I’ve just ordered the pussy bow blouse kit as although I’ve made it before I wanted to size up and have it more loose fitting. I wasn’t immediately sold on the fabric choice( red strawberries on pink) but thought I’ll give this a go as a present to myself. I don’t do a front seam on mine and I bias part of the opening as always found it a bit of a mess inside otherwise. I was just liking Rosie’s top when she said what it was. I make practical things that I’ll wear, like jumper dresses and tops. Sewoverit was the first place I came when I returned to sewing 10years ago and where I learnt to sew with knits. I loved the physical courses I did then. At the moment I’m making Christmas gifts. I’ve finished a jumper dress for my 18 month old granddaughter Grace by lengthening the Strawberry sweatshirt pattern. I’m making Christmas shorts and tees for two of my grandchildren who are always warm so have never had Christmas pyjamas before and lastly a dress for my Dil to match Grace. I’ve made a Molly top for the other Dil. Once I start I have to make everyone something. Oh and an Elm tee shirt for Henry(5). Have a great day! Ruthx

As usual a lovely positive video, feels like I’m sitting there among you 🥰 I nearly always get inspired by the fabric which means I’ve got quite a stash 😅 I see a fabric and fall for it and get a breef idea what I can make from it. And I hardly never buy online, it doesn’t inspire me, I have to feel it, drape it and generally see it for real.
Apart from that I get inspired by the catalouges (and the physical shop) from Gudrun Sjödén as I simply love their style!
I love these chatty videos. I get inspired by what people sew and show on Instagram. I also enjoy "Frankensteining" outfits by piecing together different patterns but if I work with one pattern I will most likely tweak it. I love the options that are open to me by sewing my own clothes. I'd really like to have a go at embelishing clothes with embroidery or applique. Also I definitely need to up my game and get around to sewing coats which I´ve not dared to try yet!
We love a bit of 'Frankensteining' too! Coat making is not as scary as you might think, just take your time and take it step by step 😊

What a beautiful Isabelle Blouse! It's on my to make list, I have bought the pattern and a perfect fabric. My most recent make is a Sorrento Jacket, that is another great pattern. If you create a pattern for a more figure hugging denim jacket, which is a little longer and similar to a blazer, that would be fab. I had such a jacket in needlecord that was store bought and I wore it to bits, it had a little "waist band" that was very discrete, and it had a loose fit despite being a little figure hugging. I tried to alter the Sorrento Jacket pattern into a jacket similar to that one but it didn't go well. I generally start my projects with a certain pattern in mind and then buy fabric.
