I laugh everytime you say âexcuse meâđ€Ł; itâs so polite.
hahahaha I laughed while I edited these videos! :)
I do this warm up atleast 5 times a week and it has helped greatly, thank you very much.
I am very glad! We are doing a breath support warm up today for high voice! Hope that helps as well! The opera here in town uses this as well! :)
*I hope you all enjoyed this video! I'm currently in a show, but leave any future requests!*
Kristen Marie could you do warm ups for whistletones please. Thanks
ÂĄThis is just great! ÂĄThank you!
So in high school I used to be able to sing up to a G6. Ever since I got to college, singing a C6 seems extremely difficult. I just tried this warmup today and I am already getting my range back! I cannot wait to see my improvement a month from now! Thank you!
I used this exact video to prep an audition and now I'm playing the soprano lead in She Loves Me
I think I'm some sort of mezzo who can go ver high as well as sing very low alto notes though.my extreme high or extreme low octaves are not very strong. If I don't sing for a while or do hard exercises daily, I lose my top and. bottom octave and am only left with my easy 2 middle octaves. OK as a range for much modern music which usually does not call for a big or high range and sounds best in an alto or mezzo female voice for most songs, unless you are doing high backing vocals. But most of all the really great classical music is for sopranos, with only a few really good mezzo or contralto songs, which is a shame because lower gale voices are beautiful. But, must admit, singing higher soprano than my natural easy mezzo range is pretty exciting because it feels so bright and takes less physical strength to do, unlike alto or lower mezzo nature's which require a lot of deep heavy breathing to get the power and darker quality of such lower notes. I like these high soprano coloratura exercises because they are fast and slippery and you can really go overboard doing them. But I'd hate to have to sing a coloraturas operatic aria, Joan Sutherland style, using such vocal acrobatics as coloraturas soprano singing involves. Too fast and agile for me. But it's fun trying, by doing these exercises. Sometimes I listen to high coloraturas and I could swear they are making up the song as they sing. Then I found a piece of such high coloraturas operatic aria, Caro Nome, if I recall and checked to see how high it went and what all the coloratura high vocal frills looked like written out. And got a shock when it confirmed what I suspected about such extreme coloraturas sopranos. That they just make up the music on high notes and add in their own bits. Because the music for their line actually tells they they can "ad lib" their line. Basically sing whatever notes they wish. And nobody would K owe they made it all up. But, if a y other type of serious singer started just making up classical music and singing notes other than the composer wrote, there'd be shock from the audience. These coloraturas seem to be an artistic law unto themselves and I'd like to sing like they do. Just to get away with inventing stuff as I sing, forget what some composer wrote and expected singers to sing correctly. Just warble away and sing any high notes you feel like singing, staccato, legato, whatever you feel like. So free...
I love this! My voice feeeels sooo good after it makes me feel relieved đ
That's great! I do these warm ups before each rehearsal and audition :)
This helps a lot! Thank you so much!
Awesome exercises ...I'm so out of practice with my high soprano, this is PERFECT!!
Can you please post some exercises for practicing whistle tones ... đ
Just done my second day of this and already my top F# is really strong thank you so much! Xxx
That's great! đđđ
I sing with this almost every day and it's helped a ton. Thanks for this!
I took 10+ years off of âcoachedâ singing after high school when I went to college and just didnât have time. Then I watched PoTO and I desperately wanted my range back so I could sing along, and I finally reached a beautiful F sharp today!!! Thank you so much for your videos, they gave me my voice back â€ïž
Oh wow! I am so glad I found this gem :)
Thanks!!!!!!!đ
Thank you. I can reach the very high coloratura soprano notes but have a thicker soprano voice that struggles with great coloratura on extreme high notes, though I can do it on the medium high or middle notes, but not very low ones. These exercises are helpful. I like the no nonsense, just sing it approach and the fast pace. Get through more exercises in less time.
Thank you!
You're welcome, Sophie! Happy singing! :)
Thank you. I really love this and will be using this to practice. I wish there was one that reached Ab6...
This is helping me a lot!
I'm so glad! Keep working and enjoy the journey!! :)

This feels so good lol
AMAZZZZINNNGGG!!!
Thank you!
During the pandemic, itâs so hard to get to the piano and feel motivated to sing. However, this video helps me so much. I feel encouraged and wish to keep singing as a result. Itâs something I can do everyday and still feel vocally healthy.
That's great!! Glad to help you keep singing!! :)
Love this so much! It would be awesome if you could do a basic beginners for playing piano!
Oh really? That is definitely something to add to the video playlist :)
Hi Kristen, could you do a coloratura video for Tenors? I love these exercises, so I lower the octave, but if you could do one for tenors that would be awesome!

I listen to this to warm up every single day, and it's gotten me through most of my opera record! I have been wrapping up the Doll Song aria and was wondering if you could (at some point) make a warm up for the Aⶠto warm up safely. Your videos are so amazing, thank you for everything you do. đđâšïžđ
Thank you so much for this comment! I actually made an entirely separate CZcams Channel that does include advanced warm ups for coloratura singers: czcams.com/video/lmE4bqmlDUw/video.htmlsi=vXVUrZyf0xNvoWa8
*New 2019 Vocal Warm Ups For High Voice:* czcams.com/video/0UlAf5K_SZY/video.html
Would it be possible for you to do a warm-up video for coloratura baritones?
Yes of course!
I love the deepness of baritones. Iâm a whistletone đ
Hello Kristen, I can't remember exactly where you say "it can also increase your range", but I would just like to confirm that you are absolutely correct! I had a 2.8 octave range (I can't remember my actual singing range of notes, but it definitely has increased, and my range is now C3 to C6 with a 3 octave range. I am really happy with my progress, so thank you very much!
@@kitty.miracle Rubbish.
Could you please post video exercises for developing a good vibrato technique?
Could you post a video to help improve tone and reduce breathingâs? I love your videos, thank you!
Not breathings! Breathiness
Thanks!
Hi Kristen, you may remember I acknowledged your reply to me about the sound quality, saying it is so much better now. I found this lesson so much more comfortable (for want of a better word) than the first time I did it, and I actually got to the top! I read some time ago (another site) that lip trills actually help extend the range, and they seem to. Hope I have got that correct! These coloratura lessons are amazing.
For years the lip buzzes have been the only exercise I cant seem to do lol so tongue r rolls it is
Keep practicing! :)
Kristens_Classroom Sure will! Also thank you for creating this specific video its the only one that Ive found to actually workout my range đđ
I can do the lip buzzes but not the rolling!
FYI There are generally 2 reasons why lip buzzes donât work - either You donât have enough breath or your lips are tight! First of all push your lips in with both hands so you get a fish lips look :-) then imagine breathing under your chicken wings ( arms) keeping your rib cage expanded and using your belly button muscles to initiate the breath! Good luck !
Hi Kristen! Love from India â€ïž This warm up video has been a game changer for me. I practice this warm up everyday and greatly improved my voice like anything. Thank you so much for this and I would request you to do a video on coloratura soprano exercises to improve the vocal range even more.
Hello! Thank you SO much for this message! I actually DO have an advanced Coloratura soprano video coming out FRIDAY! I made an entirely separate channel just for singing/ warm up videos: czcams.com/users/kmusicstudios
@@KristensClassroom Thank you so much Kristen â€ïž
I can reach these extreme high notes but I have a thicker voice and struggle with coloraturas agility on high notes. Will try these exercises to try to get more agility and clarity, less foggy sticky high notes. Thanks.
I recommend trying these for 2-3 weeks and it should get easier :)
Great video. I do have a request. So I'm in singing lessons, and my teacher says by the coloratura & pitch of my voice, I should be able to reach E6 & beyond, however, my voice just won't got there (he thinks, yet). So I was wondering if there are any exercises you would recommend so I can improve my range. Thank you.
Can we get one for Counter Tenor?
Hey Kristen! I love this work-out. Iâm preparing to do the Queen of the Night aria for a talent show at the end of October and itâs been years since Iâve done any coloratura. I canât quite reach the F# yet but I definitely have the E so hopefully I can get it in time. Thanks for posting this! - Bonnie
I just realized itâs an F, not F#.
The aria is written in F major.
Howâs it go? I sung this for school and it was great
Requiem Eleven love it
insane & crazy đThanks!!
â€
I'm still trying to find my range. I can sing tenor notes all the way to higher than a c6 but I still don't know what I actually am
Not too low for you đ good job
Wow!!! Wow!! My voice goes to high F# effortlessly today with this exercise. Thank you so much!!! If you set up a Paetron or ko-fi you know I would love to buy you an e-coffee
Want Extended Arpeggios to high B
Lost me at at iiiii eeeee aaaaa ahhhahahahaha Cuz I felt like I sounded crazy đ
Could you do whistletones
Yes, we will put that into a future video :)
Kristens_Classroom weâd greatly appreciate it thank you!
That is above High C

LAAAAAA
I'm 16 and my vocal range is A2-E7 and idk if I'm a soprano and which soprano I am
With that range, definitely a soprano :)
I'm a tenor, can I use this to expand my range?
Yes - absolutely. I also recommend doing one of our breath support warm ups before this one so you have your breath underneath you before trying to hit higher notes
@@KristensClassroom okay I'll do it, thanks alot maa'm â€ïž

Practice every day â€ïž
Kristens_Classroom
I find this exercise a little more difficult but I will be practicing it, thank you so much đ
When we breathe in do we breath in from our diaphragm?
When ur singing yes
Tempo fluctuations are annoying.
I like the lesson. However, the finger clacking in the beginning is truly annoying. Maybe a clicker, or electronic metronome would be better. Otherwise, great job.
Madam, you are a great pianist, but your voice is terribly muffled, I just don't get what you are SAYING. Must be your strong American accent. The notes ought to be shown on the screen.
Thank you, Diane! I'm trying to upgrade the quality of these videos - let me know if the sound quality has improved on today's upload and what topics you'd like to see in future voice lesson content! czcams.com/video/0UlAf5K_SZY/video.html
@@KristensClassroom I am SO sorry, I have just seen your reply to me, and I have to give you that all import GREAT BIG THANK YOU, because yes, the sound quality if VERY much improved, and made the lesson so very useful. On the subject of other topics, my apologies if you have covered this, but I have read so much about vibrato - some coaches say it can't be taught, others say it needs to, some say you can "help it along and improve it". I think mine came naturally, but I can stop it if I have to within a song. I would love to have your opinion on the absolute correct way to go about this. I know some people get confused between vibrato and a trill. Luckily I know the difference! Many many thanks Kristen xx
Sorry, you interrupt all the time, before the exercice, will be even settle up; all is mix up; relaxion and silent to achieve the skill, does not exist.
The " clip" of fingers could it be Aida" o one Taratela, no matter; no face at all to see your vocal position???
Please, check other videos where the teacher is extraordinary, skilled, didactic and not a " ghost"; vocal movements view are extremeky important, thanks ( opera student)đą
