the end of the sequels is the same story arc/served his purpose as Padme and Grievous in the sequels, moving star wars on from the skywalkers in general. I don't disagree with you really, but it's a similar sort of take?

      I only remembered this due to the fact the actor mentioned how depressing his role was.
      He appeared for one scene, dies off screen, and his whole purpose to be there was so the director can have him say "It's a wrap".
      It was clear this movie did not care for it's legacy characters and their passionate actors.

    Captain Phasma may have been the worst. They messed up in her first appearance, knew they messed up so they brought her back, and then did the exact same thing again. Messing up the same character’s death twice is different levels of bad.

    I can understand why Cad Bane had to die, but what it lacks is proper build-up. I had to go onto Wookiepedia just to find out how these two even knew each other. There's definitely a deep emotional reason Boba had to end him, but without the context it just falls flat.
    Someone really needs to make this context to better justify the kill is all I want

    There was a cut scene with Captain Phasma. Finn tells how Phasma easily gave him the codes on Starkiller Base and how much of a coward she was. The other Stormtroopers reacted.
    Captain Phasma just seemed shoe-horned in. If she was the stormtrooper that fought Finn and called him a traitor, this character would've been more interesting.
    It's a shame with Morgan Elsbeth. Diane Inosanto is a good martial artist and I would've like to see more of her.

Hopefully he’s secretly the rogue assassin trooper!! Honestly, as well done as his death was, it would’ve made more sense to kill off Crosshair at the end of the series to finish his redemption arc with him sacrificing himself over killing Tech!

    Interesting video, although I personally I'm about 50/50 with this one:
    Val - I do agree, she didn't deserve to die in Solo. And as stated in the video she wasn't originally supposed to. They should have definitely kept her alive, she was cool.
    Marrok - he was just a zombie. Likely a fallen Jedi killed by Darth Vader during the purge, and was resurrected with night sister magic. Nothing more or less. He did just fine in the Ahsoka series as he was.
    Admiral Ackbar - episode 8 was the movie for him to die in for sure. However, it should have been him pulling the Holdo maneuver.
    Captain Phasma - this should have been number one on this list in my opinion. Completely underutilized character that could have really had an impact on Star Wars as a whole. I remember when the trailers were coming out for episode 7, I saw more of a Darth Vader level of intimidation with Captain Phasma then I did Kylo Ren initially. Incredibly wasted potential.
    Snoke - like Admiral Ackbar above, Snokes death in episode 8 actually did have merit, and could have worked in a storytelling sense. The problem was Darth Sidious returning, and revealing that snoke was nothing more than a clone failure puppet thing in episode 9. Snoke dying was fine in my opinion. Terrible execution in the aftermath is what ultimately leads to his death being at all problematic, if at all.
    General Grievous - I can understand why he is on this list, but, he did get a lot of recognition and material in both Clone Wars series, as well as in comics and books. For the average Star Wars fan who never watched clone wars, I can understand why his death in episode 3 was like WTF. But his death to Obi-Wan did make sense, and is definitely with merit.
    Padme Amidala - I do agree with this one. She should not have died immediately after giving birth. If anything, when I was a kid, I imagined her being close with Leia on Alderaan and maybe had died some other way between episodes 3 and 4, or, maybe died with the destruction of Alderaan by the Death Star in episode 4. That would have given Carrie Fisher's performance of dread right after that planet's destruction way more weight.
    Cad Bane - this entry I neither really agree or disagree. CAD Bane duking it out with his former apprentice was maybe one of the only really good parts to the Boba Fett show. And, Boba being the one to put him down does have its place of merit. But, I could also see Cad Bane causing more cool mayhem down the road further in the Star Wars lore that could have been explored.
    Morgan Elsbeth - I disagree, I think that Morgan Elsbeth definitely did her Duty as a villain. I don't see her fight with Ahsoka as unceremonious, it was a pretty cool fight. She held her own pretty well against the likes of Ahsoka who at that point in time has now become the bearer of the light in the force.
    Mace Windu - absolutely disagree with this one. I love Samuel L. Jackson, you love Samuel L. Jackson, we all love Samuel L. Jackson. The man is an absolute freaking Legend. If he does find his way back into Star Wars as a whole different character, awesome! But Mace Windu is totally dead. The man was about to kill Darth Sidious, with his full intention in doing so. He had no idea that Anakin was going to slice his arm off right then and there to protect Sidious. So, he goes legitimately into shock right then and there with a severed limb, followed immediately by a full charged blast of Sidious's Force Lightning, launching his body easily thousands of feet away and down. Even if he landed on a 50 meter tall whoopee cushion, he was almost certainly dead before impact. The Battle of Geonosis is not comparable. He had his full attention to his own defense from the flamethrower of Jango Fett, and was able to concentrate and control his fall from what looked to be somewhere between 25 to 30 meters. An impressive feat, yes, even for a Jedi Master at the level of Mace Windu. But even a master of his stature going through that crazy moment with Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, there's no way he could have survived that fall. Assuming as mentioned before he miraculously survived the trauma before the fall.

    Probably not a popular opinion, but honestly? Having been in the Star Wars fandom since way before Disney bought it and seeing the cavalcade of writer-beloved bounty hunters/roguish criminals who plot armor their way out of permanent death, I felt a sense of satisfaction seeing Cad Bane stabbed and fervently hope he doesn't get resurrected.

      Not to mention he was very old by this point. He lived as a bounty hunter and was killed by a bounty hunter--it was a fitting way to go. There's still plenty of stories from his long life that could still be told without keeping him alive longer.

    - Val was a throw away character
    - Ackbar was a one liner
    - Phasma and Grievous were just there to sell toys
    - Snoke's death was both one of the most awesome scenes in any 21st Century Star Wars, but was necessary to move Kylo's chracter forward
    - Padme only died because George didn't watch the OT before writing the prequels
    - Bane always looked like he was holding back a turd that desperately wanted out
    - Mace isn't really dead, he was found (and nursed back to health) by Jar Jar, the two then became friends, moved in together and lived out their lives in the Coruscant suburbs, where Mace runs a bar and Jar Jar is a Fedex delivery boy.

    Agreed, Mace Windu's potential as a character could be realized to its fullest if he's brought back with his own show. So far, even with the addition of Clone Wars his character has been wasted, made solely to be a foil to Anakin as the mean boss type and NOTHING else!

  • @IRanOutOfPhrases
    @IRanOutOfPhrases Před 3 měsíci +1

    Ackbar - Meh. We love him for the memes he provided via RotJ. But within the confines of the movies, his character didn't warrant anything too extravagant for a death scene. Even in RotJ he's just a stand-in commander that doesn't particularly do anything all that important.
    Phasma - I like the ST. But. This character was a waste of screen time. MAYBE she would have had more impact if they would have properly played up Finn better? You say killed too soon, I say, "Wait, which one was that again?"
    Snoke - As I said above, I like the ST. And I actually have no qualms with Palpatine being the puppet master all along. While its quite possible that they didn't make that decision until the third movie (which, the OT did critical things like this as well dont forget), it was quite clear that Snoke was basically your stand-in for not having Palpatine anymore. He didn't bring ANYTHING new to the table: obvious evil dude who is old with a dark and mysterious origin. I never felt all that attached to him. He was never really the focal point of either of the two movies he was in. Replacing him with the direct source of his inspiration was an upgrade, no matter how much the internet tries to disagree with it.
    Grievous - Basically the PT's version of Phasma. Another character who I just didn't understand the point of. In retrospect, he's also aggravating to think about just how much of a waste of time the PT truly was. In ANH, Obi-Wan says that Vader helped hunt down the Jedi. But never, not once, do we see Vader kill any Jedi. In fact... As far as the movies go? Obi-Wan seems to be Vader's only Jedi-kill. And even then, it's because Obi took an intentional death. Meanwhile, we got this guy Grievous who seems to have at least 4 confirmed Jedi kills. Pathetic waste of time. And this is extra criminal due to how much he looks like a battle droid: one of the most non-fearsome creations in all the Star Wars universe. Sure, a battle droid that rolled around in some of the TGRI goo from the Ninja Turtles, but a Battle Droid nonetheless. Every time he was on screen, was just a big waste of time. Was he resistant to getting force-toppled over or something? I don't understand how this guy was ever a concern.
    Padme - This one, yes. This is why I wanted to make this post. I agree with this one. One major issue the PT had was how much time they wasted. The OT defined the story for the PT, and the PT had little interest in telling it. They forgot to ever show Anakin channeling hatred to win fights. They forgot to explain why Yoda went into hiding. They forgot to tell a compelling reason for why the twins were separated. They added in an extra complication as to why they'd send one of the twins to Vader's home planet. And they forgot to explain why Leia was able to have early childhood memories of her real mother, but Luke had none.

    The deaths listed here I sort of agree that they were wasted or not presented in a compelling way to make viewers feel for the characters. Just about all of the disney star wars characters are two dimensional and if they didn't have a good entrance then they won't have a good exit. Furthermore, disney star wars has no respect for the original characters and killed them off the same way all of the Transformers were killed in the movie in 1986 (that deserves a video). Also, disney star wars does not know how to write a compelling story and build character arcs. So their existence was just that, an existence. Not a reality of being important to the story. In my opinion, the one character that should not have dies is Biggs in the first Star Wars movie. I wish that after Yavin 4, Biggs, Wedge and a few other pilots would be the basis of Rogue Squadron and these boys would be the ones who were the hotshots. It would have given Luke people around him for his character to grow. Darth Maul and Dooku should have not been killed off with out compelling stories to be shown on screen. I said a long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away that you guys could/should do a list of Star Wars Character deaths that happened too soon before their full potentials were realized, etc. I had quite a few "likes" for that comment. Now you finally did one and nearly everyone appears to be disagreeing with your choices. Personally, I liked this list - Still, never mind. You gave it a shot and speaking of shots, I'm having a few Whiskies . . . . Cheers! Killing off Tala Durith & Pong Krell within Disney's Star Wars Canon timeline was ridiculous as well, Tala Durith could have played a big role in taking down the Empire & Pong Krell could have been an inquisitor for Palpatine Cad Bane didn’t die Agreed, Mace Windu's potential as a character could be realized to its fullest if he's brought back with his own show. So far, even with the addition of Clone Wars his character has been wasted, made solely to be a foil to Anakin as the mean boss type and NOTHING else! Why didn't you mention Tallie Liner, introduced the beginning of TLJ, having an influence on Dreadnought battle, and getting killed 15 minutes into her appearance Gin was a great character There's plenty of Cad Bane's life that we know nothing about between the end of the Clone Wars all the way up to BoBF Oola should be on this list DARTH MAUL!!!!! *Like I get it that he survived and was featured in the animated stories and a cameo in the Han Solo tale....... But the original trilogy cut him a little quick!!!!
    Also, Qui Gon Jin is Probably not a popular opinion, but honestly? Having been in the Star Wars fandom since way before Disney bought it and seeing the cavalcade of writer-beloved bounty hunters/roguish criminals who plot armor their way out of permanent death, I felt a sense of satisfaction seeing Cad Bane stabbed and fervently hope he doesn't get resurrected. Interesting video, although I am personally about 50/50 with this one: Val - I do agree, she didn't deserve to die in Solo. And as stated in the video she wasn't originally supposed to. They should have definitely kept her alive, she was cool. Marrok - he was just a zombie. Likely a fallen Jedi killed by Darth Vader during the purge, and was resurrected with night sister magic. Nothing more or less. He did just fine in the Ahsoka series as he was there just now.

    2:08 "Marvelous" show? Did you actually watch the show?! With your eyes open and the screen actually on? What, did you find the long and unnatural pauses between characters talking very compelling, the non-sensical retcons inspired or were the slow and emotionless arm-crosses very thrilling for you?

      Agree 100%. Maul was top of this list for over 10 years, and when they did try to bring him back to live action, it fell over. Killed off too early twice, from a certain point of view.

    I have to hard, and I mean *hard* disagree about Snoke. I think King him off was by far the right choice. The problem isn't that they did that it's that they didn't follow it up properly. If Kylo Ren had just been the main antagonist of E9 like he should have been it would have been a great move. It makes that moment the midpoint of the whole trilogy where everything changed, no longer was it an effort to get kylo ren away from snoke and redeem him, now he was the vilain, now he was the one that Rey had to defeat. By bringing back Palpy and making him the main villain it just ruins the possiblities and makes snokes death completely pointless.

    This list is a joke created by fake Star Wars fans. The original main protagonist not being number 1 (or even here at all) on this list is criminal. And real fans know Padme’s life was siphoned off by the emperor to keep Vader alive long enough for the suit and transformation to be complete.

    • @danbauer3669
      @danbauer3669 Před 3 měsíci

      @@mozi7987 that's OK to have a different opinion. When I saw it in theaters as a kid, TPM was so bad that I fell asleep in the theater and decided to skip AOTC. ROTS was OK, but not up to the standards set by the original Trilogy. Then, all these years later, the prequels look pretty good compared to all the other trash.
      Not saying you can't enjoy these films, just saying it is madly in decline.

    • @Azure_Fire
      @Azure_Fire Před 3 měsíci

      I'm amazed how varied opinions are on the prequels, even among their apologists. I rewatched TPM maybe two years ago and didn't think it was as bad as I remembered. It was just an OK movie with a really great lightsaber fight at the end. AotC is just bad throughout. The Kamino mystery is kind of fun, mainly because of Kenobi and Jango, but once we get to Geonosis there's nothing to enjoy. I think RotS is a genuinely good movie with some bad acting in it. The lightsaber fight isn't as good as TPM, but at the least it's treated with the gravitas a duel between Vader and Kenobi should have.
      The most frustrating thing about the sequels is that I can see a good story in there but it needs massive rewrites. This is gonna sound controversial but stay with me. How Luke dies is actually great. It demonstrates a powerful connections to the Force and is in keeping with Jedi philosophy, but his motivation for the rest of the movie is at complete odds with his established character. If he had been on that island for a purpose to defeat the First Order and not "waiting to die" I think people would have accepted his death better. The Force Dyad and idea of fighting across space that we saw in IX was also a cool idea. Great moments connected by an abysmal story.
