OK to camp and use and sell drugs on the sidewalk, but taxpaying homeowners can’t have their garbage bins visible. Talk about selective enforcement of laws.
Glad to see SF dealing with the important issues like this, rather than crime and druggies.
We need to get these messy tax paying home owners and renters who pay on time to start pulling their weight in fixing this city!
sf is doomed
Right?? This is insane
This is precisely what's wrong with SF. I lived there for 12 years and the prioritization of the unimportant stuff over the critical issues never ceased to amaze me.
Unimportant stuff? If they let this behavior get out of hand, next thing you know people will be living in tents on the sidewalk, peeing and pooing all over the city!
They should deal with all the trash at downtown and the tenderloin first. Ridiculous.
100% agree. Those politicians really don’t know what they supposed to do.
Put Homeless into cans and land fill
Are you able to walk and chew gum at the same time?
Wow this is what the City is worried about, visible garbage cans?? Not visible homeless encampments blocking sidewalks or open air drug use. That’s some messed up priorities! 🤬
Dang the City is finding anyways to get/extort more money from law abiding regular people
Are they kidding? Considering all the garbage actually found on the sidewalks and the streets, keeping covered bins on a property owner's own space seems appropriate. The focus is on the wrong people.
You have never even been to SF. What are you talking about?
@DemPilafian I live in the bay area.
@@kellyrn6014 Then you didn't watch the video. Those streets are not in the Tenderloin. You're talking about a problem that has nothing to do with the neighborhood in the video. You *_might_* live in the Bay Area, but you're not familiar with SF (or you're just blindly pushing a misguided political narrative).
Meanwhile ... trash piles up on the sidewalks with same sidewalks and gutters serving as open toilets. Illegal tents block free pedestrian passage and thieves fearlessly steal from merchants.
San Francisco is lost.
Lame They need to take care of the real trash in the city.
DNCdiversity
The real trash is your politicians you keep voting for
Meanwhile crime is running rapid throughout the City!🤔
AKA diversity
Businesses are leaving because of crime, but trash bins.
Amazing this is what SF is worried about lol don’t have ur garbage cans visible but the homeless encampments can stay lol 😅😅
Residents have money to extort from. Homeless people don't, so not worth dealing with that problem.
There are no words to describe how petty and ridiculous the City is. Obviously their priority is not taking care of things that devalue the City. Stop bullying on elderly law abiding tax paying citizens.
Cover the trash bin with a tent. Put syringes around it and leave it on the sidewalk. 😂
City is too darn picky. The bins are no harm to anything, especially since they are not on the street and are fairly clean.
The bins are ugly. The bins are not as ugly as say an old rusted out beater car up on blocks, so I guess it could be worse.
Seeing garbage cans stored so close to my sidewalk tent is disgusting!!
🤣
SF is noted for having politicians announce programs, laws, petty nuisance laws, etc. and not doing anything. There must be departments in the city who feel they must enact rules just to show they are doing something, no matter how crazy.
Many of these laws simply go untouched until someone complains to the city, then they do something about it. That lady had those cans out like that for what 17 years they said and she's just now getting hit with it... translation an annoying Karen in the neighborhood either living there or walks through there. There simply are people who call stuff like this in just because they can make a complaint.
Bro, that is crazy. Lol
Put a tarp over it.
Over the city
Or a tent
Over the state
It'll be moved, or stolen in no time
@@coffeecactus9483 True.
Poor man. That truck could take his life for an elderly. Maybe those who are enforcing the law should go over to his house every week and help him bring his trash cans up and down the stairs.
No wonder everyone's leaving.
City is getting picky with minor issues and ignoring major issues. The city is losing revenues from tourism and businesses pulling of SF and not hosting conventions here.
my neighbors have theirs in plain sight, never did I once care or notice until I watched this, people are weird
Useless board. Meters on Sundays, cans now out of sight when folks have no garages. Board and Mayor should drive to the Evans St. projects. The housing near Malcolm X Academy has garbage all around the cans, the people living there don't have enough cans. Take tourist buses there, right off Evans past the main US Post Office
As scumbags loot the entire city 😒🙄 Wow
Yooo SF, we got wayyyyy more important things to address then this😂. I want the National Guard, yall worried about visible trash cans🤦🏾♂️😭
I feel that the garbage can inside their property is fine. My neighbor puts their garbage can right by my entrance way. It does have some wood around it but no cover and flies are everywhere. I guess that I should complain about the flies and have them move their garbage can by their own entrance. If they want to enforce it, they should make the one who places their garbage can outside with no cover and by their neighbor entrance way!
Put a tarp over it, problem solved city.
😂....WHAT !
Omg san franshitco.....you definitely have your goverment priorities in check !
I live in SF, why are the authorities focused on this over the many important and even deadly issues we are faced with on a daily basis? ludicrous
Just put up a tent in front of your garbage cans and they will let it slide
In 20 minutes the tent will also have a resident...it's a win win.
The "bin watcher" gets a spot and the city can't do anything about it.
All you need to do. All you need to do. From Bajeet, is put a plastic tarp over it with a bungee cord wrapped around. The cities concerned about trash cans on peoples property. They’re not concerned about the human trash surrounding the city and consuming it.
SF is ridiculous
Sf needs money is why they waited 17 years.
San Francisco is getting desperate and petty! TAKE CARE OF THE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES, LIKE FN CRIME!!!
👍 Yeah! We should only have *ONE* law. We don't want to confuse people who are incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.
SF clearly has its priorities straight. 🥴
Put Homeless inside cans
Solve two problems
More worry about appearance?? At first, you would think so. If that was the case, why have all the nasty drugs and garbage all over the place and the crime? Sticking it to the residents! Taxation without representation.
How about those neighbours that leave their bins open with full of rubbish spilling onto the ground? Perhaps that was the case?
SFPW has nothing better to do. There are so many things that they should be doing and are not.
Too bad they won't lay those lazy dpw workers off
@ohnonono8195 I totally agree. Just look at the state of the roads in SF. Put these people to work.
LOL
You gotta love how dedicated these pen pushers are to go after the last spared $$$ of their captive tax paying suckers! 😂
Government at work for ya.
Ridiculous.
How is this real??
$200-$300 for what is just a really teeny shed? I bet I could build those for under $100 labor included, I smell a new business opportunity :)
what is it blocking the view of actual trash on the sidewalk?
There is a reason for that. Homeless people and legions of recycle grabbers ransack trash receptacles day and night. Trash is scattered all over the streets and sidewalks. If you put the can out the night before collection, you will hear cans turned over in the middle of the night and trash everywhere in the morning,
Hahaha. SF back firing on liberals.
Apparently, you have too much free time. How very nice of you to relish at the problems of others.
@GKP999
Keep crying lib.
Just throw a blanket or a tarp over it and call it a day
Maybe they should send some homeless to sleep there in front of their houses 😂
You voted for that.
the issue should be the fake plastic recycling. gotta love govt and their rules, Im sure they arent in full compliance.
This sounds like a HOA!
Just throw one of those camo nettings that has faux ivy etc. On it and call it a day. I mean if the military uses it to hide under in the wilderness who's to say it wouldn't work for some trash bins😂
San Francisco prioritizing...."Fix what we can fix first. Worry about what we can't fix later... i.e. homeless drug addicts...."
Okay dude? Build a small cover. Simple fiix.
throw a tarp over it
More LONDON BREED nonsense .
....adnd you are still in SF for WHAT REASON?
Cus everything in the stores are FREE!
Lol , the city where people 💩 on the sidewalks are concerned about seeing a garbage can before pick up time 😱🤣
You can’t make this up!
Is time to vote
Hmm.. if you can't afford a couple hundred bucks... should you really be living in suckerfull? suckerfree? I mean
LOL follow the law, fools.
another useless law.
Another good example of why SF is dying.
YOU GOT WHAT YOU VOTED FOR..
I thought he was gonna say "they were built in 1906....when I was a teenager"
Defecate in the street
just put a tent over the bins,,,or a rainbow flag and you'll be fine
liberal utopia so nice
Sorry. You voted for your supervisors. I have no feelings for you..
Before 2006 in windier and poor areas the recepticles wound bee strewn in the streets for days. People and random vehicles would rummage on people's property for what they could find. I lived at Acton and Sikels. I they could make the businesses hide them the city and county would do it. There is an uncovered dumpster ordinance as well.☹️🎭
New to Me. Stop Composting. Stop Recycling. You're only trying to help them. They're probably make money off the cans at least. The rest goes into trash landfill. Youre getting grief? The City can offer funds and grants for these bin covers.
I feel for the lady saying "it's a $300 fix" but the reality is all you have to do is make some cover that goes over it. It even states on the page they showed "tarps can be used if attached to a frame" so get some cheap plastic pipe that's often used for laundry hamper stuff and attach to that. This is one of those easy solutions that people are just getting overly worked up about because they don't want to do anything, yet assume any fix will cost a lot of money. It CAN cost a lot of money, but it really isn't that hard of a solution. I 100% would help those old people out getting something made up to appease the Gods of the Fine
But why is this even a law common sense would ask? Is it reasonable & equitable for the vastly different living situations of people in SF or any city?
And these are the same city supervising people approving the very bins that they impose everyone in the city pay for that they deem are not good enough to be seen?
Seems there are other laws need enforcing?
Those bins are ugly. In my neighborhood we all have garages but some neighbors don't seem to care if they uglify the neighborhood. Obviously, there are no easy answers for neighborhoods with older house lacking garages. I would eagerly support a *program for the city to provide $250 vouchers for seniors* to purchase an enclosure.
The bins are not nearly as ugly as the needle ridden street that you’re living on
get a fricking life.
@ahhh-the-butthurt Thank you so much for pointing out that ugliness will not end someone's life. Deep medical knowledge like yours is sorely lacking on the Intertubes.
DemPilafian " I would eagerly support a program for the city to provide $250 vouchers for seniors to purchase an enclosure." So, how much of a percentage of YOUR paycheck will you pledge for this wonderful voucher program of yours?
@@leakytiki9518 *LOL!* So, how much of a percentage of YOUR paycheck will you pledge to drive on public roads? *You* need to STAY OFF all tax payer funded roads. Don't drive anywhere except on your personal driveway! *LOL!*
Don't worry, I'm *NOT* laughing _with_ you.
Come on now. Just go grab a screen from the hardware store and put it up in front of the bins. Solved. $30 and 20 minutes out of your weekend.
Stop complaining about everything. It's even an ordinance for 17 years, be glad you didn't get enforcement until now and get on with your life. My gosh
Petty af
you get what you voted for lolololololol
