    So, in a nutshell blitz the tributaries, take all the little trout and ensure the visiting angler doesn’t get a sniff further down stream… gotcha! Simpler times, eh?!

    Thank god times have changed! Killing all these small trout is disgusting!!........I often think, how there were more trout in these days, if everyone killed what they caught!

      There were limits even then,set by fisheries managers,I positive Sir Michael adhered to those laws and indeed promulgated stricter ones as well.

      Not at all,crispy fingerling trout could be found across continental Europe and the British Isles, and in some places still is.Conservation practices took hold very slowly.
