    Fantastic. I could listen to that all day. Your camera has a great audio processor. Why would anyone ever jump out of that plane? The Army is so super lucky to own it. Great job. Thanks again.

      +David Peters We think it's great too. We actually own two, the last two that Fokker made in 85'. Currently searching for replacements as parts and service can be tricky to find.

    Nice! Battery start on a Dart, that can be adventure all by itself.

      +Hawk4570 The vast majority of our starts are internal battery. Our GPU must feel under appreciated.

    I can remember when Air New Zealand flew them and at start up you had to cover your ears due to the the high pitch Shrill. The aircraft these days are much quieter. Good old days.

    The dart has more a whistling sound than the deep humming sound unlike planes like a dash8 which have a deep humming sound

      @cockle0979 Před 7 lety +4

      Not sure if this is 100% true, but I was once told that the whistling sound was primarily caused by the Dart's centrifugal compressors while other RR turboprops such as the Tyne have spool compressors and thus make more of a growling sound.

      And plus the pw Canada turbos are more efficient anyways. Better fuel mileage.

      Back in the 60s when the F27s and Viscounts flew overhead, they sounded like real jet aircraft!

      @@cockle0979 that’s most likely true- they sounded so different to the Tyne

      @dustinperegrin537  Před 7 lety +2

      No APU. We primarily do battery starts whenever we're away from our home base.
