Can you say rock and roll vanity project? Rich guy with too much money overpays for the Gilmore guitar and pays to have real musicians play for his enjoyment in his stadium…..kind of like the movie The Toy….

damn, lot of Jim Irsay haters in the comments lol. as somebody who's been a fan of the Colts since I was born, the hate this guy gets is often times by folks that don't really appreciate or know what he's all about. Jim has done his share of stupid things, made poor decisions and embarrassed himself, that's for sure. But where he differs from his dad, is that Jim is always willing to admit and accept his mistakes and his flaws. Maybe not early on, but later (the last 10 years or so) he's admitted that he's made mistakes, hurt people, and ultimately hurt the team. But in spite of all of that, being around the city, going to Colts camps in the summer and going to games, I've gotten the chance to see how he acts, how he treats people, and see what people think of him. Every where he goes, he carries (or one of his people carry) a roll of hundreds, every person that is there to support him or his team, he makes sure they're well taken care of, often tips thousands of dollars for a meal, makes sure his security staff are well taken care of, buys crazy gifts for his people that work around his estate, etc. You might say that he's a spoiled trust fund kid playing at being a rocker, and you're not wrong, Jim has even said that. But he also has a deep appreciation for the musicians and the work they do, and that's why he purchases all of the instruments he does, he wants to preserve the history of the music, and that's why he puts it out and tours it. So you can come after me for simping for a billionaire if you like, but Jim's a great owner by my standards.

Let’s not forget that the Irsay are the most hated family in Baltimore after they move the Colts to Indy. Even after 39 years folks in Baltimore still hate his father

Thank you Jim Irsay for touring your collection and raising money for charity! It was cool to see, especially for free.

I went to the Jim Irsay Collection in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty cool. The things he had on display were amazing to look out and see. The music was great, I am a huge R.E.M. fan and it was great to see Mike Mills play. The best thing about it was the price. It was free.

I never knew Jim Irsay was a general manager before becoming an owner. But if you want to praise him for the 1987 team and the Eric Dickerson trade, you should also look at his overall body of work.

It's pretty kool and remarkable of how many great RBs that have played for the Colts, I always thought of them as a passing team throughout the Manning and Luck years, but to really take a look back at all the Hall Of Fame RBs and pro bowlers that they have been blessed and fortunate enough to have and for them to have taken chances on them to see that talent in them when other teams passed on them should be evident enough that Irsay knows what to look for in players

Please Jim Irsay is the worse owner in the league and now he is telling other teams not to contact Andrew Luck why this isn’t up to him this is something that the NFL needs to enforce not him. He makes me so damn sick. I wish that the owners would force Jim Irsay into selling the colts as well.
