This is the reason why a sizeable amount of the development time for 2.2 was kept aside for upgrading the GD servers, and Rob did confirm that this along with the challenge mode and the arrow trigger were major reasons for 2.2 taking this long so far

The almost 6 year wait is coming to a close very soon. Mad props to rob for the dedication and the community for keeping this amazing game alive. I've been playing this game since 1.1, and it's been crazy to watch the small, simple mobile game turn into what it is today. 2.2 is bigger than 1.0.
The quality is insane, 2.2 literally feels like a whole entire different game! I cant wait for what levels the community is gonna make, its gonna be awesome haha.
This sneak peek alone makes me so excited to see what the GD map creating community has in store, considering the levels that are out today even before this update.

2.2 will add a whole new difficulty and experience for Geometry Dash. This game is almost 10 years old and to think its still going and being played. Geometry dash has been my childhood ever since I was 10 (played in December 2013) and probably to many others. Thank you Robtop for bringing me an experience that I never knew I needed. Cheers for another 10 years.

I’ve been playing this game since November 2016 (near the end of 2.0), and I can still remember everyone’s hype when 2.1 came out back in January 2017, right after TrusTa verified Yatagarasu, regardless of the minor nerfs it recieved. I also remembered when Sonic Wave used to be the hardest demon in the game. After a few years of 2.1 (and 2.11), I went through I hiatus phase since I got bored of the game, but came back when RobTop showed us the new key frames system. Let’s pray that we don’t have to wait any longer than this, because every day, we get closer to the 6th anniversary of 2.1.
Ive had the same thing you've been dealing with. No amount of mega hacks will make the game just not boring to me imo. I played 2.1 for a year after that i just told myseld im not coming back untill robtop adds 2.2. Just no other reason to play the game tbh.
Mad respect to RobTop for putting up with the hate he's been getting because of the wait, but he's just trying to bring us the best update he possibly can. Keep up the amazing work, and I hope to see a release date :)

Simply incredible. Even for only a mere 58 seconds, the wait to see all of these amazing new upcoming additions to the game was worth it. Super excited for 2.2!
Even though it was pretty short, this was amazing, and to think that we are very close to the release, the 2.2 release will be the biggest historic moment for the gd community yet, cant wait to do the main levels and the tower!
last time it took 9 months for the actual update to come out after the sneak peek was uploaded, this time the update has presumably multiplayer, a bunch more new stuff, 2 official levels to build, whatever the tease at the end here was, etc... I'd give it another year and a half lmao

Unless RobTop's intentionally holding off sneak peeks when they could be uploaded way earlier, he probably has the same amount of progress on this level as Fingerdash back then. Plus, who knows if the first level's done yet.
Starting to think 2.21 may also be very hype because it will have events, versus, the map, more platformer levels and explorers which I think will be as good as Dash, so it is still packed with features Nvm versus and explorers are never coming
2022: Explorers confirmed on 2.2! 2023: Explorers delayed for 2.21! 2024: Explorers will not come out on 2.21 and it will probably come out on 2.3 or it will be canceled!

I came into this without knowing what to expect, and was blown away at the sheer effort and beauty of this level-its put all the fanmade versions to shame. Of course, the level is far from perfect (lots of empty space, poor sight readability, and reliance on gimmicks) but it still makes me hyped for 2.2. Can’t wait for my great great grandchildren to get to play the full level!
Thank you for recognizing that this is better than all of the fan-made versions that exist, for those people that set their expectations too high and think this is "disappointing". I understand that people think that +5 years of waiting for the update = this being unimaginably crazy and unique, but you have to remember that this is one of the *main* levels. Robtop's levels have a simple style to them, both in the gameplay and decoration. And it doesn't help that user made levels have gotten so advanced, it made people expect more from this. Also, it's silly that Colon thinks the gameplay looks rushed and "made in 5 minutes", that's such a weird take, especially when you compare this to the fan-made Explorers's. All of them just take the deco from the first sneak peak and even the block hitting gimmick, and the gameplay in this is way more interesting and unique than any of them.

I’ve been playing this game since November 2016 (near the end of 2.0), and I can still remember everyone’s hype when 2.1 came out back in January 2017, right after TrusTa verified Yatagarasu, regardless of the minor nerfs it recieved. I also remembered when Sonic Wave used to be the hardest demon in the game.
After a few years of 2.1 (and 2.11), I went through I hiatus phase since I got bored of the game, but came back when RobTop showed us the new key frames system.
Let’s pray that we don’t have to wait any longer than this, because every day, we get closer to the 6th anniversary of 2.1.

I play geometry dash in the beginning of 2.0 and was so fun to find people making good levels :)

Ive had the same thing you've been dealing with. No amount of mega hacks will make the game just not boring to me imo. I played 2.1 for a year after that i just told myseld im not coming back untill robtop adds 2.2. Just no other reason to play the game tbh.
At the end of dash’s sneak peek, it was different than what the actual level was, so i think it’s not gonna be a boss fight (but it could be)

Mad respect to RobTop for putting up with the hate he's been getting because of the wait, but he's just trying to bring us the best update he possibly can. Keep up the amazing work, and I hope to see a release date :)

I don't mind rub working hard on this one. He kept his promise, of releasing sneaky 2 soon. He also has his own life, he goes to the gym, talks to people, touches grass...

Simply incredible. Even for only a mere 58 seconds, the wait to see all of these amazing new upcoming additions to the game was worth it. Super excited for 2.2!

Even though it was pretty short, this was amazing, and to think that we are very close to the release, the 2.2 release will be the biggest historic moment for the gd community yet, cant wait to do the main levels and the tower!

last time it took 9 months for the actual update to come out after the sneak peek was uploaded, this time the update has presumably multiplayer, a bunch more new stuff, 2 official levels to build, whatever the tease at the end here was, etc... I'd give it another year and a half lmao

@@DelphTheCat ...for the first level. 2.1 had one level so only one sneak peek was needed. Unless RobTop's intentionally holding off sneak peeks when they could be uploaded way earlier, he probably has the same amount of progress on this level as Fingerdash back then. Plus, who knows if the first level's done yet.
Not close. Making this 1 minute of gameplay took 3 weeks. "The Tower" is uncomplete too. Disaster of an update

Starting to think 2.21 may also be very hype because it will have events, versus, the map, more platformer levels and explorers which I think will be as good as Dash, so it is still packed with features

I came into this without knowing what to expect, and was blown away at the sheer effort and beauty of this level-its put all the fanmade versions to shame. Of course, the level is far from perfect (lots of empty space, poor sight readability, and reliance on gimmicks) but it still makes me hyped for 2.2. Can’t wait for my great great grandchildren to get to play the full level!
Thank you for recognizing that this is better than all of the fan-made versions that exist, for those people that set their expectations too high and think this is "disappointing".
I understand that people think that +5 years of waiting for the update = this being unimaginably crazy and unique, but you have to remember that this is one of the *main* levels. Robtop's levels have a simple style to them, both in the gameplay and decoration. And it doesn't help that user made levels have gotten so advanced, it made people expect more from this.
Also, it's silly that Colon thinks the gameplay looks rushed and "made in 5 minutes", that's such a weird take, especially when you compare this to the fan-made Explorers's. All of them just take the deco from the first sneak peak and even the block hitting gimmick, and the gameplay in this is way more interesting and unique than any of them.
