    Dude, this seriously kicks ass. I'm a math teacher at a very project oriented school, and for the whole video, I was thinking that this is the level of project work that I want to help my kids achieve. Very well done!

    Your version is cooler looking than the original, too. It makes me think of the Elvish architecture in Lord of the Rings artwork. Keep going!

    I would have liked to see both brackets sustain a test until their breaking point. Because, to me, that's how to really know how good / better either one is compared to the other. I love how you tought about kids too. Working in a daycare, I can tell you they *will* abuse the brackets. Like, repeatedly. They will hang to them, shake them violently and repeatedly, just for fun.

    Ah nice design! I do Finish Carpentry and stairs, and the regular handrail brackets look garish in a home, but yours look so much nicer in addition to meeting your design goals. Not only steel, but all building materials have skyrocketed in cost recently, and we really need this kind of thinking to build homes people can afford while helping sustain the world too.

    am currently fascinated by Bill-E robots... if you find time look into Benjamin jennet's papers ( his phd paper )...
    It would be great to have a combination of 3d printing + generative design + smaller bill-e robots

    Ive always been a tinker and wish i had your know how at 35.
    I love how generative design and topology optimization havean organic or skeletal look.
    To take the sustainability aspect further, have you considered recycled plastic? Hdpe is the best for this, but some can mix, heat and extrude (idk about injection molding)plastic for synthetic decking and boards. Keep up the good work, sub'd

    Hello, how did you used blender to make the generative design? I'm doing a research on the topic but i can't use the generative design environment in fusion (mine is the educational license) Would really appreciate any response from you.

    • @Adventioneer
      @Adventioneer  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello! I used Blender only for the rendering, The generation was done in Fusion 360. I was able to use the generative design tool for free (without any license) using their 30 day trial: www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/generative-design-free-trial It might be different now though - the last time I tried this was almost a year ago.

      There are a variety of tutorials out there on the basics of generative design, blender 3d, and 3d printing on CZcams! That's how I learned. I would love to help you more but I just don't have the time😭 Best of luck on your learning journey!!

      @@Adventioneer Yea, I just cant get the Anton blender addon working, I just need simple topology optimization and don't wanna spend a fortune on CAD software. I've been working with blender for many years, but just cant get Anton addon working.
      I heard something about one of the dependencies being broken by a new version. I've tried installing older versions but cant find which combination of which dependencies proper version is the one that works, as the creator of Anton hasn't updated it to work on the new versions... bummer
      If anyone reading this can give me a list of what versions of each of the dependencies you used to get it to work, I will pony up some cash for your time, Thanks!

      @@Riley_Christian . Fusion 360 has a free trial for both Generative Design and all other features - which is what I used because I don't have a budget for expensive software either lol. Go here: www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/generative-design-free-trial
      Click "Download Free Trial", click "Business User" and then make an account/download the software. Then follow this tutorial: czcams.com/video/PSSt8wswNJQ/video.html
      This is the process I used for my project. I am not familiar at all with the Anton blender addon so I'm not sure if I can help you with that.
