  • What if you can come up with thousands of options for a single design without drawing? This is generative design - harnessing massive computing power, achieving maximum performance while wasting nothing.

      The convergence of infinite computing, digital manufacturing via generative design, and the internet of things will allow people to design, make, and use places, things, and media in new and interesting ways.

  • @feralgrin
    @feralgrin Před 8 lety +8

    I think perhaps, in the Airbus segment, it was meant to say "a panel half as heavy"; not "half as light"... Might want to fix that.

    • @cnl1213
      @cnl1213 Před 8 lety +5

      I don't see anything wrong w the statement. "Half as light" meaning 50% lighter. Plus they get the word "light" in there, which helps to push the point.

    • @feralgrin
      @feralgrin Před 8 lety +1

      You could say "half again as light"... But without that, it would mean it's heavier.

    • @feralgrin
      @feralgrin Před 8 lety +4

      If something is half as cold or half as hot, does it mean that it is colder or hotter respectively?
      At any rate, we appear to have made this far more important than it ever needed to be at this point. For which I am equally guilty.

    • @cnl1213
      @cnl1213 Před 8 lety

      It's a good point of discussion u bring up tho. I had to process it before drawing a conclusion. To DoctorDebVids 's point, I liken "half as light" to saying a glass is "half as empty" as suppose to "half as full" whereas "half as empty" still means there is less content in the glass as suppose to it being "more full"...

      Get really strong in one of the big programming languages like Java, accumulate work experience as a programmer / architect / technological lead for other programmers, and you will be in place once this really arrives. As a student, focus on getting excellent grades and do relevant part-time work as a software developer as you study, then the future will be wide open for you.
