- Come along on a typical day at the farm prepping for an incoming blizzard--preparing the animal enclosures and doing some other last-minute chores before we get a spring dumping of snow! Watch to the end to see how much we ended up getting...

I love that! My Tacoma is 20+ years old and I will drive her as long as I can! Only about 200k miles so should have another 100k in there! 😂❤

Oh my goodness potato! A fox had my one chicken , Myrtle, and was dragging her off. I had to throw a lawn chair at it to get it to drop her and run. She survives to this day. Mine get a one hr supervised recess each day in our fenced garden. Thanks for your zinnias video!

Love the idea of leaves for bedding. I yell at hawks on the regular 🤣. If I had neighbors closer I'm sure they would think I was crazy. Love your sickle 💚

We feed the birds year round, so I am always on the lookout for marauding hawks, and they know it! I go out after them all the time, yelling and pointing. Some fly away as soon as they see me now!
Thank you for sharing your day! It is so nice to see someone, other than myself, having days like those, right down to running through the yard screaming at hawks (I actually just dealt with an eagle) to save our chickens:)

When I had chickens there were numerous enemies... Owls and Fishers at night , you name it....After a while I lost the battle and the joy of backyard chickens. Oh well...

Not sure how much we had at City Park, but there were a lot of broken limbs. I made sure to put a request in for a chip drop to help me get some new beds and walkways ready for summer. When Mother Nature gives you a snowstorm you make lemonade 😊
I always keep a few black chickens to scare off hawks. Not sure if it’s an old wives tale or not but I do it anyway. My biggest problem is raccoons 🦝 I caught 11 of the buggers in one month 😮

What breed is Dotty? I have a dominique who was a snuggly chick, and even now that she's 9 months old she still hops in my lap, tucks her head under my arm and rolls onto her side to sunbathe while I pet her. She has super soft feathers :)

Question regarding the chicken coop. The door automatically closes at dusk … what if the chickens are not inside?

We do but unfortunately our neighbor just passed away and we are trying not to disturb them, and the other one is in Romania for the winter and has water off too!
